Great job getting the armor finished! You always feel like you have more time than you really do; suddenly, six weeks turns into a week and a half! I've been there, and I can say you did a solid job getting everything ready for your event, even if you did have to fight some near-disasters along the way!

What a nightmare. Vasiline does a better job at chipping than mustard,it comes off much easier and has little problems
The chipping method wasn’t the problem, it was initially the time between paint layers and with the second try it was the dust that settled in between layers :)
Even if there were a few bumps in the road in the making process the armor came out amazing! Great job! 👏🏻

If it helps in the future, peeling the masking tape 90 degrees away from the edge can really cut down on it taking paint with it. Another thing ive used is plastic modelers masking tape. (Tamiya is the only one i can think of). Its really good for crisp lines. Ive done edges w it, then reg painters tape over for main coverage.

sorry but i'm not a fan of what you did with the paint, you did what you could with all the problems you had, and it turn out ok, but i think there are a ton of issues you'll need do fix and work on, like refining the lines of your paint job here and there, specialy on the black parts of your design it looks messy, specialy looking at the torso, and you should not use to much sand paper for the weathering it's to sharp and dos not look natural, and the mat top coat does not make the armor pop out, maybe it's the brand you used i don't know exactly but it tarnished the metalic look of the armor. you could also had a touch of bleue to the shoulders and leg pieces to make them look like part of the all thing and not separate parts hadded on.
otherwise great job the armor looks great the over all look is fine but i clearly think you need to do over the paintjob for it to reach peak potential with more time spent on it in summer you should have a great thing going on also you could weather the blasters a bit so that they don't feel like brand knew compared to the armor.
keep on with the good job you are doing great and could go a long way with a bit of refining work here and there.
