I believe that good musicians can play and listen at the same time. Once, when my lead guitar part came up (in rehearsal) I turned my volume down to see if the others would notice. I was totally drowned out! And so the Lord opened other doors... as He always does.
This is so frustrating as a leader....I spend most of my time taking music out of worship....otherwise there is no where to go when it is not simplified to begin with. Gonna focus even more on this next month....thanks Paul...you bless me.
yea, adults seem to have issues with this sort of thing. I have found if you have musicians that have been playing by themselves for years, it really rubs them the wrong way. Teens are perfect for starting from scratch and teaching them the right way. I know a lot of church bands who have had a lot of strife when it comes to something like this. Most of the time it has to do with being self centered and you will find their worship really isn't about leading people but being seen.

i loved this song....
even lots of so called "worship team" nowadays, are doing the same thing with Balaam
they still sounded very good when they intentionally made it bad.
Balaam?
@JimmyKGuitar Lol, worship bands are ESPECIALLY imperfect.
