Carol of the bells is famous Ukrainian song composed by Mykola Leontovych and has the "Shchedryk" name by itself, it has indeed very beautiful and breathtaking melody.
Agreed 😊 It kind of just draws you in and takes you on a fun an beautiful melodic journey! I especially enjoy how the lower parts compliment the higher 😍. xx Nicole, LTH Team Member
Agreed! Christy-Lyn often says that the harp really shines around Christmas time, and listening to these songs I can't help but agree! xx Nicole, LTH Team Member
Hi Carrie I really enjoyed all these songs. I have more than one favorite. I like Mary did you know and the lyrics are so clever. Thank you for this video and sharing. 🙂
Hey girl! I’ve been playing harp since I was a kid, however, because of my necessary dedication to medicine and medical school unfortunately, I’ve lost touch with music and it’s been a real hit to my soul for more than a decade. I really think that’s awesome that you posted this, would love to talk more if you’re open from a. Fellow harpist with love.
I don’t even know if there’s a way to message on UA-cam ha ha but I have a an Instagram also not sure how you get in contact with your fans lol and I have a beautiful thormahlen harp
Hi Abigail, Christy-Lyn here! I don’t know if Carrie has seen your comments yet but I thought I’d pop in to say hi. Remember it’s never too late to come back to the harp! I also had far less time for music in some periods of my life - like when I studied Occupational Therapy. I really missed it!! But I promise the flame is still alive (even just a flicker), and when you have a bit of time you will enjoy coming back to music like an old friend ❤️❤️❤️ Sending love!
Thanks Jennifer 🤗😁✨. I love that even Christmas music can have a fun variety too! Merry Christmas and God Bless you and your family too 😁 (almost a month away 🤩) xx Nicole, LTH Team Member
Thanks for the post Carrie! Where can I find your and Christy-lyn’s arrangement of Carol of the Bells? I don’t see it on Learning the Harp’s website and I would really like to purchase it. Thanks! -Cheryl
I always enjoy hearing why people enjoy particular songs 😊 - it was pretty cool! Hope you're feeling extra inspired for Christmas songs this year 😁🥰. xx Nicole, LTH Team Member
How amazing, thanks so much for making this - ultra inspired now :D Think Christmas is going to become my fav time to play harp with all of these beauties!
Ooooh that's a fun idea Connie! I must say, I'm so excited to play Christy-Lyn's 3 hour Christmas Harp music this year at various things 🤩🤩🤩. xx Nicole, LTH Team Member
They're all lovely! - so too difficult to pick a favourite. Also they sound nice and easy to play; however I'm presently working on 3 pieces to play at a Christmas concert on the 3rd December (my first public performance, thankfully I'll be playing with about 8 other harpists!) Glenda
That's so exciting! Which 3 pieces are you working on? I think starting off being accompanied by other harpists feels like a fairly pressure free environment to begin! (as opposed to a solo). Let us know how it goes! 🎄😁. xx Nicole, LTH Team Member
Hi Carrie, thanks for this library of christmas songs and your information! I will definitly try some. Lovely greetings to the whole team! PS, This is still me, Chantal from the Harp Grove, but I accidently changed one of my YT channels😱
Ah thanks Chantal 🤗 I'm glad you clarified, otherwise I'd have thought you were Bianca? 😂😂 It happens to us all! Were there any songs you felt particularly excited to play? xx Nicole, LTH Team Member
@@LearningtheHarp Thabks for your comment. I will certainly learn Mary did you know and What Child is this. Although both mid beginner arrangements (and I can play early and mid intermediate) I love both songs very much! And... I look like myself again.....;-)
The sheet music is linked in the description 😁. You can pop us an email on hello@learningtheharp.com if you have any issues. xx Nicole, LTH Team Member
We've linked to the arrangements in the description - so not as a set 😁. If you are struggling to find anything pop us an email on hello@learningtheharp.com and we'll help you out! 🤗 Nicole, LTH Team Member
What harp are you playing on? I looking for a smaller harp. I have a Blevins encore, 34 string that is 13 years old. Love playing Christy lyn's arrangements. I looking forward to new arrangements from Nicole.
Yup! Carrie's playing on a Ravenna 34 String Lever Harp 😁. We're really excited for the new arrangements that Carrie will be releasing in the time to come 😍. xx Nicole, LTH Team Member
What is the lowest note on this Carol of the bells version? I am struggling to find an arrangement that utilises the bass strings (yeah those that cost so much to purchase...lol) Most arrangements seem to target smaller harps, which is a huge disappointment for us bass lovers. I already have three arrangements of this song and none use the bass....😭
Hi! This arrangement isn’t released yet but coming soon!! 👀🤩🎄There will be 2 levels - this beginner one and an intermediate one too. I don’t know the range of bass notes offhand, but I know the intermediate one uses more bass notes than the beginner one. Keep an eye out for the release - we’ll announce through our email list and on our website 😄✨
One trick for adding more bass notes, is you could play the left hand part an octave lower! Or double up the left hand notes and play them as octaves in the left hand, including a second note an octave below the one written in the music.

A 34-string Dusty Strings harp. You can find the exact model on their website. Enjoy
Dusty strings I’d say Ravena 34.

Thank you for your reply. Looking forward to viewing you on UA-cam
👍♥️🎶
What is your harp resting on? I have a hard time getting comfortable with how to set up my playing space. My harp is 26 strings, about 4 ft high.
