If you're using this in your house, make sure to track down a wall power adapter. The radio runs at reduced power on AAs to conserve battery life so you'll get increased performance if you plug it into the wall. You need a 6v, 550ma, **CENTER NEGATIVE** plug (do be mindful to get that right or you'll fry the radio.)
I also have one of these, ICF-2003. They do a great job picking up remote SW and MW stations and ham operators, especially when you plug into the wall. I do wish the filter on the FM was narrower but it'll pull really weak stations if there aren't any strong ones nearby to override.
Great vid , I got this last year at a car boot still in the box for £5. Bloke couldn’t say if it worked or not but I got it home and it’s worked fine everyday.
I just picked one up for £26.12 with original packaging that was purchased in May 1988.Previous owner has removed aerial and replaced it with a long wire, there are also connections for running it in your car!Instruction booklet and Sonys Wave Handbook all included,at the same time I picked up the DS version for £40 with postage and both are in excellent condition.I have a new tecsun 660 and both these match what that can pick up,but these have a much better speaker.
I have the exact radio as shown. I am having trouble trying to get it to work the way I want to.all my programs on FM work but when I try to go on the Am it won,t play as I want it to i have to enter the Am freq to hear the station. Its a hard radio to own. I need some help in listening to Am and Fm direct.
Check and make sure it isn't on SSB. I got my 7600DS really cheap because the guy thought it was broken, same symptoms you mention. I flicked it to 'normal' rather than SSB and it worked perfectly.
Hi, no the 7600D is the older version, some buttons are a different colour (am/fm/execute), and the case is a different colour. Some people also think the 7600D is of better quality than the later 7600DS. Certainly things like the metal loop for the wrist strap on the earlier 7600D are better, but in terms of overall performance and reliability I can't find any definitive answer. I've got the 7600DS and love it.
@@yd2712Also, Sony replaced some of the circuitry halfway through production of the 7600D which made the SSB more stable. Some of the 7600D models have this update but all of the 7600DS models do.

I purchased mine in Riyadh December 1988, it’s still working perfectly,
I have this radio and it still works fine. Only the battery compartment door is loose. But I love it. Thank you very much for the review.

You do such a great review. Your really good at this. Great radio. What type of antenna are you using. Best Wishes
I have one really great radio from Sony
What type of antenna are you using?
_Super radio._
I’ve got one as well as the 7600 GR.
Prefer the D.
But my favourite Sony was the Air- 7, mainly because I live near the sea and an airport.
I have a brand new still in the box, was wondering how much I can sell it for
Keep it for yourself forever! Do not sell in any reasons, even when you will not a money to buy a bred.
what external antenna are you using?

Is there night light in this radio?
No, You need a light to see the readout.
