Great video Danny! Thanks much for making this comparison, cancelled my S20 Ultra pre-order and still thinking of getting the S20+ or wait for the Note 20. Cheers from PH! 🍻🍻🍻☺
When comparing the main sensors at 3:00 did you use the full 108mp photo or the down-scaled 12mp version (default setting)? Great video by the way, keep up the good work!
Exynos always had the speed but for me it drained more in idle which isn't a big issue as I'm always near a charger, that 5000Mah on my Ultra will power through though so I'm happy.
Making large professional looking prints is my main concern. The ultra uses something called nona-binning. Which of the 2 phones will produce the best professional looking prints?
AT&T has promo to get the regular S20 for $10/mo for 30 months so that means $300 for anyone starting a new line or adding someone new. Couldn't past that deal up, $1000 phone for $300 lol

On the strength of this video I canceled my Ultra order and ordered a S20+ I have come over from I phone for the 5G option , correct me I I am wrong but I hear there is an auto focus issue with the ultra thats hardware related , so could it ever be fixed
The focusing can be optimized for sure but the only main sensor with Dual Pixel AF is the 20 and 20 Plus. I don’t think AF should be a sole reason to cancel an order.
@@dannywinget I just wanted more haha. I wanted to know more about the telephoto lens specifically because apparently the angle of view is very similar to that of the Wide angle and they're just using megapixels and cropping in. I'm definitely getting the Ultra. Shallower depth of field, more dynamic range, better low light, and all the things that matter to a professional filmmaker
@@padidazg.1166 That's true. I'm going to be using this for filming tho, and I don't usually use autofocus while filming. I either keep the focus locked, or use manual focus. And with the huge screen on this phone it should be pretty easy to control the manual focus, so I can't wait to get it
@@padidazg.1166 ya, hopefully they can improve the autofocus quite a bit with a software update tho, because good autofocus is very useful when taking photos and everything
I thought they were still good considering it's an old device when I picked one up, thought it was going to be a vga experience ;p Would be fun to see what those tiny sensors could do with modern software
I will be picking up the lower end S20 today. For me, S20 is the perfect balance of comfortable handling with decent viewing experience. I was little worried about the lack of TOF sensor for live focus, but in my tests at multiple stores side by side it did not make any noticeable difference between S20 and S20+.
also nobody is talking about this but i went to best buy and tried out both 8k video on the S20 and S20 Ultra and the Ultra crops in so dang much when you switch to 8k. The S20and + dont.
I pre-ordered the Ultra but after seeing a few review videos online I am thinking of cancelling and switching to the S20+. I know a patch for it is coming out but to spend all that money for a slightly better experience does not seem to be worth it in my opinion. Space zoom is a gimmick as well as 8K... by the time 8k tv's become commonplace Samsung would have come out with the S50 Super-mega-Ultra. I feel ripped off already by the Ultra and I havent even gotten it yet
Being that many, in Android community, consider the Pixel 4 to be the camera king, it would be good to see a shootout between that and the Ultra AFTER the ultra gets its camera update, all lens, all scenarios and video (and time it takes to actually capture for a night mode shot on both)...just a suggestion.
What are you guys thought? I HAVE to take quality photos every day for my job. So which Cam you guys think is better or is it almost the same for both to you?
I have just read the telephoto lens has near no optical magnification. Very disappointing moving from the s9 plus which has 2x. Can you compare the new digital zoom on s20 plus to the previous generation s10 plus with optical zoom? How on they compare in different lighting conditions? I'm concerned that this new digital zoom is a backward step for the standard s20s

I had to get back and look for myself that's right. how is it possible?
It's possible by changing the lighting. You can still se the standing body of the deer, but your brain doesn't process it, because the colors have a higher priority.
Why at the 6:20 mark was the deer on the right in two separate poses for each phone? Interesting ...
Great video Danny! Thanks much for making this comparison, cancelled my S20 Ultra pre-order and still thinking of getting the S20+ or wait for the Note 20. Cheers from PH! 🍻🍻🍻☺
This video help many people..Thanks man! 👌
S20 ultra needs that update now before I get mine on Friday. 😂😂 Where was this when I needed that difference!
Did you ever get that update?
Nice video danny. great comparisons. getting my s20+ in a day or two.
My Ultra arrives Wednesday... push out that update Samsung!
When comparing the main sensors at 3:00 did you use the full 108mp photo or the down-scaled 12mp version (default setting)? Great video by the way, keep up the good work!
I am glad I went with s20 plus....also it seems exonys is doing quite well in terms of speed as well as battery life
Exynos always had the speed but for me it drained more in idle which isn't a big issue as I'm always near a charger, that 5000Mah on my Ultra will power through though so I'm happy.
How are u certain that exy will have good battery life
Thank you sir! Needed this comparison
2:04 the hell is going on in the background with the ultra
itchynoob YEEEES, the baby are scary
Making large professional looking prints is my main concern. The ultra uses something called nona-binning. Which of the 2 phones will produce the best professional looking prints?
I want the ultra update to fix this or I'm cancel my order
They will fix it soon.
Hello, thanks for the video. Have those models Snapdragon or Exynos chipset?
After watching this I'm convinced the regular S20 is the best option of the three.
AT&T has promo to get the regular S20 for $10/mo for 30 months so that means $300 for anyone starting a new line or adding someone new. Couldn't past that deal up, $1000 phone for $300 lol
great job with the comparisons! thanks!
S20plus vs note 10 plus !!
Most likely Note 10 is going to lose due to a smaller sensor, at least at a night time.
@@pixellord1 Note 10+ has no chance. I've compared it with the 64MP sensor of Realme X2 and Realme X2 is on a whole new level. Better blacks, more light, sharper pictures, better colors and exposure.
@@luisalmeida2866 Yeah, i got my self s20+ (Snapdragon) with its main 12mp shooter it does fantastic photos, even better than Ultra in low light. And yeah, 64mp mode is amazing too, so much detail.
7:49 the smaller sony sensor on s20plus beats the bigger samsung sensor under low light?
S20PLUS AGAINST IPHONE 11 PRO ! PLEASE
Can u plz do a retest after all the updates. We'll be glad to see the outcome
Thank you for this video, im glad i pre-ordered the s20+ now 😂
For the Ultra photos were they taken using the 108mp setting or the 12mp pixel binning setting?
Im hoping a lot of that AF and softer image gets fixed in that update
Honestly or might have to return my order for the ultra for the s20 plus
@@TamimTech22 Exactly what I was thinking haha 😅
@@DaNxFaM it's a disappointing because I really want that bigger battery too!😭 Samsung shouldn't fix what isn't broken the original autofocus didn't need to change on the ultra and the dual aperture should've stayed
I think the af is gonna always be slower because it doesnt have the dual pixel auto focus in the 108mp sensor but software might improve it a little bit
Af will not be solved. Ultra has not dual pixel but phase detection, it is slowbby nature
Thank youuuu!!! Finally!! This confirms my purchase for the S20+ was the right move for the price. Thank you again! No other UA-camrs are doing videos for the S20+
On the strength of this video I canceled my Ultra order and ordered a S20+ I have come over from I phone for the 5G option , correct me I I am wrong but I hear there is an auto focus issue with the ultra thats hardware related , so could it ever be fixed
No, the ultra has only software problems for auto focus which will be fixed in a soon patch
The focusing can be optimized for sure but the only main sensor with Dual Pixel AF is the 20 and 20 Plus. I don’t think AF should be a sole reason to cancel an order.
Thank's !! Cool video !!
Please Comparison Test Galaxy s10+ vs Galaxy s20+
Think you should have waited until that update was on both phones not just the + ... But hey, views, I get it.
There is no guarantee at all it will come to the ultra.
@@dannywinget wait there's no update coming to the s20 ultra for the camera?
@@dannywinget Samsung specifically said it was...again, not hating on ya or anything, just saying, would be a much more fair comparison.
@@dannywinget i thought there was a vid of a camera update on the ultra in korea...
Just the review I was looking for. Would've loved a bit more examples but I was satisfied. Subscribed
What? Haha what other camera comparisons on UA-cam have more images in their videos?
@@dannywinget I just wanted more haha. I wanted to know more about the telephoto lens specifically because apparently the angle of view is very similar to that of the Wide angle and they're just using megapixels and cropping in. How decent are the photos in 10x? And how are the zoom lenses in Low light?
Definitely S20 plus tops
Thank you, Danny, for help in deciding! I am going with S20+
I'm waiting for the Note 20 to drop 😁
Is this a camera comparison or a software comparison? Its difficult to compare cameras when not using manual mode.
The Sony sensor speaks! I guess
But... Which sensor is from Sony? Aren't those all Samsung sensors?
simioni Nope. Main Sensor of Ultra is made by Samsung. Zoom sensors are made by Samsung, rest ist made by sony
@@simioni All except Rear Mains
@@ThePianist51 Ultra zoom lens is sony imx586 48MP as far as wikipedia is concerned
The Last Huntethx for corrections :-)
Respected sir is it going to be a difference between s20 and s20+ as standard s20 lacks a time of flight sensor?
I'm definitely getting the Ultra. Shallower depth of field, more dynamic range, better low light, and all the things that matter to a professional filmmaker
It doesn't have Dual Pixel Auto Focus that means lots of issues with focusing. Phase Detection AF is just very slow in comparison.
@@padidazg.1166 That's true. I'm going to be using this for filming tho, and I don't usually use autofocus while filming. I either keep the focus locked, or use manual focus. And with the huge screen on this phone it should be pretty easy to control the manual focus, so I can't wait to get it
@@JackOLanternBob Great! Go for it then!
@@padidazg.1166 ya, hopefully they can improve the autofocus quite a bit with a software update tho, because good autofocus is very useful when taking photos and everything
Why did you compare the 8k videos?
Jeez I remember how wowed I was by my iPhone 4 photos...
I thought they were still good considering it's an old device when I picked one up, thought it was going to be a vga experience ;p Would be fun to see what those tiny sensors could do with modern software
Awesome camera comparison review i had ever watched since release. Great job man 👍👍👍
4:23 100x zoom oil painting LoL
I will be picking up the lower end S20 today. For me, S20 is the perfect balance of comfortable handling with decent viewing experience. I was little worried about the lack of TOF sensor for live focus, but in my tests at multiple stores side by side it did not make any noticeable difference between S20 and S20+.
That white s20+ looks so good😭😭😭🤍
@Lïl Stønër i know right.
Would plz tell me what case are u using ?? Thank u
Cmon bro at least take your airpods out before reviewing an android....
Does the ToF sensor make much of a difference for bokeh effects between the S20 and S20+?
Bora Chreng I’m wondering the same
No it doesn't, there was essentially no difference between the note 10 and note 10+ according to a lot of sources, it's only worth it if you want AR
Ultra isn’t worth it unless you really want that creeper 100x zoom 🤣🤣
It'll show its worth in when it gets its software update i reckon
Yep thats it. Cause if you want High MP shots the S20and + will do 64MP shots which is plenty!
also nobody is talking about this but i went to best buy and tried out both 8k video on the S20 and S20 Ultra and the Ultra crops in so dang much when you switch to 8k. The S20and + dont.
@@ereh6707 absolutely!
What a stupid comment. Better lowlight. More detail ect.
Does the updates to the s20+ also apply to the regular s20?
I pre-ordered the Ultra but after seeing a few review videos online I am thinking of cancelling and switching to the S20+. I know a patch for it is coming out but to spend all that money for a slightly better experience does not seem to be worth it in my opinion. Space zoom is a gimmick as well as 8K... by the time 8k tv's become commonplace Samsung would have come out with the S50 Super-mega-Ultra. I feel ripped off already by the Ultra and I havent even gotten it yet
When Will you compare S20 Ultra With S10+ And Note 10+. I am Eagerly Waiting for that Comparison
Thanks Danny a genuinely helpful reveiw..good work
Being that many, in Android community, consider the Pixel 4 to be the camera king, it would be good to see a shootout between that and the Ultra AFTER the ultra gets its camera update, all lens, all scenarios and video (and time it takes to actually capture for a night mode shot on both)...just a suggestion.
and could you also compare full size 108mp photos and 64mp photos of both cameras ? is it possible to use them at full resolution for stills ?
Excellent to see. My shipment from Tmobile shows I should be getting my S20 regular tomorrow(Tuesday). Definitely looking forward to it!
What are you guys thought? I HAVE to take quality photos every day for my job. So which Cam you guys think is better or is it almost the same for both to you?
Thank you sooo much for doing this comparison 😁
Oh my god no matter what phone is used, you're very beautiful.
@@juombe Thank you 😊
Wow! Thanks! Guess ill have the plus then. Been waiting for this review!
