Interesting to read the negative comments from supposed fellow musicians. Any professional musician I’ve come across has the humility and manners to reserve judgement unless asked for it. The same should be true of anyone regardless of ability. The old adage of ‘if you’ve got nothing nice to say, then don’t say anything at all’ seems very appropriate and should be exercised more often. I enjoyed the video because it was two friends/musicians clearly enjoying making music together.
Well said. I always appreciate another persons outrage at negative views and worse. Sadly, many see social media as an opportunity to purge their hate on others. It is important to remember how revealing that behaviour is. It serves to show everybody that your insecure, immature and self loathing. The best thing to do is ignore these types, their only looking for a reaction and denying them of that is very powerful. There is a great saying that is very apt. 'Pearls before Swine'
How mature the comment is (along with the one of Ford Driver) with an insight into human personality and nature. A lot can be learnt from it - not only musicians can benefit from reflecting on it, but also friends, boyfriends, parents, teachers, managers, politicians, ... you name it. Thank you!
Well I thought we have the right to comment a publicly posted video on UA-cam, no? So now everybody is supposed to only bring instant gratification? People work HARD for their stuff, so if you want to be at the top, you have to work even harder. The groove isn't about precision necessarily though, it's about bringing a certain weight behind each note. That's what separates players from the rest. It might sound brutal, indeed, but it is what it is.
Such good playing. Professional level. The tone is impressive too - I would swear it came from a P-bass (except for the slap part) but a J bass obviously is not a one trick pony.
I just can't help thinking what would have happened to MJ's songs if he hadn't had the help of Louis Johnson on the bass. R.I.P to the big bass master.
Good point. Maybe Freddie Washington might have stepped in! But where do you stop... No Jeff Porcaro, No Toto, No Jerry Hey, No Quincy Jones... No Rod Temperton... All contributed enormously to the making and longevity of those 3 Classic Albums.
Michael Jackson wrote the baseline of most of his songs, you can check his demos, the bassists and the producers just reproduce it that's why he take production credit.. correct me if I'm wrong
Fantastic! Bass and drums together was a great idea, it was great to see you play with just you and a drummer live so we can really see, hear, feel how the grooves work. Watching it for the 5th time...
You guys nailed it and that's why I love Michael's song and all the why back to Motown with the Funk Brothers it's those bass lines and the drum beats that amazing.
thank u for not missing the most important part of billie Jean; grabbing that octave with your thumb! great to have a talented drummer to play with as well!!
Every time I hear it, I am reminded of what an absolute banger Smooth Criminal is. Good on you two for putting these grooves together. I wonder how long y'all have been playing together. A good rhythm section partner is worth their weigh in gold.
@@DrumsformersReally good i love it bravo❤️❤️ !! I would like to know what type of drums you are using, I can't find the information, i'm a complete beginner. I'm lost between jazz drums, rock drums, metal drums, fusion drums....., I want to play MJ too. Thank you in advance for your help !!!! ❤️
I never realized how much songs from Michael Jackson rely on bass grooves. Great video!
They do! I never noticed that either until now.
bro most Michael Jackson songs are almost like reggae, the bass is first, drum is second.

You have the smoothness and coolness of a true bass player. No silly gesturing, just head banging. Just feelin’ the groove.
Solid performance from the drummer Patrick. He knows his stuff for sure
Thank you, Nice words ;-)
You both are real Rock stars. The syncronicity of Bass & drums are superb and co ordination of high hat, snare drum & bass drums are amazing.

Agree completely, but I have to say, from what I can see, the vast majority of the comments have been positive.
@@davebartholome2924 I agree and it’s good to see the majority of comments are positive. It’s a shame that some can only see the negative in life.

Great pocket guys. Clean and funky dance riffs... MJ forever!
As a Bass player there is a TON I can learn from this hard working gifted lady. Her playing is extremely tight! I love all Julia`s videos.
Boy oh boy, where do I begin? Video quality is great, drums and bass sound just perfect, you guys are extremely talented. Wow.
Gorgeous sound on your bass Julia, fabulous, you really nailed the riffs, beautifully done. Excellent drums as well of course!
Billie Jean with the octave note! Finally someone who plays it correctly!
Patrick's drumming is so precise. It's unreal!
Really loving 🥰 the groove of the bass and drums!
EXCELLENT!!! My all-time favorite is Heartbreak Hotel(This Hotel)! What an amazing bass groove!!!
Man, this set would make a great night out on the town.

Excellent job, amazingly recognizable with just drum and bass, I enjoyed it until the last second !!
Nice bass and nice playing Julia. 👍 Sandberg?
Good drums skills Patrick 👍
Smooth grooves of Meikel Checksenzauce 👌
Yes, Sandberg! :)
Both players groovin' well together. I'd rather hear MJ tracks on a Precision bass. But that´s personal preference.
Absolutely fantastic!!!! You two could play in my band any time.......and I don't even have a band.
Very cool!! Love that it’s a continuous mix!!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks Julia and Patrick. Absolutely stunning
