I have a denim conundrum - all of my jeans are skinny jeans. I look like a sausage in them, so I am now shopping for some affordable denim. A lot of my skinny jeans were expensive, so I am now looking for denim under $100.
Denim under $100
I was shooting for the GAP, but it’s closed. So, I start at J. Crew. It ends up being a huge miss with the jeans having no stretch and being too tight in the butt/quad area. Banana Republic is next up. They are long like all of my jeans, but I like them. The pockets are clean, and the denim is simple and crazy comfortable. American Eagle is the next stop, where I try on medium wash with mild distressing. They carry smaller sizes both in waist and length. The jeans are not super tight in the thigh or ankle, and the rise looks good. My butt looks amazing too! I try on a pair at Express, which I love the stretch, which makes them crazy comfortable. I worry they’re a bit too tight as I am getting away from the skinny jeans. Checking out Macy’s, I select a slim and slim tapered pair (they have a lot of selections). They have a buy one, get one 50% off. Shopping is now finished.

Banana Republic - slim fit, stretchy, fit is pretty perfect. I love the look and fit! $110
American Eagle - a little long, medium wash, not crazy tight, perfect rise, gradual tapered ankle, lots of stretch, comfortable. I’m obsessed! $49
Levis - slim tapered (512s), not as much stretch as other pairs, tailored through the thigh, tapered at the ankle, indigo color. Amazing denim! $60 - Навчання та стиль

One of the best tips I've ever come across for making sure the jeans you're looking for have plenty of comfortable stretch is to look at the tag and check that they are made from a cotton/poly blend with 1-2% spandex.

Old Navy has fantastic jeans. Not a wide selection but the pairs I bought there have lasted years and still look new
I can attest to this, actually. I have jeans from 2016 that I still wear to this day. Every time I iron them, they look new

I love these shopping videos, and would love to see you do more of them. Great work. For jeans under $100, I cannot recommend Revtown highly enough. I was skeptical at first, but now I have several pairs and wear them almost every day.
I love Revtown as well. They are high quality and super comfortable. However, I have been looking to broaden my options a bit. Great video!

This is what I love to see - favorite style of video you make (and I’ve been following for 10+ years!)
For me I usually wear Levi’s or AE, I prefer the cleaner look of Levi’s (I wear the 511s in 30/32, for some reason the 32 inseam on Levi’s is usually long enough) but In terms of comfort nothing comes close to AE, being able to order my true size in 29/34 and the stretch just feels amazing! I also love the jeans from abercrombre, their super skinny and 90s slim fits are awesome and they offer inseam lengths for taller dudes.

I actually just bought a pair of dark grey jeans from express and I’m absolutely in love with them but in terms of comfortable and affordable jeans I love old navy they have their 360 stretch denim in both slim and skinny fit, I love both but I feel like the skinny fit feels more like a much tapered slim fit on me personally which I love
The traveller jeans are great. Between them and g star two of my faves
A lot of awesome jeans for around $20 can be found at Target. Great quality and looks nice.
Believe it or not, Walmart brand George Athletic fit jeans are even cheaper than that. Not too big, consistent length, good stretch, and comfortable. Love the medium wash., as it is a real blue, not dirty blue. Keepers.
Zara has some really nice and comfy jeans and their quality is really good for their price. I bought yesterday a pair and I'm really happy and satisfied overall.

Highly recommend Abercrombie. Ever since their rebrand their products especially their denim is amazing. My wife even started buying a pair. Not to mention if you can find an outlet you can score them even cheaper. Last pair I bought for like $20
I find David Bitton Buffalo to be a great affordable option. Most of their jeans have 1% spandex so there's stretch and they have many fits and distressed levels to choose from.

My favorite jeans are from American eagle. I’ve replaced all my jeans with American eagle ones. They’re amazing!!
American Eagle has always been great with their jeans, in my experience. Comfortable and the perfect amount of stretch.
Have a pair of the BR traveler jeans from about 5 years ago. They’re my favorite jeans, so comfy and can be dressed up or down so they work for any occasion.

I love the Levi’s 505, it’s very comfortable, and much roomier compared to other Levi’s jeans - such as the Levi’s 501.
Especially around the thigh area, which is what I imagine a lot of people might want… I wear 33-34, and I love the fit - they feel spectacular!
So if you’re looking for a bit of extra room in the thigh, and the ankle section, they’re perfect!

Levi’s 512 all day every day. I haven’t gotten any other brand since I first tried them. Super comfortable, not too tight not too loose. And another plus, there are affordable.
I really like the Levi’s 511 slim fit stretch. The are comfortable and fit me nicely. I did it care for the taper, it wasn’t the right look for me.
I like those too.

Findings in my situation below, in order from best to worst:
1. Banana Republic: The most comfortable of all, and great fit
2. Levi’s: Comfortable, I love the dark navy color I got
3. American Eagle: Too tight in the thigh and crotch areas, but stretchy
I ended up keeping 1 and 2, and retuning 3.
American Eagle Slim Straight are my go-to. Another brand that is affordable and comparable to AE is the Denizen by Levi’s available at Target. Levi’s always look and feel a bit “dated” to me, but Denizen hits it out of the park with their fit and color options. I go with Slim Straight from them too.
I just found at Kohls a pair of 505 Levi's 40x30 for $30 bucks, actually cheaper then my go to Lee's that went up to 40 bucks. Sometimes it's good to to look at the clearance rack.
American Eagle is the best Im a 5'6" guy and I always find some 30 length that fit great. Also great prices and quality.
I bought some banana republic jeans last Sunday!! They are a little long but it’s nothing then tailors can’t fix and They are so great! I bought black jeans and the are not distressed at all. Perfect for my Thursday Chelsea boots coming through the mail soon ;)

Good thing you brought this up Alpha. I did some shopping for myself and found that the "George" George Clothing" that's in Walmart where I live in Iowa. Actually has an amazing fit. Waist wise yeah they may have an extra inch at the bottom of it. But like you said alpha they'll shrink a bit. Making them my size in waist and length.

When I'm looking for cheap jeans I always score at old navy. Love the fit.
I don't know if they have shops in the US but in my experience Burton jeans are great, under 100 bucks the fabric is not too stiff out of the box so they are comfortable and they are pretty well made in my opinion

I bought a pair of darkwash tapered jeans at Lee/Wrangler a couple years ago. They were pretty expensive, the most I've ever spent on jeans...but they're the most comfortable ever, and my favorite jeans.

One of the best jeans I like are the Levi's 541 athletic fit!! They give you plenty of room without being baggy around the thigh and they taper slightly not like skinny jeans! I have bigger, muscular thighs so they fit great! I am old school, so I still like my classic Levi's 501 and 517 bootcut!! Both fit me good! Like your shopping vlogs! Like to see you what you can come up with if you went to a thrift store!!
Thanks for the video. I'm older and have no issues going into AE. I own some Henley shirts from there. I like Lee Extreme Motion and Old Navy Slim Fit with stretch. Old Navy doesn't get credit for their under the radar jeans. As a bonus, their pockets have excellent depth for my cell phone. I hate low rise. The rise on both these brands is perfect. I have a pair of Levi's 502 that I won't wear because the rise is low and I feel like my butt will pop out if I bend over. I want to love Levi's so much, but they seem to have a thing for low rise in all their Slim Fit styles, which is frustrating. I recently tried a brand called Revtown. They seem pretty good.
I think you should of tried Hollister, it may be a bit of a younger store but they have great jeans and they have a huge variety of them👍🏼

I just recently purchased jeans from Perfect Jean. The fabric is stretchy and come in slim, athletic fit. They come in various lengths and waist sizes. I purchased the slim and they fit great lots of stretch. The are 80 dollars my Anson belt sets them off.
I love American eagle jeans, but i find that they dont last that long. Express jeans are amazing too but just a little pricey imo
You gotta try The PerfectJeans . I’ve held onto my AE jeans for YEARS but recently it’s harder to find really stretchy ones. These retail at $75 but MANNNNNNN. You’ll never go back
I’d have to say Revtown. They have amazing jeans for the price, around $80. They are direct to a consumer brand. Madewell has great denim as well but they are just north of $100.

I love American Eagel jeans, I love the flexibility in them and I have them in every color in slim straight
I got two pairs of Axel brand jeans from Sam's that I wear for my wearhouse job, I've been wearing them almost daily for over a year now and they have held up. No holes, tears, or fading yet.
I'm a custom tailor and I make custom jeans. Have tried jeans at every price point. I can wear slim or skinny. Distressed or clean. Best cheap jeans are AE, imho. Best overall selection of various fits, sizes, and styles. Many "cheap" jeans are quickly serged with a safety stitch to create the side seam, esp many Levi's. AE's are made with pressed open side seams similar to selvedge jeans which is better quality. If you fit well into J Crew jeans, the 770s or 484s in Japanese denim are also excellent for the $.
Great video. Of the jeans you tried, I like the Banana Republic ones the best. Also, try Uniqlo. They have amazing denim.
I do express all day long. The concern over the tightness is valid however, they actually loosen over time instead of tighten after washing. Yea nice they’re “broken in” you’re solid.
Alpha, we need a video of different work jeans for construction. Wrangler cowboy cut, ariat, dickies, etc. And some FR rated. I go thru jeans quick. They all seem thin and heavy enough.
AND they need to look good in style and cut. There is a serious like of videos on it.

Alpha, don’t be afraid to check out Old Navy’s 360 stretch. I wear the skinny and, as a slim guy to begin with, they actually fit me about the same as these slim jeans are fitting you. Plus they have the stretch and they’re super soft.

Aaron I just picked up two pair of AE Jeans 31/30 a few weeks ago. They are the only denim I can wear comfortably.
Try Goodfellow slim fit jeans from Target, they have stretch and the fit is amazing, and for around $30 it’s easy on the wallet.
I started off watching you and going to the gap and gap outlet. Now as I replace some of them I’ve went to Express and Mavi jeans! 👖

When I shop for jeans and it’s more about the Materials so when I look at jeans I look at what type of denim they’re made with I try to only buy Japanese stretch denim &Japanese denim is the world best denim to buy. and you can find some out there for affordable prices you just kinda have to look around

Beware the dark denim bleeds. I had a new suede jacket I wore and my AE jeans bled on the cuffs.
We have Macy’s and American Eagle at Lakeline Mall in Austin TX Express too but not Banana Republic.
Uniqlo has some of the best denim regardless of price - but especially below $100
Great but a bit pricey (and as far as I know, only online thru their website) are Mavi jeans. Various cuts/styles and colors, I've owned several and they are really quite excellent with great long-lasting wear to them. Had a few pairs for years now and they still look as new.

I love these videos. I had skinny from 510 and they were so skinny I couldn't wear the in public. I donated them. I'm a small but fit guy. Gap skinny fit me very well and are not too skinny. Levi's 511 are good, I LOVE Banana Republic Travelers Slim. I have three pairs so far. I used to wear Buffalo Jeans but moved aways from them for some reason.
Try the Express athletic taper jeans. They are amazing. Roomier on the tights tapered on the legs.
I've been getting my jeans and chinos from American eagle for years. only place that had my size. 28 x 30. Good price too.
