🔥This video has SUBTITLES that you can TRANSLATE into any language🔥 P.S. ⚓I left one more eye-popping detail for you. What exactly was not on any ship in history, but it is on this model?⚓
Olha...all I can say is you are an amazing woman... Your a genius at building these ships... Your just amazing... Your attention to detail is unsurpassed... I had talked with you a while back and I was going to do a French ship ⚓ which I have now forgotten the name... It would of been my first wood ship...in that 40 plus years ago I used to build the large plastic kits from the 60's and 70's... But I'm dealing with PTSD and now cancer so I didn't want to get into something I may not be able to finish... I do build the 1/8 scale cars in the build ups on line because I used to restore cars ...so I have the knowledge...but it's the time to do everything I still want too... I always wanted to have a large ship in a case in my house for years... Maybe someday... But for now I'll watch you do your "amazing work" on this and the others you have built... I don't have much up on my U-tube channel but if you'd like to go see what I've done on one of my car's at "Robin Around Town" be my guest... Again..."AMAZING"...😊
Quite the challenge, with all the sails glued to the spars, shortcuts in rigging and the use of "Off the shelf" threads in its construction. However, if anyone could do a museum quality restoration on this ship, it would be you. Looking forward to following the progress.
I am sure that you will succeed in meeting the challenge, you are the perfect person to do this. I'm so happy for you... this commission is recognition!
Wow... I can already see this is going to be an amazing transformation. It looks like it has some solid ground work, and some beautiful potential. Can't wait to follow along with this one.
@@OlhaBatchvarov Your talents are just amazing to anyone who builds small-scale models possibly the best ever, certainly, the best I have ever seen, keep up the good work, and thank you for the best UA-cam views on the tube.

Dear Mrs. Olha, thank you for this fantastic tutorial, which is "gold" to me as a beginner of building real models of beautiful tall ships. I totally enjoy your and your husbands videos, because building scale models is not just "glueing stuff together". I love to research myself which is a challange of its own but thank you both for your dedication and work you put into your videos together. Your videos encouraged me, while I am working on my HMS Bounty researching the history of it, I came across a Book by Alexander McKee " HMS BOUNTY" which gave me X-amount of Info to be able to put more accurate detail into this model than what the manuals ask for. Anyhow, again, thank you both so much for your time and dedication . May God bless the people in the Ukraine and keep them safe from the evil...

I’m so excited at the perspective of watching your expert hands working on this model over the coming months! I’m a bit torn though because I know the amount of work you’ll put in to bring it up to snuff. If you tear everything down, replace the spars, sails, the rigging, etc. basically you’ll be only keeping the hull, but is the hull worth it, if it’s nothing more than plywood puzzle Aeropiccola / Billings type of cotton gauze reinforced epoxy structure? Unless you plan on rebuilding a proper hull... Anyway, it will be amazing to watch you work on this! здоров'я!
@@OlhaBatchvarov Yes, you’re right, boxwood is a sign of quality, and I watched your husband’s presentation of the ship and he did mention the hull was excellent quality compared to sails and rigging, and just like you, he said he thought the ship may have been built by two builders, perhaps an old experienced builder who started the project making the hull, and perhaps he died and his less experienced son finished the build with the upper portion. I’m sure you will honor them both if you rebuild everything up to historical accuracy and with your magic touch! Love you both!
This will be a great and challenging project, mainly because you'll have to enter the mind of the builders to understand how they built it, in order to disassemble the ruined pats without creating more damages
In my case, I will throw away all the rigging and sails. They are made not only of cheap material, but also incorrectly. Therefore, I will literally destroy all mistakes and rebuild all the spars and rigging... But there will also be some restoration)))

Olha, refreshing dusty old ship models and revarnishing and conserving the wood and the rigging can be quite a challenge. That is what I am actually doing with two models, the Wasa and the San Felipe. Could you please elaborate on these aspects too during your restoration, because I am sure you can provide some valuable techniques for that! Keep up the great videos!!
In my case, the rigging will be thrown away along with the sails and I will make new ones. There will be more modernization than restoration as such...
Saving some models can be harder in many ways than building a new one. Luckily work on the deck is not crowded out by rigging, and you are going to upgrade the rigging with new lines anyhow. So many details to work on, Ohla! A real challenge.
In this case, the sails and rigging are not subject to restoration. They are so covered with glue that sometimes it is difficult to separate them from the masts. And by the way, all the parts of the masts (lower masts, top-masts and topnalant-masts) are glued tightly. Also they are glued to the hull so that the masts are not removable... The person who built it did not even think about the possibility of restoring this model in the future...
@@OlhaBatchvarov Gluing the rigging to the masts and spars? Who does THAT? Totally unnecessary. All you can do now is replace the broken parts and perhaps add missing running rigging lines I guess. Best of luck in all that, Ohla. Lots to do!
Hi Olha, did you built it? Or did you take care of the restoration? In any case it's a great job and very beautiful and accurate ship model. Have a nice day
So much potential in this restoration piece. A very challenging project not just to restore her, but to make sure she lasts a lot longer than she has atm. I hope the keel is not badly damaged inside with regards to the stand this and replacing the rigging is the 2 biggest challenges. Have you bought this to restore or is it a Commission restoration? I was just thinking of the packaging needed to ship her back if its a Commission based restoration, that could be a challenge too. Looking forward to seeing this restoration project in the Dockyard 😉👍🤺⚓
This is a commission restoration. I'll probably make a video about transporting the models. Because this is the second shipwreck I have seen this year. I can still understand why people transport such works of art lying on their sides, who have no idea that they are difficult and long to build. But modelers who spent several years on his models and know exactly how "fragile" they are - are too lazy to build a frame for fixing the model in a vertical position for transportation...
Maybe it's not a case of being "too lazy" to build a case for shipping, quite probably they are unsure of the complexity that is maybe needed to secure the "FULL BUILD OF A SAILING SHIP" so that not just the Hull, but the Masts and yards are not damaged in anyway during shipping, and that they are not sure how to go about building such a secure package 🤔. I know although I've been building models(mainly sailing ships) for years, I would be uncertain how to build such a secure package if the need arose. I think that is why when you see a lot of Full build ships for sale, the seller often tries and sells locally so the buyer can hopefully collect the item rather than having to ship it which also cuts out a lot of money for the buyer regards to not just postage but the packaging as well. Thank you for your informative reply Ohla, and look forward to both the restoration and the Crate/packaging to make the ship secure.
I just got to see Kroum's scholarly take on it. It really does seem to have had two different hands at it. Having noted that broken spar tip as well as the mount being "wobbly", it would seem likely it has been knocked off it's shelf. Could all of this ill fit top hamper be a later replacement? It wouldn't explain why the guns were so incompletely turned out either. I will plan to attend your sessions on this mystery!
