I loved how the bus stopped so you could get a good look at the bear! That was a lovely touch on the way to ride Anakeesta's Hellbender Mountain Coaster.
@@JK-js2tdBlack bears typically don't bother humans unless they are provoked or feel threatened. I've been within 50 feet of a black bear, as were at least a dozen other people, and he was just chillin' in a tree. He didn't care about our presence at all. I imagine it would be very different with a grizzly or polar bear, but black bears are pretty relaxed with humans. 🙂
I was part of the building crew that built this coaster and the bird venture which they are still doing maintenance on they are planning on removing the slides already because someone got hurt on them and it's too dangerous for kids it was a fun experience building on the park

Now that looks like FUN! I like that the “Anakeesta Hellbender Mountain Coaster” goes downhill all the way down without short down then back up like the other coasters and two rides for $16.99 is a pretty good deal! Thanks for the great content!
Anakeesta is such a beautiful addition to Gatlinburg. Our last visit was just a few weeks ago and it was a glorious, sunny day. I love seeing the bears mingling around through all the excitement. We missed that. Thank you for taking us along on your visit.
This ride would be really awesome and somewhat spooky at night. The views on this ride are absolutely incredible. The beautiful woods that you ride throughout the coaster is amazing. This is more of a scenic ride than a 🎢🎢rollercoaster🎢🎢, but that's not taking anything away from this ride. The views are worth it 1000%!

This week is our 45th anniversary, we stayed in Gatlinburg and it was beautiful!! There was very little going on in Pigeon Forge though.. my how times have changed.
Last time I was there which was not long ago. Me and my daughter was taking the lofty up and bear walked right under us about ten feet from our feet ..pretty cool to able to see one that close and not have to worry about getting mauled.
Ryan has come a long way from being afraid of coasters to going full speed down the Anakeesta Hellbender Mountain Coaster! Proud of you man and I hope I get to ride soon! ❤
I still have struggles feeling trapped, I tried riding the gondola on the way up to Anakeesta last time and realized I do better with the open vehicle. God is good, I am thankful for getting better!
@@AdventureIsOutThere I totally understand that feeling. Cleithrophobia is the scientific name for the fear of being trapped and it used to be quite the hurdle for me riding coasters etc too. Keep up the great videos 👍

We went to the Smokies in 2021 and visited Anakeesta. We took the chair lift up and on the way back down we took the truck. Good thing we did because the chair stopped working. It was down for a long time, people were stuck on it.
If you watch any of our Anakeesta videos you would notice we always take the rambler (truck). People love the chairlift, but we like to be able to simply walk of the truck if it ever broke down for a period of time!
It's the first one we have noticed that does that. I think the difference is a lot of the other places you can park right next to the ride entrance so it's easier to leave things in your car unlike here.
We began visiting Gatlinburg in 1989 and continued going regularly for the next 25 years. Our last visit was in 2021 and prices for everything are past ridiculous now. What was a affordable vacation for working class people has become no different cost wise, than a trip to Disney World.
Next time I'm in Tennessee I may check this out. When I went through Tennessee with my son a few years ago we rode the mountain coaster in Pidgeon Forge and it was a very interesting experience. ;)
We will definitely have to try the Anakeesta Hellbender Mountain Coaster the next time we are in town. We tried The Lost Mine last week and it was alot of fun!
Thanks for showing awesome places like this. I'm from Western Australia and on my last holiday to America I wasted SO MUCH money at places like Disney World. I'd MUCH RATHER spend my time and money at lovely smaller places like this.

Remember!!!! DO NOT ENGAGE THE BEARS! Do not feed them!!!! Bears have been euthanized because of people approaching and feeding them! I lived in Pigeon Forge for five years and was amazed at how many people tried to get close and were even feeding them! They are completely wild even though they will approach you. Also, LOCK YOUR VEHICLE DOORS! These bears are VERY smart and will open car doors looking for food.
The mother and daughter on that coaster together was the greatest moment. I subscribed because of their cool relationship. Fun...

Oh, we actually did go to anakeesta and also astra lumina. It was amazing. The first one was the best as it looked like a UFO!
We rode this 4 years ago and it too short.Also didn't like that the ride started the way it did.

We went to the Smokies in 2021 and visited Anakeesta. We took the chair lift up and on the way back down we took the truck. Good thing we did because the chair stopped working. It was down for a long time, people were stuck on it.
If you watch any of our Anakeesta videos you would notice we always take the rambler (truck). People love the chairlift, but we like to be able to simply walk of the truck if it ever broke down for a period of time!
Can't wait to ride the anakeesta hellbender mountain coaster on our trip this winter!

I love the free lockers @ ANAKEESTA HELLBENDER MOUNTAIN COASTER I wish all Mtn Coasters did that
It's the first one we have noticed that does that. I think the difference is a lot of the other places you can park right next to the ride entrance so it's easier to leave things in your car unlike here.
with the bears running around going up is the scariest part of the ride

We began visiting Gatlinburg in 1989 and continued going regularly for the next 25 years. Our last visit was in 2021 and prices for everything are past ridiculous now. What was a affordable vacation for working class people has become no different cost wise, than a trip to Disney World.
1. Inflation
2. We are WDW passholders & go often. A trip here can be much cheaper than WDW.

Next time I'm in Tennessee I may check this out. When I went through Tennessee with my son a few years ago we rode the mountain coaster in Pidgeon Forge and it was a very interesting experience. ;)

Thanks for showing awesome places like this. I'm from Western Australia and on my last holiday to America I wasted SO MUCH money at places like Disney World. I'd MUCH RATHER spend my time and money at lovely smaller places like this.
Our pleasure! We would love to visit Australia some day, I would definitely quote crcodile dundee many times if we did and try to find 42 Wallaby Way, Sydney!

Remember!!!! DO NOT ENGAGE THE BEARS! Do not feed them!!!! Bears have been euthanized because of people approaching and feeding them! I lived in Pigeon Forge for five years and was amazed at how many people tried to get close and were even feeding them! They are completely wild even though they will approach you. Also, LOCK YOUR VEHICLE DOORS! These bears are VERY smart and will open car doors looking for food.
