The 24 inch line is really clever. Not only were big chrome rims a really popular thing with rappers but he lists 24 ills in the third verse. Go to the lyrics and count them up. So an inch for every ill to make 24 inch chrome rims. The deeper meaning can be that while these rims are expensive and shiny and represent wealth and affluence they are built on the backs of these ills. Nice reaction 👌🏽

I believe this wholeheartedly. Who can write and rap as complex, poignant and masterfully? Kendrick comes close but can’t touch Lupe’s triple entendres. Aesop Rock is very complex but the lyrics can be too abstract to decipher because of it. Yeah Nas and Jay are generally regarded as the best all around but in terms of lyrical mastery Lupe is a 10th degree black belt.
This is therapeutic to watch. Just the appreciation. And ability to be still and take in the lyrics and instrumental and see some experience it for the first time while I experience of the nostalgia from moments of the past
Before watching I have to say thay this song is a masterclass in english lyricism. It doesn't go into the super hard metaphors or hard words most don't understand but it's simple in it's wide complexity. This is my personal favorite rap song of all time as a long hip hop fan. The song just goes together super smoothly and manages to touch so many poignant grievences of the world without becaming outdated and sounding effortless. I no lie listened this song last time in the span of 24 hours.
