@@TheWildNorth Between my Dad and I, we both spent 3 hours filleting out fish and our arms and fingers were numb. The flies were no joke either! Can't imagine another 2 hours on top of that!! I should have had a few darts while filleting to keep me motivated and to keep the flies away. haha
Hey Andrew.....Hope to see another one sooner rather than later.....👍.....side note....Lady in Valley View used to can jackfish....it became.....Damn Good....✌to Ben too....
Thanks for taking us along on your fishing trip! So good to see you in action. The fish cooperated too!! Great thing you do for your people!! Blessings and continuing success to you!
Great day, that lake impressed me so I looked it up, deepest lake in North America and 10th largest in the world , those lakers gotta be good eating👍🏼thanks for taking us along!!
Good to see you again brother. I’m new to western Canada and just drove to Lesser Slave. It was too windy to fish. But I really want to visit your neck of the woods.
I bought like that one, I am putting a cab on this winter. We do the same down here to Gill netting , I if it can some time send some pictures next spring if I get my boat Finish. I gill netting out in georgian Bay area. Take care.
Heap of food there for your community, well done! How does that camera pan around and zoom in and out? Is there a third person? Just wondering. Cheers 👍😎
Hard to beat that catch! May all the waves stay small. I have to admit I was kind of hoping for that stunned floater at 12:49 to get away, and he did by the feeble flick of his fishy tail.
He lives to make more baby's for me to catch next summer. I usually let them go as well they fought to get out of my net they deserve to stay off the dinner plate today!
Sometimes break a mesh or two. Second year with these nets they there is great shape will get a few more years out of them. These nets already caught thousands of fish. Some fishnlike trout are harder on nets because there big mouth and teeth
@@TheWildNorth Your a humble man Andrew.... filleting for 5hrs is no joke. The elders and your community are blessed to have you and Ben looking out...the Metis way !
Another great day in the north Andrew! That was a lot of fun watching that haul today. What do you guys do with all the fish carcasses after cleaning the lot? Bear food/bait? Gotta be a lot of great fish head soup I tell ya!!! Looks like a great time and always great to see a community effort like that. That would be something I'd love to help out with. I saw you guys may have gotten some rain last night. I hope that knocked down the fires! Be well brother.
Some.ofnthe heads get eaten and guts as well. I kept all the trout heads for bait. There's not.much left after there fileted. Dump the left over guts in the bush the birds and ritters clean emup over night. Stay tuned
We prioritize the elders here in the our small community. If you are hungry we will feed you. Wen you come you leave with a full belly. We are taught this at a young age it is how it has always been. Stay tuned
why did he keep yarding in the net piling netted fish on top of each other undoubtably tangling the net all to hell rather than stripping each fish out and keeping the net mostly tangle free? seems like a poor choice to me but thats why i am asking.. i am no commercial fisherman
Wen you reset a net you just work the float line nothing more. Believe Me if i was tangling our net any to make it harder to set I would not do it that way. I been running nets a long time my friend we know what we are doing now the older nets with the big leads yes it has to be boxed a special way. Bit nets change over time like everything and the designs get better. Once we picked all.our fish that net is ready to go right back in the water. Thanks for commenting.
Glad to see you and Ben looking after the elders first.I respect the effort and hard work you guys put out.
God's using ya'll to provide for these elders.... Be blessed for your work .. and I'm grateful for you both !

That should feed a bunch of families 👍
I was thinking about you just the other day.

How often do you replace nets, awesome fishing😊
Them nets I been useing for 2 summers they Will produce fish for years and years. Nets full of hol3s catch fish.
That is tonne of work. Hard on the back and hands.
It's not that bad it's easier then shoveling gravel. Stay tuned buddy

Are the nets reusable or do they break getting fish out?
There reusable. Been useing these nets for 2 summers. They caught a lot of fish already.
I gill netted and we called that chocker block. S Louisiana.
You coming back for a visit?
Oh yeah I'll be back on the line for some trapping here soon. Got the ace ready to go.
Can someone tell me who manufacturers that particular boat, please.
Nice looking rig.
Harbourcraft
@TheWildNorth Thank-you!
Where can I buy this fish?
Best bet is to go down to the dock or the fishermen warf and buy direct from the fishermen
I hope they're REALLY for the elders!

Score! HELL YEAH
Wouldn’t it be cheaper and just as traditional to go to the grocery store or order a couple thousand pounds of fish from a supplier?
At $10 a fillet i dont think so
In 2 days we put 360 fillets in the deep freeze.
When are the trapping videos coming buddy ?
In New York you are allowed 1
