Dewalt battery with bad connection

- This 4ah xr 18v dewalt battery was only going when pressure was applied.
I checked voltage with my multimeter I checked connections and individual cell voltage. I found one of the terminals to be burnt away so I had an old flexvolt dcb546 6ah battery that I had broken for spare parts .
I then removed one of the terminals from the Flexvolt dewalt 6ah and soldered it on to the 4ah xr battery.

The battery featured is an XR 18v 4ah which would be 20v max in USA. The 4ah has 2000mah 18650 cells connected in 5 banks of 2. Other Dewalt XR batteries are similar in configuration however exceptions are the flexvolt and powerstack which are markedly different for different reasons.
Can you repair a battery? what do I check if my battery stops working or charging? I would say Yes.

It is something for the future it could take time before one of those XGT batteries comes my way. The pouch cell batteries however will put an end to battery repair in time but that will take time too. I never meant to become the battery doctor but it just kinda was a more interesting and deeper subject than I had anticipated. Thanks for your comment having a day off from videos,repairs and my day job the new workspace is set to start construction in the next 2 weeks.
