tbh republicans could win the Latino vote if you tone done the anti immigrant rhetoric and play up the evangelical Christian values because a lot of Latinos are devout Catholics
@@sandwitchchan1999 I disagree that the immigration rhetoric turns off latinos, at least when done properly. Latino voters are not against border security. And around 65% of latinos in the USA supported Trump temporary moratorium on immigration due to the coronavirus. Now if the immigration rhetoric is taken too far then latinos will be turned off. Look for instance at the 2016 republican primary, when trump was purposely playing up the immigration rhetoric to fire up the republican base. Back then something like 17% of latinos supported Trump. But now in the 2020 election Trump won a historic amount of the latino vote. The only Republican in the 21st century who won more of the latino vote was George Bush in 2004. If Republicans want to continue making gains with latino voters they need to strike a more moderate tone on economic issues. Hispanic voters are generally socially conservative and economically liberal. They also tend to be small business owners. Pro working class, populist economic policies combined with conservative social policy will easily get Republicans a consistent 40% of the latino vote. Trump’s economic messaging is what led him to do so well with latinos in 2020 in my opinion. And I really hope the Republican Party continues to move in a more populist direction.
@@Thisisstupid427 I’m taking about republicans as a whole, which 27% of Latino voters support are registered Republicans compared to 68% registered Democrat . The reason trump won Florida is mainly because of the large Cuban-American and Venezuelan-American voters who the Trump campaigns painting of Biden the communist really resonated with them because they fled from communism. However, in Arizona, where there is a large Mexican-American population, and remember this is where Joe Arpaio, the strict immigration sheriff lived, those Mexican-American voters, turned off by Joe Arpaio’s strict and often racist policies for hunting illegals down, flipped the state blue for Joe Biden, and Arizona now has 2 democratic senators.
@@sandwitchchan1999 Mexicans are susceptible to the blame capitalism rhetoric because they didn’t live under it like Cubans did. The majority of Latinos are independent like the majority of Americans.
Californian citizens didn't like people breaking the law and entering the US and gaining access to taxpayer programs without paying their share into the system. Sad to see how the bias framing of this view as 'racist' and catering to people's emotions has won. Within 20 years of this video California has now obtained the status as highest percentage of people in poverty, due primarily to millions more poor illegals and their offspring. It costs $14,000 per student per year for elementary to high school education. Why should American's be expected to pay a disproportionate portion of illegal's children's education?
Gamez_Guy 21 California wasn’t really part of Mexico. It was but not in a very stable way. California back then wasn’t very highly populated and the people wanted independence from Mexico. Same thing with Texas. They were a part of Mexico but didn’t consider themselves Mexican if that makes sense.
