Don't use Rain-X on the dome. It's for glass and will streak and breakdown the poly dome. There is a Rain-X specifically for plastics (such as this dome or motorcycle windscreens) so use that instead
Hey bud, does the inside of the dome ever fog? And if so, it is possible to open it to add a defogger or just clear it? That’s a major concern of mine- otherwise cool product
Great video, thanks. The only thing I’d suggest you add is to specifically use “Rain-X Plastic”. Apparently the alcohol in Rain-X Original will eat away your acrylic dome over time.
Thanks for the video! Any recommendations for cleaning the lens after a day in saltwater? Just rinse it off with fresh water and towel dry? Also, how often do you recommend applying RainX?
Thanks, very informative video. When searching for Rain-x I found two versions, one for glass, and another for plastic. Which one do you use and have you done a comparison? I suppose the one for plastic is best )
@@2ASHKENAZI Thanks, yes that's what I did. For some reason, according to the label, one should not use the version for glass on plastic. Not sure why, if it can damage the glass or perhaps less efficient.
Yes good eye, I used this once at rock springs. I dont know how you would combine this with a light. Maybe bolt the 1/4" thread at the bottom of the handle to a tray, then attach the light to the tray? That could work
Hey Joe - do you know if there is a dome port that can work with an existing GoPro underwater housing? Idea is to take the port Dome during a dive and then on ascent, or initial descent, be able to attach the Dome for some cool pre-post dive videos. Once underwater, I can remove the Dome and use the GoPro for close up videos, etc. Having to remove the GoPro from one underwater housing and put it in the Dome housing seems to be cumbersome for the expected use.
Hi! Thank you for the video✌️Have a question - when and how do you apply the rain-x? Just before you go into the water or before that? I bought the rain-x and applied it at home - then the result was terrible...
Hello, This dome in amazon says its for (Dome Port Lens Compatible with GoPro Hero7 Black/Hero6/Hero5/HERO 18' ). Are you sure it's also compatible with GoPro hero 8 black? Because the lens its much smaller infront. Please answer me because i want to buy it.
Szia Gyula, I for underwater video I prefer 2.7k 60 fps wide with gopro color and hypersmooth ON (no boost though). 2.7k is very nice resloution and allows me to zoom in a bit without losing HD quality. The 60fps looks ok rendered at 30 fps but also allows me to slow the footage down by 50% which is nice, sometimes a fish swims by fast and I like to slow down so I can see it longer. Thanks for watching
I read everywhere that any of these domes are for Blacks models only bc the have a protruding lens..Confirm this plz..If thats the case ill need to sell all my non black gopros and get a black model..no one..no one ever mentions this..why?
No one seems to mind that the underwater image in the dome is a little soft, not so bad on the GoPro, unusable with a Osmo action 4, so its a no good for me, However add a +1 diopter to the camera and it will be better.
Anyone else have issues with their telesin dome not pushing the record button on their hero 8? It reaches the power button just fine, but I cannot get this thing to push record. I end up having to take my gopro out of the housing and start it, and just let it run until Im done with my dive
I had issues with the trigger mechanism not working. So I just removed it and press the button on the housing with my finger. What depth does that happen at?
@@JoeOceanside I tool the trigger off immediately, and put the dome on my dive tray. Depth isnt really the issue, it seems like the button doesnt push down far enough to actually press record

Can you take pics and video at the same time . I mean can you alternate between videos and pics whilst the go pro is still inside ?

I dont know I had some old stuff I used on cars. Seems to be ok, the dome is plastic though.
Get the plastic repellent. The dome is plastic.

Would this still work good taking pictures off surf in the water ?
Thank you for the tip we definitely will get one of those
They do make pretty cool vids if the water is calm enough
Top vid
is it fit for hero 6 black ?
I recognize rock springs at kelly park here! Question for ya! Can there a way to combine a light with this housing?
Yes good eye, I used this once at rock springs. I dont know how you would combine this with a light. Maybe bolt the 1/4" thread at the bottom of the handle to a tray, then attach the light to the tray? That could work

I don't think so. I havent seen one like that.
im looking for one of these for the insta 360 ace pro camera..

Clutch tip on the rainx. Great video, thanks bud!

Hi Joe, what camera are you using while you were recording yourself in the pool? Hope I get a reply from you.
Thank you for this Video.
I was using a Sony a6500 with a 18-105 lens. Hope that helps!
To wipe off the rainx, do you use a microfiber cloth?
If I am using this underwater will scuba diving do I need the dive filters. The red and magenta ones?
I would not use for diving, its very buoyant. Im not sure if the red filter would fit inside the housing
Hello sir, how did you mount the go pro on your mask
Is it safe to use this in jumping to the sea scenario?
could you mount that to a diving/lighting stablizer tray if you don't connect the trigger handle? like the stablizer in your other videos
How do clean the inside?
The anti fog.I dont have to peel that off?
Where exactly goes in the housing?
The camera goes in the back of the housing. There is a protective plastic that comes on the dome you will have to pull off
can you use this with the gopro supercase?
Will the hero 4 fit with the 5 dome mount?
can a red filter also be used inside the dome?
I do not think so with this brand. I saw another brand that had a red filter built in
Can I also use it with the hero 9?
There probably is a new one specifically for the 9

Wide is the way to go!
This will fit GoPro hero3+ ?
This one no, but I think they make another for the 3

How many meters depth this dome can hold the pressure
I do not know. But It's main purpose is to be used on the surface waterline

The f'ing box it came with is hideous... parts falling all over the place and noway to put it back into the box

Wait I’m confused I thought the go pro was water proof 🤔
It is but the big dome gives you the over under view at the same time
Lower the music when you speak - it's distracting :(
