There's a quote from Tim Brien in the novel called "The Things They Carried", and it goes along the lines of, "in war, there are no morals. If you feel uplifted by a war story, that some rectitude happened from all the bloodshed, you have been made the victim of a very old and terrible lie."
This theme really captures the fear of the Germans of this fast, brutal, relentless pissed off 1,000,000 Soviet soldiers charging towards Berlin. Also captures the rage and vengeance the red army was feeling while invading Germany.

Damn Treyarch, I miss you.
I always loved how the theme of Russians in any ww2 game was slow and steady like this. Often with choirs of people singing in unison. Russia in ww2 fought long, they weren't fast to adapt to the initial threat, but they slowly yet surly held firm against seemingly infallible military stratagem. They ground their enemy to a halt, explosed the cracks in their plan, and struck with their hamer chisel against these imperfections, chipping away at their foe. They fought as one group, united by the common plight they faced and when the enemy came to meet them, they were met with a foe that was unrelenting and filled with unwavering resilience
I’m gonna say this real quickly: the only reason why I prefer the battlefield campaigns is because you get an insight into both sides and the enemies don’t just feel like mindless meat things with guns. But not a single battlefield game will ever rival the campaign for world at war
This game was one of the few pieces of media of any kind that managed to make WW2 feel like the shockingly apocalyptic, history-sundering event it actually was. There's definitely something thrilling and sublime to the earth-shaking grandeur of these two armies grinding against each other like steel continents, which this track also captures (I mean c'mon it's cool as shit), but in the end I especially admire and appreciate the game's entire theme of industrial-war-as-horror-story, where the inexorable logic and machinery of this conflict itself is the monster stalking men and tearing them apart before your eyes, opening its own portal to hell you've all fallen into together. I think it's one of the best shooter campaigns of all time, I still think about it over 10 years after playing it that Christmas in 2008 (obviously, otherwise I wouldn't be here), and it needs a remaster more than just about anything.

And now.. ever since that day, whenever I hear this theme, I feel myself having the nostalgia, but getting the flashbacks and the thoughts of what war is really like. But today I am 17 years old, and I want to say, that this game was life changing. One wish I could have, is to please remaster this game, so I can experience it all over again. Thank you treyarch.
I've haven't played cod waw in years and I still remember this and I can't remember the latest cod soundtracks
Even years after I played this game for the last time and left, that melody is still welded in my brain and I love it.
Can't stop coming back to this masterpiece
"After this mission, do you think we can go home?"
"As our planes rain death from above, CRUSH THERE FINAL POSITION!"
"Go Dimitri! The flamethrower! Boil them in their steel coffins"
when this came up in my playlist i almost cried from nostalgia.
Played this at home
Now my fridge is empty
@Nguyễn Viết Nam that is crime not communism you idiotic bandit

@@lasagna5032 is 'haha no food' going to become the new 'attack helicopter' joke? i hope so, it's fucking obnoxious
3:42 à 4:10. My favourite part. You can feel the challenge of the war, all these casualties, these generations sacrificed, who fight to the death.
pov: you are a teenager who has played this game for one of the a thousandth times and you set the game to veteran and all you are hearing is this song and 80 grenades exploding on you
The blood in my veins chills when I think of the events of that day
World at war gotta be one of the best cods ever made.
Start of mission: "Dimitri, ready the flame thrower! Now take closer look at those RATS on the horizon! They will be the first to burn this day!"
End of mission: "A great victory is ours! On to Berlin! URAAAAA!!!!!"
@Coll of kids Coll of kids 2 You're right, ta for the correction
The music that pumped my blood full of adrenaline and hype when playing as the Sovjets.
Blood and iron from World At War is still my favorite call of duty mission of all time
I found it pretty bland. And believe it or not I actually liked the call of duty WW2 tank mission better cuz it was in a first person view.
0:27 goes from 0-100 fast af
As a german, i can say this terrifies me
very good
@@Dumpsterfire95 indeed
As it should
Battle of Sellöw
Germans: we destroyed 700 plus tanks but they keep comming
the female chorus for this song is amazing, and what made me remember this song
This is what we lost, we shall never again be gifted such a masterful piece of media in our lifetime
For people, looking for instrument from 2:55 and 3:43 - it's *BALALAIKA*
From Black Lagoon?
@@TPDManiacXC626 What do you mean? The instrument is called Balalaika.
@@skksksalslsllsslzlzkdinpap5451 She's a character from an anime called Black Lagoon, I guess the creator named her after the instrument.

Tell me about it.
The best song in all of cod waw....FOR MOTHA RUSSIA!!!
Gina Gibson It’s mother not morha
Motha
Listening to this on my way to Berlin
Bro 💀
On the way to the smelly autistic special band kids division.
It's very sad knowing that this will NEVER happen again
I remember when I was so unstoppable on this mission that I didn't take even one hit and I didn't lose any of allied tanks... that felt great
I kept dying over and over again cuz I couldn't figure out who was shooting me 😂
"They stand for Germany....they die for Germany, building by building. Room by room, one rat...at a time"
14 years have passed, but I still can't forget the horror when I first play this...
2:55-3:20 that's my favorite part of this
*2:53
"as long as you live, the heart of this army can never be broken.... And things will be change my friend.... We will return to Russia's embrace. "
-Viktor reznov
T-34 tanks are made out of pure stalinium steel that can self heal lmao
And destroy a King Tiger head on
You can feel the might and awesomeness of the USSR in this song.
yeah, the awesomeness of millions dead by communism, nothing awesome in USSR
ua-cam.com/video/tpH5L8zCtSk/v-deo.html THIS is awesome
Ussr sucks they couldnt beat finland by 1940
Surprise ModaFoca your "awesome" military got their ass beaten and had to run home with tail between their legs by a bunch of farmers with AK. Yeah so "awesome".
The russians military pride is awesome but stalin killing millions of his own citizens .(hes a hitler v2)but didnt really conquer the world
"Mark my words comrade, one day things will change. We will take the fight to their land, to their people, to their blood!"
"Dimitri, ready the flamethrower
Good, now take a closer look at those rats on the horizon
They will be this first to burn this day!"
this song is awsome
My favorte soundtrack
this game is the reason i have a panic attack anytime i see a grenade indicator
2:10 is the only thing the germans heard at Seelow
Old times... still gives me goosebumps
This is the best soundtrack in the entire game. I still have goosebumps all over my body.
Sergeant Reznov: Dimitri, ready the flamethrower. Dimitri" shoots the flamethrower. Sergeant Reznov: Good! Now take a closer look at those rats on the horizon. They will be the first ones to burn this day.
*that one MOMENT you first started the mission*
They made it so badass!
Back when COD was good.
The heart of this army can never be broken if this song stays alive
When I die. Bury me with this playing.
So my enemies will see. One last time. What I standed for.
Cod waw: playing the American missions so you can finally get back to the main event in Russia
Someone: “That guy looks so depressed with his black hood and headphones. What is he listening to?”
His headphones:
I’ve listened to this so many times I can sing along with the Latin choir at the beginning
Long live the Motherland and USSR!
