This is good stuff..this is what 5th scale is all about..pulling apart shit and fixing it..for me anyway..not just throwing more money at immediately..always liked your videos ..i have this on the way from Ali Express so this was good to see. I will take your advice and remember to lightly pull..in short distances
Every time I keep rebending my pull springs on lawn equipment they break after a few pulls now I just replace the spring . Sucks when there’s work to be done and we have to keep fiddling with the damn spring all the time lmao 🤣.
paul Voon it is easy. Just annoying that the spring keeps breaking. These springs dont like to be bent when cold by the looks. So doing it with heat next time 😎😎😎
Ryan exactly. Not sure what happened when I broke it. Think I was having starting issues and frustrated yanked on a fair few times. Didn't think it would affect it but obviously did.
Putting my Auto Mechanic Hat on, that Spring you snapped, is Special Tempered and Hardened Spring Steel... If you can't find a replacement, it is possible to fix. To bend Spring Steel, you have to first heat it up. Looks like you've got a fair bit of kit in your Shop..... Have a Torch with a small Nozzle?? If so, you want to CAREFULLY pull the broken end of the Spring away, and clamp a couple of Vise Grips about 4-5cm away from the end. (Those will act as heat sinks. The rest of the Spring *can't* get too hot, or it will be useless as a Spring!!) Then, heat up the end until it JUST starts to get red. At that moment, grab your Pliers (or whatever they're called down under!! 😜), and bend the end to what the correct U shape it's supposed to have. DON'T cool it in water! You'll make it brittle! Let it cool down at least a half hour. Then cool it off the rest of the way. Reinstall, and you SHOULD be good until you can find a new one. 🍺🍺🍺🍺 Carmine ⛽
Heat the end you want to bend to cherry red and let it cool slowly to anneal it don't quench, its spring steel so if you bend it without annealing it you will end up with a stress point and will keep snapping. when annealed the spring should bend easily and be less prone to snapping.
Only 5th scale yep agree. Stock engines with stock pull starts no problems. Start going bigger more comp engines the good old stock starters dont cut it.

laurent gouriou I hope it works out for you
BOTAJELL only problem is I cant find a replacement spring for this unit. Sorta sucks😠😠😠
laurent gouriou that sucks . I hope it works out for you brother and not give you any headaches 🤞! Take care have a good day
Any need to vent these puppies? Just about to put mine on!
seems like a good idea to vent them but not sure if it would be good for the pullstart. dirt does create issues for these pullstarts.
Hey mate, is the rovan super easy starter a direct screw on for CY and Zenoah engines? any mods? thanks
If you buy the complete kit yeah it is a direct fit for the Baja's. Never tried one on a Losi 5T.
@@me8u73 thanks mate, il buy one! i thought you had to modify the fly wheel or something
Seem..it easy to fix it back..bend the end of the spring and roll the spring bar back to the mount.....done

laurent gouriou yeah.....agree
Hey. Order a bulstarter from 45ss. It is larger.
Andrey Bo got another tr pull start on it's way.😎😎😎
Nice! I prob get one seems worth it for the price! Just as long I don't pull to hard on it!

Did u you buy it on aliexpress?
Ryan yep. For me it's the cheapest around. Just have to wait 2-3 weeks for it to arrive.

PoorManRC awesome thanks mate. I did buy a propane gun yesterday and will try this trick. Heat sinks a new trick thanks.

CRAIG DEVINE awesome info there thanks mate. Going to get a butane bottle and give it a go. Thanks mate.
