This is the perfect net making video. I really don't care about nets, or their manufacture but the editing, timing, music were so engaging, I stayed for the whole damn thing.That's not even mentioning all the wholesome comments. Great work on your content and the community you built. Congrats.

I've watched this video so many times learning how to tie nets this video has been a huge help in my learning experience thank you for sharing your knowledge
One of my favorite phrases is good, good. I love these types of fairly simple and very pedagogical presentations, because just as we find amounts of information that are not edifying for a healthy life and growth, we can also find these ideas that can be used for many circumstances. In particular, I was looking for information about it to cover the things that I need to carry in my bicycle basket. So I salute these good deeds, thank you, thank you 1000 for taking time, the kind that generally almost never is left over, but with patience and vocation there will always be a Christian who has his knowledge to make it known without pettiness to the world, especially to those of us who lack the skills and knowledge for this type of craftsmanship. God bless you greatly. From the plains of southern Venezuela, on a bank of the Apure River, from the town of San Fernando, a fraternal hug. Blessings. Note: I appreciate my apologies for my bad English...
Ordered 200’ of paracord to make sure I had enough. About to attempt a net for the top of a handmade bunk bed so I feel safer with my 8yr old up top as I she just turned 8 and I am allowing it (she is petite and wiggles a lot so she needs to be away from little brother now). Looked at a few videos and none were what I was wanting but this is close so I am going to try it. Ty!
I'm glad i have so many intelligent people to help to make things like this. Really appreciate this video, thank you for making it. Would love to make a hamper out of paracord!
i used this as a tutorial for a stuffed animal net to hang over my bed. i used leftover stretchy yarn instead of cord. works great! the only part i got stuck on was the knots in the middle, but i managed to find an alternative that worked fine for what i was using it for
Waking up in the middle of the night to being tangled in net with stuffed animals all over me sounds like something out of a horror movie. Hope you got a good hook lmao.
This person is obviously an amateur and a renegade! He did not block the view of where to insert the working end into which loop or bite. He went way too slow to miss anything. That is not normal my friend. Too many YT people perform knot tying as if it were up-close magic! I am gonna give a try thanks to you!
I'm not convinced on the final finish, I think there's probably a better way to do that, but the rest, compared to the other methods, is A1. I'll definitely be -stealing- using this! 👍👍
Thx for the tutorial. I love the knots. They dress up nice and provide a very attractive net. I was wondering if you have a video to help me with estimating the length of the paracord vertical runs. For example if i want the net to be 7’6” tall how long are the runs. Many variables, more knots more rope etc… Is there a “rule of thumb?”
when making a big one what's the best way to go about it to make sure it looks good I might make myself one to hit golf balls into, looks kinda relaxing already have the cord anyways
Thanks for this tutorial - it's an interesting knot and now I'm practising it with a very light string - I figure that if I can master that then by the time I get to para-cord it'll be a breeze, I have tried other knots before but they often end up quite chunky but this one looks pretty neat.
A truly useful video,.... many many thanks,.... btw, could you help the ratio of original rope length vs the final result length (to prepare the expected with or length)?
This is a great method and tutorial. I just wish there was a better method of finishing the webbing. I’m looking to make a swing chair and most likely going to be working myself inward towards a ring. Would it be possible to finish with a series of lanyard knots?
Thanks a lot! Very well explained. Just a question how the process change if i want to make for any square a side parallel with the First piece of string? Thanks again
So using your figures, each strand should be 4.8x as long as you want the net to be "deep", right? So like if you want the net to be 100 cm deep, you make each strand 4.8 metres? Then each strand effectively makes two strands of 2.4 metres each, and by the time each of those has gone left and right all those times, and made all the knots, it comes out at 1m worth of net? I want to make a net that's 2.5m deep. I have 100m of cord and I want to work out how long I can make it, ie how many strands I can make.
@@JonathanJanis Not very scientifically, but i think it's a good ballpark figure. I used that calculation to work out how much cord i needed to buy, but then when it came to it I thought "I'd better overestimate just in case" and made each hanging strand much longer than i thought it needed to be. Then at the end I had loads left on each strand but I never thought to measure how much was left and see how it compared to my calculations. I do remember that (with my cord) each knot used 6cm of cord, so you can work it out as a series of right angled zigzags, where every 'corner' uses an extra 6cm.
You can decide on the dimensions of your net and the lengths of the sides of each square. You then need to figure out how much cord goes in to each knot. The way knitters do thus us by knitting a gauge swatch. Knit a number of stitches across and a number of rows down, measure the size of your swatch to get stitches per inch in each direction. If you want to know how much yarn was used you can unravel and measure. It's too much work to unravel netting. You could tie a single knot, use a marker to mark where each strand leaves the knot, untie the knot, and measure between marks to see how much cord goes in to a knot on each strand. I think his knit us symmetric, so those measurements should be the same, to within marking and measurement accuracy.
How do you make a bigger net than that? I tried the same formula you did with 30 inch and 60 inch strands of rope and it doesn't work like you portray it too.
Le podrias agregar un gancho para sujetarse de algun anclaje o de la canastilla del carro por ejemplo o dejarlos largo y amarrarlo donde lo necesites. Eso se me ocurre, igual si le falto mencionarlo o mostrarlo
You have two different ways of forming the knot and the best way you don't show slowly. The best way is when you pull a loop through rather than threading the line through.

s= spacing of first knots
d= cord diameter
l= initial length
