      Oh never mind now i see base 10 is my final because its the expansion of decimal which is typically to the 10th power therefore its a sub 10 correct?

      @@ahmadsayed4007 Correct. The original value was base 8. We did a decimal expansion, so the result is base 10.

    dumb question, if 2 is to the power of 0 then how is the result 2 for the octal example?
