This one looks very nice. However i wouldn't put this kind of net on anything else then a decoration. And it's just because of a snake knot. It looks very nice, but as a single knot it is a bit unstable. So - decoration, wonderful. Climbing or protection, i would say it's half way there 😁 Anyways, a wonderful project! Nice work!
Great video!! So glad you went slow for each step, so very easy to understand that way!! Thank you!! Now i can work on making me a hammock!! Great video!!
My dad was a commercial Mississippi River fisherman when I was a kid. I remember watching him make gill nets. He used a net making shuttle. He was fast.
Imagine making a large net, a much larger net, and you had to pull 100+ feet through each hole several times over each knot. (Potentially a life skill nonetheless)
the row direction you're tying in makes a huge difference! If you do what I did and go only right to left instead of right to left then left to right and back again, you'll end up with a weird leaning uneven mess and not a square net!
Nice tutorial, I'll be doing one tied between two sandow to make a detachable net, to carry a bag on my motorcycle and to make sure it doesn't fall off while driving. Thank you!
I found another video by WhatWeKnow that explained if you want it to be 4' you'll probably want a little over 8' of paracord (the top knots use about an inch)
Thanks for the illustration. Problem is there is no information on how many feet is needed for a net? For example a hammock thats 4 feet wide and 7 feet long? This information can then be scaled by feet or inches for other applications.
I am a knots and hitches' fan, and this is one of the best vids for making a reliable net I've seen. Thanks a lot for sharing man!!! Cheers from Alberta-Canada!!!
How do you finish it though? Like we're trying to make a massive net for stuffed animals but how do you attach it at the ends? Or even the sides? To make a rectangle
Thank you very much ! Just imagine me making a net illustrating how to tie a knot in a rectangular shape. You can create a hexagonal spider web, using the same method.
Good morning 👍 Great video and tutorial I have a rather technical question What is the length of each wire if I want my net to be 50cm x 40cm. I can not determine this length before starting 🙂 Thank you in advance for your precious help Dom
You need 12 strings about 3m long, crisscrossing like that with a diamond shape of side 10cm. You need 1 more main string 4.2m long to create the outer square border. Finish the end of the hammock string with a double Overhand knot. Good luck!
Any idea how much length is lost in all the knotting? Say i want to make a 16" by 10" net, naturally I'd have to use more than 10" yeah? Like is 12" enough? More? Thanks
Much easier using a regular overhand knots and not wasting alot of cordage just to make the knot look neat made this the same way using overhand knots and never failed on me
Yes, same. It's early morning here. The guitar music was very nice, but the bell noise startled us. Fortunately our dog, "miss barknado" (not her actual name) slept right through it.
Thank you so much !

@@liemtuduy 1:52 what is the name of that knot please?
So Let's make a bunch of Holes with a String😅
Really appreciated how slow and deliberate you were in showing this technique ! Thank you !!
The bright orange and blue rope with a black background made this incredibly easy to see and understand
Thank You!
... it would have been even beter if the vertical pairs were alernating (different) colours...
@@bertkutoob That wouldn't hurt
What blue rope 🧐😂
Great video!! So glad you went slow for each step, so very easy to understand that way!! Thank you!! Now i can work on making me a hammock!! Great video!!
That's such a great idea!
Finally a net video that uses knots that will never slip!
How about crown knots?
Sadly this is VERY likely to slip under uneven load, even more than with a usual sheetbend, use carric-bends if you want stable
@@najroe Will have to try that!
I'm afraid that the thief knots he's using to join the cords will slip quite a bit. Sheet bends, Reef knots or Carric bends would be better.
What is this knot called? How much strength do you lose with this knot
Im going to make a hammock with this knowledge.
Did you make it? How did it come out?
@@angryginger791 not yet. Thanks for the reminder.
My dad was a commercial Mississippi River fisherman when I was a kid. I remember watching him make gill nets. He used a net making shuttle. He was fast.
Thank You !
I like it. But I wish you had shown how to finish the net at the bottom.
There is no bottom. You just keep making more net.
Imagine making a large net, a much larger net, and you had to pull 100+ feet through each hole several times over each knot.
(Potentially a life skill nonetheless)
Yeah I'm trying to look up how to finish it right now. I can't find it
I imagine we could use the end string and a knot on a bottom length (like the blue at the top)
Your subscribe bell at 0:30 is a crime against humanity, thats loud af
that was cool but how do you finish it
Just imagine him doing it he said
Thats really good, thanks for sharing. Am I the only one that fancying pretzels now!
Thanks for sharing. How do you finish it?
True
I never knew how nets were made! Thank you for posting the Video!!!
How do account for knots and length. Assuming I wanted a 10 ft square net. How long do the strands need to be to start? Thanks
Thank you! Excellent video. I loved the way you worked slow and paused making the process very easy to follow.
Thank For Watching
Tendría que usar 2 colores de cuerdas para ver más fácil

Thank You So Much!
How did you finish off the bottom of the net ???
Благодарю за идею. Буду делать сетку для двух ярусной кровати вместо заводской спинки которая не удобная для спуска, буду делать из паракорда 4 мм.
Love the fact that you used bright orange Paracord and a black background. Thank You.
Great net. Seems to use bends which are stronger than knots and seem to take less rope, making it stronger and lighter than others.
This type of netting is used for netball & basketball hoops
Thank For Watching!
How to finish the bottom?
How do you finish it off at the end?
Thank You!
Hilarious.
NICE TUTORIAL . . . THANK YOU Liem To Duy !!!! MABUHAY !!! jun mozo, davao city - philippines
Nice tutorial, I'll be doing one tied between two sandow to make a detachable net, to carry a bag on my motorcycle and to make sure it doesn't fall off while driving. Thank you!
Thank You So Much!
Great video right up to the ending where you dont show how to finish it.
I completely agree.... how to do the other end of each rope, when you dont have the ends loose like you have in the beginning???
There must be a net that I could make and attach to bottom of chair metal to support cushion. Great vid.
How much rope do you need to make a net? Is there a ratio?
I found another video by WhatWeKnow that explained if you want it to be 4' you'll probably want a little over 8' of paracord (the top knots use about an inch)
How do you finish the bottom? Are you just leaving a bunch of tails hanging there?
Exactly my question.
My net would look awesome until you get to the bottom...just a bunch of shoelace knots down there...
Well, I certainly didn't wake up thinking that I would need to make a net...
Thank For Watching 😊
But how do you connect the end of each rope to make a bigger net
What is this black magic? 😂. Thank you!

Thanks for that idea 👍🏼🇩🇪
Thank you!
Very nice I am going to make a fishing landing net using 95 paracord and your design TYVM
great job on healing nerves!💪❤️👍
nice but how do you finish it off on the other side?
I have no idea lol
That's weird, I did not touch my mouse but I got subscribed to this channel two times while watching.
It would help if this video showed us the whole net.
How do you finish it though? Like we're trying to make a massive net for stuffed animals but how do you attach it at the ends? Or even the sides? To make a rectangle

@@liemtuduyvery mysterious eh?
That's a great question, I wish they'd answer it. I'm also looking to make a large stuffed animal net.
I wonder if will work for my tailgate
royal knot or quadrant knot is much better for netting - it's flat and looks nicer.
My grandpa use to make 100 ft beach sienes and rent them out. That was before they were outlawed.
Thank You So Much!
To get into a groove of making the knots I just run a bunch of loose knots five six rows down and then go back and tighten it up
Good morning 👍

Just try out a piece. Make two rows of knots, mark with something and measure.
Thank You !
बहुत आसान था थैंक यू
but how to weave it from 1 continuous strand no cuts? and selecting mesh size to be fairly accurate? like 1/4 inch holes?

This is helpful thank you
Will this work for a kids climbing net?
Well done, thank you.
Good video but please get rid of the obnoxious bell noise.
THANK YOU! I just wrote a comment about that a few seconds ago and as usual, i thought i was alone with shattered inner peace!
Well done . I'm gonna try this
Thank You So Much!
There is a better and an easier way than this. I'd probably do this as a craft to impress my friends!
Thank You So Much 😊
How long is each string of rope?
Very simple , specially when you need a soccer net about 8’ by 24’ . ✋
Gonna make o Hammock.
Quality ! Nice Lesson
WOW,,,,,I CAN SEE FISHERMEN FROM 1000 YRS AGO DOING IT THE SAME WAY. COOL EH!!!!
this was great tyvm!
Fantastic. Thank you.
Must it always be an idd number? Eg you have 5 on video
Great video, thanks...
The bell sound bro is so annoying
No hear bell
I was wondering how many times you were going to pull on that first knot at the beginning of the video.
Look like carrick’s bends?
Excellent
how long rope is needed?
Thank you....
You are welcome.
Oh the subscribe bell was painful
Can I use that technique to make a simple hammock
Hey how much rope do you think you use for 1m by 1m?

Creative video, thanks :)
That's a trap!!!! You do not end the process! How do you finish the side behind?
It's almost like you were trying to confuse us with some of those hand movements

Great video. Easy to understand. Which rope did you used? Paracord? If yes which typ?
yes, parachute rope or small Climbing rope. Thank you for your interest !

How to make a net in triangle frame
WHAT KIND OF MATERIAL IS IT?
550 cord....or paracord.
30 bucks on amazon...i used it in the army...550 lbs is what it can pull or hold.
We say five fifty to sound cool.
Would be great if you would show how to do it with one rope. Would be harder but so much more useful.
Thank You So Much!
Just imagine him doing it.
A block of wood will help make all the spaces equal.
I like the video, but PLEASE turn the volume down on the noise you use for the Bell icon.
Yes, same. It's early morning here. The guitar music was very nice, but the bell noise startled us. Fortunately our dog, "miss barknado" (not her actual name) slept right through it.
Title should be…Making a net is knot that hard
Awesome teacher!
Thank You So Much ❤
I see, it's like for making a bretzel's knot, except do it more tighter. 🙄🤔❤
Do you have a separate video that shows how to install this in a car roof area? Thanks.
Great video 👍
Bouta make a chicken coop for my baby chickling and ducks and im going to use steel instead
Thank You So Much.
NOt sure if i is another name for it but Thta knot is also know as the Carrick bend.
QUANTOS METROS QUE COMPRA CORDA PARA FAZER UMA REDE PARA GOL DE FUTEBOL ? O SENHOR PODERIA ME FALAR ! E OBRIGADO
How does your cord keep getting longer? It would never work with the short cord you stated with because you don't show any splices. Please explain.
What did you catch??
can i ask something? if im making 1m net? I see you put 4 ropes ,, if im making 1 meter net,, how long is the rope should be?
If this was on Sesame Street we'd all be Eagle Scouts.
