    Love the Pebble 2. Its important to note that the idea behind a smartwatch is not to replace your smartphone but to use your smartphone more efficiently. Pebble does just that with showing all notifications, having voice replies and key apps like uber which could be easier to call using a watch. Excited to get my kickstarter edition pebble 2

    The watch is actually waterproof. That's a big seller for me. Every other watch in that price range isn't.

    App Store didn't have any good or useful third party apps?
    Here's the question what do you do for a living? I like the review up until the opinion of apps. Do you use the travel apps? They notify you of your upcoming flight and send you message if their are delays, cancellations or gate changes?
    Do you take Uber or Lyft? Yesterday ordered dinner using the watch.
    So perhaps reconsider that section. Other than that cheers!

    Actually during workout you can see steps and pace. During active workout hit the bottom button on the screen and switches

    You made a mistake. Notifications like emails do not stay on the watch face until manually dismissed. The default is 3 minutes before it disappears, but you can change it to one minute, 15, or to never disappear until dismissed. Maybe yours is on that last setting.

      Theta Sigma This is interesting to know as I'll be getting my kickstarter Time 2 soon and was worried about the dismissing thing. Glad to know it can be changed.

    Battery life was a big one for me. I get 1.25 weeks out of the pebble smart watch battery before I have to recharge. Watch battery not lasting more than 2-3 days is ridiculous.

      Jason C. RIght? Its so dumb, smartwatches or fitness trackers should last 4 days minimum.

    Waterproof is a mention-worthy feature, and have always liked their screens.
    From a Paste Mag review:
    "While the black and white screen does feel like a step back after the Pebble Time, it has several distinct advantages. The contrast is better than the Time and no straight up LCD watch display even comes close to the visibility of the Pebble 2 in sunlight. More importantly, the screen is alway on so using it as an actual watch doesn’t feel like a gimmick or afterthought."

      well they said that because of typhoon that hit china and taiwan shipments will start very slow at first but within a week or two (which is about now) they'll increase and by the end of october most shipments will be sent...

    I think you can dismiss notifications by pressing the button on the left, there's no need to go into any menus or long press the middle button. At least that's the way it works in the 1st gen Pebble, I haven't got my Pebble 2 yet. They decided to prioritize retail stores over people who helped bring this project to life by backing them on Kickstarter.

    Yeah, to those who are still googling about it, Pebble is officially announced “dead” this morning by Dr. Fitbit. Along the way, we have a great experience as a pebble fan, and now it is time for us to say R.I.P to Pebble as a smartwatch pioneer which lights up the way for other smartwatch companies.
    Since there is no any news showing they will be coming back. Why don’t we consider other smartwatches which are equally good and part of the Android family?
    Here are 3 top picks:
    Samsung Gear S3 - Link to product page (www.samsung.com/global/galaxy/gear-s3/)
    Ticwatch 2 - Link to product page (en.ticwear.com)
    Rugged Option: Nixon (store.google.com/product/nixon_the_mission)

    Hello. I need your help. I'm interested in whether this pebble recognizes Georgian font or not. If you have time please tell me does your pebble recognise this text: ქართული. Please write it in the note app synced with pebble or something like that. Thank you in advance. It means a lot to buy new Pebble

    how is it when navigating a music playlist with over a thousand songs?? since it is not touch based, .. is it hard?? because you will need to click for every tracks.. or does it offer a way to scroll faster??

    • @wintrymix
      @wintrymix 7 років тому

      You don't have access to the playlist on your watch. It just controls the music on your phone (start, stop, pause, skip, volume). You'd have to either skip or create smaller playlists for different situations so you wouldn't have to skip.

    • @denniszenanywhere
      @denniszenanywhere 7 років тому +1

      That's the thing with tech devices, sadly. They seem to have an expiration date. I have Samsung Note 3 and battery only lasts shorter than 5 hours even if with new battery.

    • @ihalloway
      @ihalloway 7 років тому

      at that time it was same 5 hours if u were using internet maybe bit longer and maybe by a bit u can improve battery life, but thing is web browsers changed to new phone appeal, thats why older phones draw more battery power...
      I now using my galaxy s 1, when im using internet as usual battery drops, other than that it holds almost full day with several calls

    for me the pebble 2 sucks. it doesn't check my heart rate. it can only check my heart rate if i stick the back of my finger to the optical meter.
    then you have the step counts it sees every movement I make as a step. if i take the care, public transport or my bice you have walked for ... min no I didn't. even the fact the watch is for the every country way can you only talk/dictate a message in English.
