    To those complaining about Belmonte’s style I can understand but think about it like this: He chooses not to use his thumb so he is using the other hand just for support. Similar to a basketball shot where they support the ball with two hands at first but then follow through with one (Ballin’ pose). I’ve tried it before and while it gives you much higher spin it’s actually very difficult to do consistently like that, so more power to him for perfecting it.

    • @RobsWorld
      @RobsWorld 5 років тому +136

      @@EngineerCatPyro I don't see how it gives any real advantage... He's not using both hands to spin the ball, that's not how it works--the right hand is the one that creates the spin and revs and while it may be a bit easier to do that without the thumb it actually can be dangerous if it's done wrong (another reason he needs to use his left hand to support the ball when throwing). While Belmo does achieve one of the highest if not the highest rev rates, EJ Tackett gets pretty close with one hand. Sean Rash is also able to do a one handed no thumb style (similar to two handed). While I don't really like the style much myself, I don't know how it violates the rules.

    • @TheBloodmaster
      @TheBloodmaster 5 років тому +190

      @@EngineerCatPyro He only spins with his right hand if you actually pay attention, his left hand only supports the ball since the thumb isnt there. I feel like youre that old dude that is afraid of change. I bet you think all the bullpen changes are ruining baseball too right?

      @mandomercs7 5 років тому +17

    After watching Jason here, I was sure I could do what he did. And, after a couple of practice games, I finally pulled it off and got a strike too ! I think it came in the 6th frame, but was so excited I lost count and it may have been in the 7th. Sadly, a camera malfunction prevented evidence of the feat, but the thrill was there. I'm convinced that with continued practice, one day I may get two !

      I like belmo though I'm one handed, but even I have to doubt that he will be competing at that age. And even if he is it won't be close to what he is now sadly

    • @thepimskiteer
      @thepimskiteer 5 років тому +4

      he'll bowl a little more like simonson, a little slower and more controlled. I don't think he'll ever give up the 2h tech.

    • @odellus
      @odellus 5 років тому +4

      50 isn't old. there are 50 year olds that are in better shape than anyone in these comments. he might not be competing in his 60s or 70s but he is absolutely going to still be around when he's 50.

    • @TheAbele992
      @TheAbele992 5 років тому

      odellus I agree, but he won't be bowling like he is here. I think he'll bowl more like he did in the players championship and the main event thing, slower ball speed with more angle.

    • @blankk9517
      @blankk9517 5 років тому

      TheAbele992 with 1 hand maybe, but I worry about back problems and if he does continue he'll have no speed which means he will have to revamp his game. No way in hell he's doing that little hop to get speed when he's that old

    Belmonte's level of consistency is fucking insane. Not in aiming, but everything else about his throw. Everything is so consistent, that he can adjust his aim and know exactly what the ball will do. Not to mention to do it all two handed, wow. I bowl two handed, but that's because my wrist doesn't allow me to bowl with a heavy enough weight to bowl one handed (I injured it a while back) and it's a massive learning curve (No pun intended). But just getting the fundamentals of two hands down is incredibly difficult and frustrating.

      Try taking out your thumb, using a lighter ball and only your finger tips, it makes a world of difference.

      @killasjanitor 11 місяців тому

      @@DrJUSTICE813 I do bowl, exactly as you mentioned, just with a heavy ball. I wasn't saying what Belmo does is difficult, just complimenting his insane consistency. I used to have consistency when I bowled for a year on a team but have since lost that touch lol

    • @DrJUSTICE813
      @DrJUSTICE813 10 місяців тому

      @@killasjanitor You'd be surprised what a lighter ball can do. One handed, wind back coming out with a hand shake on the 2ns arrow on the right, always hit the pocket for me, but not much hook, just a gradual hook. Maybe 5 or 6 strikes out of 10 tries. But when i missed the honey spot by a little, I'd be left with a damn 7-10 split. A lighter ball i can get more action out of. Nowhere near as consistent as him. It all depended on how oiled up the lane was, cuz i actually had to toss the ball with a shitload of spin, it would hit the lane around the 3rd or 4th arrow, then ride the edge almost in the gutter, massively spinning sideways while moving forward then about 3/4 of the way down, it would break left. If conditions were ideal, I'd get the 1-3 honey spot. If you play Pool, it's similar to the cue balls action when taking a Masse shot, to shoot around an obstacle. Funny though I straight bowled to pick up spares, unless it was a large amount of pins for the spare.

    Anything that gets your ball into the pocket. Whatever floats your boat! I've seen a lot of changes. When I started Bowling 🎳 even the Pros used hockey puck hard rubber balls! Then came soft shell Urathane for strikes and hard shell for spares and even league bowlers like me started carrying two ball bags. Next came reactive resin and there was debate over each change. I agree from watching Jason that his left hand is just there to keep his thumbless right hand from dropping the ball. All his power comes from his strong right hand. The only ones who complain are those who can't imitate his style.
