My late father from the Island Of Nevis, Loved Her Music. He would be hugging her album while playing the music, with my late Mom watching him with the side eyes. Great Music ! Phenomenal Singer..🙏🏾🙏🏾☀☀🎼🎼

She was best friend to my older sister. She was always at the house in Newport. We knew all the words to her songs. Super nice lady. ❤

I knew Sonya personally. She never taught my class, but she taught at my school, and was a friend. She sat on our sofa at home and sang for our family one night after a concert. It was magical; as a result I learned to play the guitar. she was a fun, and outgoing person with an infectious laughter. She actually taught Art and Agricultural Science at Cross Keys Secondary School: Now Cross Keys High School, in south Manchester, Jamaica. This is a fitting tribute to her!

I remember Fantasy because it was one of the first songs I heard that got me into reggae music/lovers rock when I was 12 years old. Thanks for this video because I really knew very little about her and I can't say I hear her songs very often either.

She had a gentle, girlish emotional voice heavily based on renditions of popular music track. I only discovered about Seven years ago of her passing ❤ Sonya Spence's album Sonya Spence Sings Love of '81 rremains my favorite of all her releases..

The name of the barber was Chambers who was owner of The Thoroughbred Band. Chambers produced Sonia Spence’s first hit song, Jet Plane. She owned an ovation Electric Acoustic guitar. Sonia Spence was a friend of mine.
