Patrick, thank you for videos like these. Quite informative and amazing video footage to go with it. This is my second video and let me tell you, your first video on must visit places during Fall made me not cancel my last minute trip to Denver. I am now going to Telluride in less than 2 weeks :)
Glad it was helpful! I'm keeping track of the leaves this year, and they seem to be a bit later than normal. There will be plenty of great foliage around, but Telluride usually is one of the last areas to fully turn. If the leaves aren't at peak when you arrive, I have a quick suggestion: definitely try driving south from Ouray nearby on the Million Dollar Highway (about 45 mins from Telluride). The aspens in that part usually peak 1-2 weeks before Telluride does, so you'll have a good chance of catching peak there if it's a bit early in Telluride!
@@patrickgarrett4647 Thank you for the suggestion. Will definitely plan on driving to Ouray then. I'll be taking US-285 from Denver so hoping to see as much foliage I can manage to view. My travel dates are Sep 30 - Oct 4. Also, I'll be relying on a rental car to drive around. Any recommendation of if I need an All wheel or 4WD car or does 2WD work ? Thank you again:)
@@san-fs8mk You should be totally fine with a 2WD so long you're not planning to do any serious driving off the main roads,/highways, but if it doesn't cost you too much more, than an AWD or 4 Wheel can always be helpful. Just an FYI that if you're planning to go through Gunnison to Montrose on your way down, that Highway 50 between those two cities essentially closes during the weekdays for construction. Not an issue if you're travelling on a weekend, but something to keep in mind. You could alternatively take I-70 to Grand Mesa, and then south through Cedaredge which should have great foliage. Or you could take a detour over Kebler Pass near Crested Butte and take that down to Delta/Montrose, which is one of my favorite foliage areas in the state. Check out my other video on Kebler Pass here: ua-cam.com/video/copKC8u4pog/v-deo.html
Check out this article, as the map on it has what I'd say is generally the most accurate: www.koaa.com/community/colorado-living/everything-you-need-to-know-to-see-colorados-fall-colors
Ohh man I really love this environment. I wish I could come and watch it 😩♥️

Beautiful ❤🤩
Can I make that last drive in a 4x4 Wagoneer?
@Patrick.
I'm planning a Colorado visit during the fall. Are there any fall foliage tracking maps that you use? Please let me know

@@patrickgarrett4647 Thank you
I wasnt too impressed by Boreas Pass last year. Maybe I was a bit early? Didnt see that many aspens though.
The great part about fall in Colorado is that it's never the same from year to year...
