Here's a BIG BLOCK powered Road Runner with a 4 speed! It has a 1968 440ci V8 and the factory original "Hemi" 4 speed manual transmission, the factory 8 3/4 posi rear end with 3:55 gears, factory front and rear sway bars, power steering, power disc brakes, custom performance dual exhaust, and that super cool Hurst pistol grip shifter! The engine has an Edelbrock intake manifold, an Accel coil, Taylor wires, chrome valve covers, and a new Autolite Platinum battery. The interior has incredibly comfortable black vinyl seats, black carpet, remote driver's mirror, seat belts with shoulder attachments, and a nice factory gauge package. The look of this Road Runner is completed by the Road Runner decal kit, and a brand spanking new set of BFG tires. (245/60/15 front & 275/60/15 rear) This thing is SO fun to drive! It has tons and power and sounds MEAN!
Damn, what a bad ass looking car. I also like that color of orange.
You don't see the arm rest / buddy seat / 4-speed combination very often, that's what mine had and it was awesome, very comfortable... and fast... with a very built screaming 340 under the hood. Great memories!
No sound like a Mopar. :D
These cars are so under appreciated in m.o....
Now that's what you call a real Road Runner and 4 speed. I had a white with black stripes fun car to drive.
Agreed! You just can't go wrong with a Road Runner!
Either a 69 or 73 Roadrunner that's the only way I'll go

440= 7.2 liters. That is far from small.
Isn't this paint color called "Hemi Orange"? I'm thinking of painting my 2004 Dodge Ram that color.

Can anyone tell me where to get quarter panels for a 73 Road Runner..????
The only way to go in a roadrunner 440 or 383 with manual transmission I miss my muscle car at a 340 Duster I was young and dumb never get rid of it
Weren't we all.
is it a factory u code car ? sweet ride !
What is a "hemi" 4 speed? Does it have hemispherical gears?
Hemi is the brand of engine and 4 speed is the kind of transmission it has.
there was a "hemi" 4 speed the differnce was the hemi one had a differnt number of splines on the input shaft than the normal 4 speed this made it stronger....only the hemi and the 440 6 pack cars came with them i think...but alot of people ended up with them from junk yards swamp meets etc so it is a nice addition to have the stronger hemi strength 4 speed
Stardust Dream Factory
Hemi is the brand that made the engine for these cars, that's why it's called a Hemi. "440" on the engine represents the engine's size, which is 440 cubic inches (440ci). 440ci is 7.2L. And "4 speed" refers to the number of gears the car has, in this case, it has 4 gears, unlike the modern manual cars of today which have 5-speed or 6-speed manuals.
Hemi wasn't the brand, Hemi stood for "Hemispheric combustion chamber" meaning the combustion chamber in the 426 and smaller, earlier engines were shaped like a semi circle. Most combustion chambers use this design, but mopar coined the phrase "Hemi" and it's been associated with them ever since. They were first known as Chrysler Firepower Engines, but Hemi is less of a mouthful. 👍
440 hemi im in heaven mopar heaven 2 b exact
GunsnRosesfan2012 the hemi wasn’t offered in 73 if that’s a 440 it’s been put in there because the biggest Engine you could get an a 73 Road Runner for speed was the 400 big block all the 440s came with automatics.
Yeh id love to restore my 73 RR to look as tho it came factory with a 426hemi....
Needs a new hood decal, that one's peeling...
It's no big deal.
toss those silly bumperettes
I had one that was the 440 I had a cam so thick in that son-of-a-b****I s*** you not you could hear every cylinder fire off stall with a 727 torqueflite in the rear I had a 456 8 3/4 sure grip.
440 not a hemi 426 is a hemi
