Replacement arrived!By the way, I did forget to mention that the original lure did have a decent strike however as most anglers will attest you can get a hit ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxCbNOWAGmn6nfbCbJDmasvBq7J38KZNw2 and fish will hang on and release lure. I used the replacement lure yesterday and ran thru a Shimano Waxwing, Kastmaster, Bobber (set to sink). I found the does run deep (I casting on the flats 3.5'). Make sure you adjust your rate of retrieve and rod tip angle (up) to prevent getting snagged on bottom. Used it a couple of times and action was very lifelike (looked like local bait fish for trevally), craftsmanship very good....however eyeball fell out. I asked for replacement and it is on it's way! It was very easy to change out treble to single inline hook.

Love the way that you were able to start with that big Spotted Bass! I've never been in waters where they're at, but I'll bet it's fun!
I ended up getting to do a little bit of a different kind of "Fishing" today, and you'll understand, when I tell you that I was able to talk with someone that's not even a Christian, but that allowed me to share of my Faith in God, and what he's done for me!
I've never told you this before, but when I was 4 1/2 years old, I was stricken with Rheumatic Fever, and it nearly killed me. Even after the symptoms left, it had damaged my heart, and it left me with a pronounced heart murmur. That was in 1967. However, in late 1974, my Mom, my Brother, and I, had started attending this Church that believes in Divine Healing. The Pastor prayed for me, then told me (As an act of Faith), to run back to the back of the Church, touch the wall, and run back up. I just did what he said...and my healing, while it wasn't instantaneous, was progressive.
In 1984, I went to the Clinic to get checked out, and told the Doctor that I had a heart murmur. What he said next, was this:"If you have a heart murmur, I don't hear it"! I knew right then and there, that God had healed me! I praise God for Salvation, for his indwelling Holy Spirit, for Divine Healing, and for ALL he's done for me, and is continuing to do for me!!!

You need a chain drag anchor in a bad way. Take 4 pieces of 12-16” log chain, slide them inside the same size pieces of bicycle inner tube, zip tie the ends but allow for drainage. Hook them onto a big stainless link with a nut. I can usually get a perfect slow drift with 3 sections and can hold solid with all 4. Use 550 cord in a 25’ dog retractable dog leash and a zig zag cleat to make things faster. 😉

I wade a lot of water ways with a lot of overhang. Quickly disabused me of the standard 7’3 med/heavy bass rod.
I use a 6’ medium fast with a BFS or a 6’ light with spinning reel.
I don’t care what anyone says, more maneuverability and ease of use is more time fishing and having fun and can still handle large bass

Late last summer I paddled past one of these things swimming a few inches under the water. It was doing a sort of very slow “S-shaped” upright swimming style in the late afternoon. It was easily 4”+ long. This was in a tidal creek off the Delaware river where the water becomes brackish. At the time, I hadn’t seen any of your hellgramite videos. I’m looking forward to spring.

@@CreekFishingAdventures The bug may or may not have been healthy because I was at the point in the creek where the water becomes significantly more salty and tidal. It was clearly swimming with this “S-shaped” body movement but it didn’t make much headway through the water - more like getting somewhere was wishful thinking. But it was truly a big ugly charcoal black bug at the mercy of the out-going tide.

You can fish it with no problem on a med rod, you just need to use a thinner hook and use the lightest weight that you can get by with, I change weight a lot and hooks so I don’t use hooks with the weight made in them I use Texas rig style rigging, I always have a bobber stop on it incase I am fishing brush piles but open water I just slide the stopper up on the line, it’s better for the weight to slide up the line while fighting fish.

Some nice fish there John. Not trying to be critical since I'm not there but, it seems like the second -4th hook sets looks like too much slack in the line. Always enjoy your content, thanks.
