    Thank you so much for doing this video! After 3 years of playing with Yonex Mavis 2000 I convinced my club to switch over to Victor 3000. The Mavis 2000 were no longer durable & required too much effort to hit clears from end to end. My club found it easier to hit the Victor 3000 with less effort but its flight speed is slower than the Mavis 2000. Hopefully we will have less arm & shoulder injuries. Myself have switched from playing feather shuttles part-time to full-time. It's going to be expensive but will be worth it. I know many players who are always injured & visiting doctors or physiotherapists & still won't try playing with feather shuttles unless someone else pays for them. My suggestion is if the only option is to play with plastic shuttles then play with the model that gives the least amount of vibration when you hit the shuttle.

      Hi! T! Yes I think if you can afford feathers then do! It's such a lovely game. Buy the best feathers you can as they will last longer and cost you less money. It costs us £2.50 extra per person per club night to supply feathers. Not too much is it?

    • @TheHi-T
      @TheHi-T 6 років тому +1

      Thanks for your reply & reminder. I do spend more on feather shuttles. When I am asked by other players I say I spend more on goose feather because they will last longer & in the end cost me less money.

    I think coming up with a grading system against the feather ones would be great. And another one against the most popular or traditional plastic birdie. You could based it on:
    1. Flight characteristics - spin, reach, drop, flight path (graphic)
    2. Racquet hit: Ball effect (that lumpy feeling like hitting a small ball with yr racquet, what hitting a heavier plastic shuttlecock feels like;, Cut - as in cutting or a shaving shot; and netshot tumble; Clipping;
    3. Service characteristics: Control (directionability); Speed (trick serves?); height
    Etc.

    Thank you for the suggestions and review on the shuttlecocks! Feathers are always preferred, but are just so darn expensive to play with regularly.. will definitely try the CS No 1. Just saw online from a local sports equipment store that there's a CS No 2 so I decided to get a tube and give it a whirl as well.

    I used carbonsonic 1 for a year now, all i can say about it is, a shuttlecock lasts only one game, breaks easily than real feather ones. Another thing is it takes forever for it to recover its position in mid air, meaning it wobbles so much. Very expensive also not worth it.

    I'm currently very much enjoying the Hyper Sonic 6000 by Shu-fli-Go. I like the blazing speed, control and string rebound the 6000 brings to my game. My favorite factor is how the shuttle takes string english from cat gut strings. For example, I can put counter clockwise english on the shuttle, and the shuttle will actually slow screw spiral at an unpredictable rate to the left a distance of anywhere from 3-7 feet and slow climb to 8" - 24" with a firm mid-racket strike from back court! This feature is highly disorienting to most racket slashers. I'm also super excited for Shu-Fli-Go release of the Hyper Sonic 9000 scheduled for 2023 with nano-carbon and unabtainium feathering structure. With the new variable, in flight feather vectoring technology this is expected to usher in a whole new era of direct-ability, controllability and in flight variable speed control, all adding even more excitement to the game! Enjoy the channel very much, thank you for sharing!

      Me too, and that concerns me a lot. The shuttle-making business provoke many atrocities. Very sad and heartbreaking for us but deadening for animals and human children who are working in the factories pulling the feathers out while the geese and ducks are alive.
      Badminton is a beautiful sport but I will only play and buy synthetic shuttles. The trajectory and feel of synthetic shuttles are not worse, just different. But if someone is used to feather shuttles she or he will prefer feathered ones. If someone only plays synthetic shuttles then feathered ones will not be missed. But ok, feathered shuttles are now the benchmark of shuttles due to their long time use.
      I am hopeful as to someday there will only be synthetic shuttles on the world tour because the industry managed to make shuttles that fly and feel as the feathered ones

    I read online that most flagship racquets feel weird with plastics. Would be really helpful if you could explain the 'weirdness'. I want to buy a duora 10 or z strike but wanted to know the cons of using plastics with it.
    Is it true that the higher up you go with raquet quality, you HAVE to move to feather?

    • @ClubRackets
      @ClubRackets  4 роки тому +3

      It's true the top rackets are designed for use with feathers but you can also use them for plastics.
      Personally I find cheaper (or just more flexible) rackets suit playing plastics more than the stiffer more expensive ones. I use an Arc Saber 11 to play plastics as it has a more flexible shaft than some of the other japanese yonex rackets.

      @ClubRackets  6 років тому

      Malith Withana I would say with plastics you will find it easier to generate power with a Head Heavy or slightly Head Heavy racket. So anything from the Yonex Voltric or Astrox range, Victor Thruster or Jet Speed S12 or Kawasaki King K8.

      This actually for my father as a gift I'm buying. He is an intermediate player who most of the time require some power from the racket itself. He likes to smash and he plays doubles.

    No mention of the absolutely abysmal performance of the Carbonsonic at the net? You need to play it in a game against some good feather shuttles. The Carbonsonic drops like a stone. It is an interesting novelty, but not really a playable option IMO. It also seems to move slightly right to left on long hits. The Bird2, on the other hand, is, as you mentioned, an excellent shuttle. Not quite feather, but remarkably better than all the Yonex and "Yonex style" plastic shuttles. The body of the Bird2 seems to be remarkably durable, the corks eventually split and fall off when they are worn out, that said, they last a very long time in play and are an excellent value IMO.

    Unfortunately the Victor CS is (sorry for this comment) shit. A quite strange flight trajectory, very different from real feather as well as plastic shuttles.at the top of the curve it strikes kind of a hook. Furthermore they are quite expensive and easily break due to mishits. As long as you hit this shuttle properly, only onto the cork tip, they will last. But who is able to play without any mishit?
    Compared to the new Kawasaki King Kong 500 hybrid shuttles I think, after testing nobody would even consider to continue with Victor CS. The King Kong 500 are significantly cheaper, last longer than 100% feather shuttles, but have almost the same flight characteristics. Great job from Kawasaki.

      I think it is a very high quality feather manufactured by Yonex but I am unsure.

    So, most of these come in three different speeds. Don't you think that also matters in reviewing the shuttlecocks?

      SiavashSiavashS yes speed matters but I get very little demand for fast or slow plastics. You should always play with the correct speed for your climate.

    Disappointed by Bird 3... I just bought 12 of these and two games is all it took for the cork to come flying off this shuttlecock. Sadly not as visible as the yellow Yonex the older players prefer, so despite flying beautifully, it's been given thumbs down by the club, not strong enough, not visible enough.

      Have you tried the Babolat Hybrid Challenge Shuttles? They fly just like feathers but are more durable. They arent yellow of course but give a much better game experience than plastics.

    Can someone comment on Victor Carbonsonic No. 2 ?

  •  4 роки тому +3

    I just see this video 2 yrs after, but I had the impression, that you get payed for this review... The Mavis 300 gives enough durability, that is why the best selling one, and the Victor carbonsonic is a trash, I tried more than once, and before riches the top of its rise it turns sideways, and that is the way finishes its course, offering lot of opportunity for mishits.
    It looks like a feather, does NOT like the feather, and worse than any of the Mavis plastics!

      I think I am using the Blue (3U) Astrox 77 in this as it is nice and heavy.

    Many players say plastic destroys racket string is this true?

    • @ClubRackets
      @ClubRackets  5 років тому

      Jerick Carlos Mangalus Yes they do seem to have more impact on the string tension than playing feathers.
