Heck yeah the shoutout to ATS! Awesome truck I'm enjoying driving it around.
That’s why I’m here
I have always driven a freightliner Cascadia but will soon be given a new Western Star 57x and I’m pleased to see the similarities.
Did you get your 57x . Cause originally planning buy Cascadia but give thought to west now . Would appreciate your input.🙏
Can the hood mirrors be temporarily folded down against the hood? To get them out of the line fire when a Swift driver tries to back in next to the truck at a rest stop?
Not hard to see that Western Star is owned by Mercedes-Benz
So sad how western star got rid of its classy look with cherry wood to plastic! I can just imagine the rattling sound of that Murphy bed while driving
Yeah. I liked the interior of the 57 XE much better. Much prefer the gauges to the digital display. And the cherry wood was a classic look. Very classy. I read somewhere that some companies were using the 57 XE as a reward truck for their better drivers. Why would they make the interior now look like a freightliner. This truck really stood out before.
Hi Jim from Australia, a very good video mate.
I AGREE, THE WESTERN STAR 57X IS A GREAT TRUCK ALL AROUND
While you're cycling thru the digital gauges to find the ones you want, you're taking your eyes off the road. All these modal electronic displays will cause just as much distracted driving as cycling thru your smartphone contacts list to find the contact you want to phone. So if you change your mind, you'll need to pull over and cycle to other gauges. The old analog gauges were always all there for you, all the time.
And the standard gauges are still available if you want them
You're old. 😂
The last T-Rex living.
I'm sitting here at the truck stop and there is a beautiful old school long nose Western star here maybe you should go back to that's because that's what's class
Looks exactly like freightliner's version
Actually it is freightliners version different hood and a couple other things built by dalmer
I love the truck its been great to me so far. I'd like to see a video on how you clear the trip information so that it can be reset if its possible. Thank you in advance if your able to do so
I like it
Cascadia rolling plastic truck! Looks like a Prostar now
I would like to know how much room is there behind the seat. Would like to be able to in bolt the seat and move it back for optimal leg room
The side box compartment makes it look generic but its still a nice looking truck
looks like a very nice seat i always driver freightliners internationals peterbilt 579 is my fav truck to drive this one lloooks like it has a nice seat like peterbilt idk about the ride tho
Need the 82-inch sleeper
Can you get different sleeper configuration. Nowhere to put a CPAP machine
That bed looks huge
To put it simply, it's a Freightliner Cascadia plus Mercedes luxury 😊
This is literally the exact same shell of a truck my cascadia evolution had, the 72”, but this has a western star front clip… this is very, very disappointing. I will hand them this though… the bunk is definitely livable..
Sure would be nice to see how to customize your gauges so you can actually see them on the screen...
The instrumental panel looks like a after a thought. Let's just throw a tablet instead building a real cluster. Same as new cascadia also.
My 2022 cascadia looks exactly like this interior but my truck was $167,000 and this one is $200,000. I’m not getting anything better
I like the wood in the 5700xe a lot better then the plastic in the 57x. The 57x looks just like a frightliner with same same options plastic garbage.
I would rather have the Cummins engine . And I'm not sold on those door mirrors . I drive a Mack Anthem and the door mirrors block my view at intersections . I like how Kenworth and Peterbuilt engineered their door mirrors . My other concern about Western Star is box storage space .
*Frieghtliner Cascadia
They could put a kicker or rockford 10 inch sub in there .
Becoming more and more like the Cascadia
They where made by the same company
That's why I say this
Freightliner with Western Star emblem
Freightliner Cascadia with a different hood, basically.
I’d want the analog.
That’s a Freightliner interior 100%
It looks more like a new Mercedes car then as a semi.
Because Western Star is ownd by Daimler.
It’s just a better looking cascadia 🤷🏾♂️ Peterbilt and kenworth are similar in a lot of ways too, but at least have justifiable differences
Where’s the driving video?
How about shutting the door
It's a freightliner
Cascadia with a different hood.
Analog gauge all the way. That finger swiping touch pad on the steering wheel is such a terrible idea
This is a big disappointment for Western Starr to become Freighter Cascadia With some extra options. 👎
Exactly they acting like this is something new
I like it better than any other emissions piece of crap
Freightliner/Western Star…..
The Chevy/GMC of Class 8 trucks….
Not a bad thing
I love it.
Why not call it an cascadia ?
You mean Cascadia with ws hood
Yup.
And a bit more equipement and more classier.
Dam minivans
now make the passenger seat swivel to the back
the old model is far superior to this freightliner model.
Always thought the Western Star trucks were cool.
It's Mercedes Actros
Why do you call this a western star? It's clearly a freightliner.
I was thinking the samething
loll Nothing change look all the same...hey here something. Tell them too drop the price of the 57X Westernstar and maybe it might help loll
That doesn’t look like your Peterbilt driver lol not to worry I parked my K whopper
Cascadia clone?
95% of the data codes are from the Freightliner Cascadia. Looks nice, lots of plastic.
Nice truck but definitely thumbs down on digital dash.
Daimler are masters in giving partners left over tech....
This is a rerun of the Chrysler 300 LX modus..
Give the Yanks a couple of S-class screens and let them keep the rest of the stoneage tech they use to built trucks with...
Look @ the 2023 MB Actros and you see the picture....
Are these available in 18spd?
Be like gm vehicles, freightliner is the chevrolet, while the western star is the buick ,interchangeable parts !
Wow it’s the new Wesaidia 57x what lazy engineering if I ever saw one.
Bruh, it as more equipement (still a scam).
StarCadia is what I call it
Selling the Freightliner Under name of western star it’s a fraud !!!! That seems to have that small leather sleeper it’s even bigger and bigger sleeper want that mean come on people
Yes, is this made in Mexico also???
Western star is owned by Frieghtliner
All it is , it the freighliner cascadia whit a different hood , come on
And there fucking slow to build it
Why don't you just buy a cascade yeah it'll be a little cheaper The interior looks just the same but I prefer the Cascadia I'd rather have the top bunk for a shelf then that weird little tray you have Is shame had high hopes
I despise all trucks with electronics in the steering wheel. I like to put my arms thru wheel sometimes and steer with my elbows. On Volvos you cancel the headlights by accident doing this. Not good.
What a disappointment. The gauge cluster is just a bunch of future problems. Also a chrome chunk of plastic mounted where the air breathers used to be is just cheap looking. The future of trucking for a driver is well past its prime.
The digital dash works in Europe since 6 years now.... Without problems. Everything whats "new" in the US at Freightliner or Western Star is at least 3 or 4 years old. Developed by Daimler Trucks Europe.
Glorified Freightliner, very disappointed in Western Star
It’s actually a nice looking truck
Freightliner is destroying the western star brand
Nobody is building a truck anymore. These plastic and fibreglass mistakes are a poor substitute. And I drive a 5700 Star.
What a joke this ain’t no Wester Star
I miss the old trucks with real gauges matter a fact a whole dash of them. This new age stuff feels like iam driving an oversized pick up . Took the fun out of trucking. They ain't loud no more , they ain't fast no more , they just ain't as cool as it used to be. Bring back the black smoke . What I'd do to watch that needle spin around again !
No cameras on the outside to see the stupid things that people do ...anyone listening..
It's optional
It's a cascadia enough already Western star is dead.
Why do all new trucks look like cheap plastic rubbish
Nothing more than a freightliner with western star name. Big disappointment
Omg!!!! what have they done, its bloody ugly, ugly, ugly "WHAT THE HELL" One question WHY??????
😂😂😂😂
Western stole from Freightliner 😂 Who would've ever thought this...😂
Western Star and Freightliner are both owned by Detroit Diesel, which is owned by Daimler.
Everything at Freightliner and Western Star comes from Europe. The engines, automatics, dashboard.... Everything is Mercedes Actros.
AIRBAG LEAN!!!!
Automatics are for sissies 😒
Automated.
Yup and that's all it's gonna be soon before we know it !
Don’t knock it til you drive it….even though I still love my 18 speed
