    ***Timestamps below!!
Dr. Ani Kazanjian obtained her Bachelors in Nursing from Johns Hopkins University before serving in the Army as a trauma and perioperative nurse. Her experiences caring for patients motivated her to attend medical school and she recently graduated from Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. She also has a passion for public health and while in medical school she pursued an MPH at University of Michigan, with specializations in epidemiology and healthcare finance.
She is currently a first year orthopedic surgery resident at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. When she’s not reducing fractures, she enjoys hot yoga, anything involving the great outdoors, and hanging out with her son, Sebastian, and their dog, Ginger.

Thank you so much for having this interview! I've been a nurse for 4 years and now just starting ICU. I'm also in the Army and planning to start a family soon. Would love to be able to connect with her to ask questions 🙏🏼

I rarely ever comment on UA-cam videos but this was such a great video and she showed great insight into both the worlds of nursing and medicine alike. I’m currently trying to go into a BS in biology from an associates degree in nursing as an RN with an end goal of going into orthopedic surgery, so this serves as a huge motivation. Thank you for bringing her onto your channel

How do we manage our finances and got back to medical school to be a MD?

Some people take out more in loans to live off of /manage in order to take a bigger load of courses. Some work and take a light course load each semester. Some save up a great deal of money and cut down/cut out jobs to be per diem.
