Hello AT, the area has a national park which is the home to the roan antelopes. The park is Ruma and Thim Lich Ohinga is under the UN world heritage sites also in the area but in Migori county.

Rusinga Island is fantastic, there are lots of activities for tourists on budget there s rusinga Island resort, Chula Beach, and home stays for those wishing to enjoy village life, rusinga is also home to late Tom mboya his moseleum is also found here intersting place indeed
so nikitaka hoteli ya kulala rusinga whivh one is the best in there and the best tourist attractiin site
I prefer staying in Mfangano to Rusinga. Rusinga is densely populated, lack of water and basic amenities. All the 7 inhabitable Islands in Homa Bay county Mfangano and Takawiri are my best choices. Kiringiti island is unique but expect constant harassment by Uganda police since it lies on the border. If you haven't visited this part of Western Kenya, too bad. It's the best👍

Such an underrated area. Since they removed the causeway the lake has looked cleaner than ever. I hope they plan to tarmac all the roads on the island and as well build proper boat yards and jetties so this area can be fully unlocked.
