Hi nicola.im a new subscriber.have been watching u with a while but never subscribed.ye are a very busy farm.hope ur back feels bit better by now.swimming or anything to do with water helps a sore back.where in the republic of ireland do ye get yer cattle from.hope calving goes well.ye are off to a great start with the 2 sets of twins.greetings from Ireland.
Hi Nicola as someone who suffers from a collapsed lower back, I fully sympathise with how you are feeling and hope it improves for you very soon, it will be nice to see more of the cattle and looking forward to what else you have planned for the channel.
Wow at Davy’s speed shear time! You will probably find that your back will ease as you get going. It’s always getting going that is the worst. Is bouncing around in vehicles causing it? If so see if your viewers can recommend stuff depending on what machinery is worst for your back.
Hey, I am doing this method this year. Do you have any advice ? How many teaser tups to ewes? How many weeks do you put teasers in before the actual tup? Just heard so many different theories from people who don't do this method. Thanks
For 4 to 6 weeks before teaser ram goes in - sheep have to be well away from rams including ram lambs this is important for it to work . Then teaser ram let in for 15 days then take him out and let rams in .About two thirds of the sheep should be tipped in approximately 7 days so ram ratio should be 1 ram to about 20 sheep for those day's .the one third that's left will be tipped over following 2 - 3 weeks .
Thanks for the video nicola. Love all the different bits in it. Mind yourself. I know it's not easy on such a busy farm. Did ye sow turnips for the ewes lamb to grass for the winter this year?
Not to be maudlin but I may have missed why you're presuming your pain is fully down to an orthopaedic issue. Pelvic pain might be many other things. Go see your quack about it and have a good diagnostic scan.
Hi Nicola
Apologies are not required from yourself! You are sharing your full and purposeful life 😊

Have you considered using the ram effect instead of sponging ? Very good results but has to be done right .

Hope your back has settled. It's a nightmare when you want to get stuff done and you're in pain
Just teaser of the ewes no need for sponging wrecks sheep in the end IMO
