The Gael was written by Scottish singer songwriter Dougie MacLean and included in his album called Search in 1990. The Gael was later adapted for the 1992 film the Last of the Mohicans.
This is not so old. Was composed in 1980s by Dougie Maclean a great Scottish musician. This renditiom does feel older than hje original composition ptobably the solo violin.
@@pablokaufervinent8012 yet we were teens when Last of the Mohycans came out, now were adults, remembering those old times. I dont forget when I first saw it, it took my breath away. That last scene alone is so powerful most movies cant cope with.
I feel you. I saw Last of the Mohicans in a cinema as a teenager. I went there hoping for Jurassic Park, but they didn't have it. So they offered me Last of the Mohicans as a 'compromise'. Best second choice ever!
Just want top play this on my 1000 watt PA over the Mohave desert !!!! first in daylight and at dusk as well....I so appreciate this young lass...I am 70 and I just love her to bitz..been listening to her for 7 years now. G

I saw this as part of the last of mohicans, it changed me without me knowing. The music and the scene in the movie touched my soul. I listen to this and it has never failed to touch me. And this young lady is the best rendition even over the Cheiftans.
I do not know the Cheiftans but will look them up. Jenny died. she played the intro to the game of thrones, came from Count Carey Ireland, my father was Raymond O'Connor from count Carey Ireland, somehow I feel related to her, I know how she died, like our mother, Raymond our father, brother, Neil, brother Mark. but life goes on.

I have loved this song since I was a teenager and first saw The Last of the Mohicans. It stirred something in my soul. Lovely song. Well done.
This is not lovely, this is pain, but really nice played.
