  • Quite a good week it was and the finds - especially the top of Pickelhaube - were so good.
It is so thrilling to go back in time. I find so much stuff left behind by soldiers and every time when its pouring down i imagine how horrible it was to sit in trenches and wait for the commands. It is so peaceful now.

Excellent finds I love that WW1 history. it's been a while since I used the TM 808, but had pretty good luck with it years back.

I do believe that the second thing that you found is the back end of a mortar shell, and if you cleaned it off then I bet you could still see the blast cap. you got lucky to find the fins still attached to the back of the shell, as they often fell off (in the 1st and 2nd world wars because armies didn't recognize the importance of the fins on a mortar) when fired or it explodes. it is probably the fins to a stokes mortar shell. the third thing I guarantee you is a howitzer shell.

Congratulations - again really nice finds! Especially the tip of picklehaube is great. I thought it is too small target for TM, but according to your video, TM is doing even smaller things very well. Thanks a lot for sharing and inspiration too :-)

It`s all listening carefully. Sometimes I've manage to pick up a very shallow Mosin or Mauser shell. But mostly you just walk fast to to the most of the area. Its good to have two detectors and one more person. Sometimes pinpointing with the TM can be hard so its good to use normal detector.

+Hotzenplotz45 i really like your comment. Thanks for that. Its exactly what keeps me going. I always watch metal detecting videos before i go hunting to get myself even more motivated and that was the major goal for this channel. I'm happy and thankful for the feedback. Thanks

Is there any chance the shell casing, which is what I assume that is at approx. 6-7min , could have trace amounts of chemical weapons? I doubt it, but if it was laying just the right way, hidden in crevices..? I’m no expert on chemicals...but I’d be paranoid.
I’m sure there records as to which areas the Germans and / or the Brits or their allies used those type of weaponry.

Wow the top of the German helmet at the end of the video is impressive. You've gained a new subscriber! I am new to the hobby and love it.

Do you take a wheelbarrow with you on your hunts? That's a heavy load of shell fragments to cart out of there! ;) Regards from South Africa.

+Marc Thanks for watching. There are 3 options. Option 1, bring someone with you. Option 2, leave the finds and go back for it. Option 3, every good find you go back to the car. I tend to do 3 and 2 most often as if you find three shrapnel shells you have to have a very, very good friends to cary it around :p

Looking at buying a 808 in the next week or so. Do you by any chance have a machine setup video you could share. Any advice. What's the best depth you have achieved?
    Thanks in advance 👍

+Graham Pybus really sorry for the delay Graham Im currently in UK and my tm is back in Poland but i can describe you in details how to use it to reach best depth.
Its more in preparation than set up. Setup is a minute. Email me on tm.808.md@gmail.com i will describe the whole process Im planning to ad a video how to do it but recently i have no time at all(work)
      Thanks for the comment.

It is part of bomb called shrapnel. It was part of gunpowder line inside shrapnel.

It’s a shrapnel shell gunpowder line. It would spray little lead balls everywhere
