They got my homie hemmed up and they all around Can't none of them see him if they goin' straight pound-for-pound They wanna come up real quick before they start to clown I best pull out my strap and lay them bustas down They got guns to my head, I think I'm goin' down I can't believe it's happenin' in my own town If I had wings I would fly, let me contemplate I glanced in the cut and I see my homie Nate 16 in the clip and one in the hole Nate Dogg is about to make some bodies turn cold Now they droppin' and yellin', it's a tad bit late Nate Dogg and Warren G had to regulate I laid all them bustas down, I let my gat explode Now I'm switchin' my mind back into freak mode If you want skirts, sit back and observe I just left a gang of hoes over there on the curb Now, Nate got the freaks and that's a known fact Before I got jacked I was on the same track Back up, back up, 'cause it's on N-A-T-E and me, the Warren to the G Just like I thought, they were in the same spot In need of some desperate help But Nate Dogg and the G child Were in need of somethin' else One of them dames was sexy as hell I said, "Ooh, I like your size!" She said, "My car's broke down and you seem real nice Would you let me ride?" I got a car full of girls and it's goin' real swell The next stop is the Eastside Motel I'm tweaking into a whole new era G-funk, step to this, I dare ya Funk on a whole new level The rhythm is the bass and the bass is the treble Chords, strings, we brings melody, G-funk Where rhythm is life and life is rhythm If you know like I know, you don't wanna step to this It's the G-funk era, funked out with a gangsta twist If you smoke like I smoke, then you're high like every day And if yo' ass is a busta, 213 will regulate

OMG! This brings back memories, I am from Long Beach, California which is where Nate and Snoop Dogg is also from, that's what the LBC means. I am now living in Europe in France and I just discovered your channel, and it's making me miss home, but at the same time giving me comfort since I am so far away. All your videos I relate to because most of the Artist from the Tupac era, I grew up listening to. I really love the way Dad and Son are bonding through music. Thank you...Also, more Jill Scott please. :)
The idea about being a regulator come from a 1988 cowboy movie called "Young Guns". The opening lines are a direct quote from the movie 😅
This channel is going to be HUGE!!! I absolutely love it. I’ve never heard rap and/or some of my favorite songs every explained in this manner. You can tell the duo knows SO much about music in general. They must be true students of the art of music and the terminology they use really describe everything perfectly.
I love every song that you have selected to show your dad and also really love your knowledge on the background/context of each song that even someone like me that’s heard the song a million times lol is getting new context. thanks for sharing the love you have of music especially hip hop with your dad and the YT world 🤍
I’m a Long Beach resident so this was fun to watch 😊 and you were spot on with your explanations.
Shout from Aotearoa( New Zealand),i enjoy hearing you're guys perspective aswell as the way you two connect, very cool in my books,Much love from down Under
213 is the área Code from Long Beach, and it's the name of the group with Snoop, Warren G, and Nate Dogg(R.I.P.)
The "If your ass is a buster" explanation had me. Lol but I dig it. Great channel.
@JayWeezysWorld Definitely had me 😄😄!
I always wondered how Michael McDonald felt about this sample. Probably vibes to it too.
Questions we need answered lol
213 is the Long Beaches area code,
Talib Kweli recently interviewed Warren G on his Uproxx channel: ua-cam.com/video/loVc4_4PwBI/v-deo.html timestamp 42:32. Check out that part of the interview to see how McDonald felt about that sample.
I’m patiently waiting for dad to realize this is that song lol. The video almost over
The best 50% publishing deal decision he's ever made in his life lol
Love Warren G . Seen him and Snoop this past summer. The best concert I have ever been to. Singing Regulate with the crowd was a thrilling experience.
You and your dad seem like such solid guys. Love your dad's openness to everything. To see him bob his head, seems like he can love and appreciate all types of music. Genuinely enjoy watching your videos, keep it up!
I’d love to hear your fathers thoughts on WuTang Clan, Tearz or C.R.E.A.M.
Well, guys... hello from Romania. :) I love both of you, just shared this with my son also. Now, since you get your dad to this road, let him have some of the bangers. DMX, Busta, Eminem (some of the fast lyrics one)... I can see you are taking him very smoothly to this ride. Press the pedal a little, I am sure he would love the hard beats also. Either way keep doing what you do, both of you are super fun to watch! :)
Thanks for the comments. Foot to the pedal? Have to make sure I got my seatbelt nice and tight! (dad)
Appreciate the support! Thank you for watching, Golan
@@frontroom Thanks for the reply. Busta Rhymes ft Eminem - I'll hurt you would totally make me (and you) smile. Is not what you think about when reading the title. :)
Keep up the good work! You guys are going to be big very soon.
OOOOOO Busta Buss!!! You gotta do his Leaders of The New School stuff first then solo stuff to see how he changes
I'm 71 and they are my time living in California from Connecticut favorite all time ❤
We need Shook Ones Pt 2 by Mobb Deep !
Definitely!
100% this is a must listen!!
💯
You’re showing pops some good tunes man keep them coming..let’s see some bone thugs!!
A classic! Warren G is Dr. Dre's little brother. "Regulators" intro from the classic 1988 western movie "Young Guns"
Step brother
@@blacksmith1925 Geez!!! Big deal! Lol They call each other "brother" NOT "step bro", would you agree?
@@lewkor1529 I agree with the fact that Warren Griffin and Andre Young are step brothers. Facts shouldn't offend you.
@@lewkor1529 but there’s a big difference between the two… dna
@@blacksmith1925 Pathetic! Warren G to Suge Knight "If you don't get your hands off of me, I am going to call my brother" I guess he should have said "If you don't get your hands off of me, I am going to call my step-brother" Lol. I will go by what Warren and Dre call each other 24/7. Facts shouldn't offend you...
Your dad is so cool. I lost my dad in 2010. Keep up the great job. Love your videos :-)
I grew up hip hop. But you are educating me. Spread the word young grasshopper, hip hop will not die because of you!!!
I love Dad coming over to the other side....lol. He too also appreciates these lyrical genius of Rap/hip hop art.
Im an oldschool hip-hop head from Denmark / Europe. Started listening to hiphop in 1983 (im 52 YO) and I think I know a pretty good deal about hip-hop. I love your videos so much. Its so wonderful that you can have this thing with your dad (your dad is SO cool). I wish I had the same opportunity back then. Some times I experience that you have some blank spots in your hip-hop story, and I understand that, because your ar young. But most of the time you are very correct, and I really admire your knowledge. Its fantastic. Giv us more :-)
Thank you for the kind words :) since most of the music we have listened to so far came out before I was born, and I didn’t live the stories they tell, it is sometimes hard for me to get the context correct. But I’m glad that viewers fill me in on it when I miss something. Thanks for watching ❤️
@@frontroom I'm very impressed about the knowledge your have though. Keep up the fantastic work showing the beautiful art of hiphop.
*213* is also the Area Code of Longbeach California!
Where Snoop, Warren & Nate Grew Up... Maybe Daz & Kurupt too (i think)
I love the bonding time between you and your father as well as you giving your dad insight on the music and I love his openness to learn about the artist and their work 👌🏾💯💯💯
Thank you very for watching Ron
Literally the opposite of my old man 😆
Another staple in the hip hop/rap culture 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽 keep doing your hard physical research/ and reflection fellas 🙏🏽
Dad is so cute lol. I love these. Y’all just brighten my day! Keep it coming!
213 is one of 3 area codes assigned to California in 1947. 213 area code was specific to Southern California.
213 was also a hip hop group composed of Snoop Dogg, Warren G and Nate Dogg.
I wanna suggest “Murder Was The Case” by Snoop Dogg in 1993 on the Doggystyle album. It has a deep story but a catchy beat i find myself moving to
New subbie over here. This and your video on Tupac's Dear Mama song sealed the deal for me. You guys are just genuinely wholesome and just enjoying the music. Glad UA-cam recommended your channel to me. 💙
Love how y'all break down and analyze the music. If I could make a few suggestions:
Nas- Can't forget about you
Pete Rock & C.L. Smooth- They reminisce over you
Ice Cube- You know how we do it
DMX- Slippin'
Definitely DMX slippin 💯
@@christinewarren8134 They did end up reacting to that song.
You guys are dope! Keep going y’all!
14:03 213 is the Los Angeles area code. Regulate is the dictionary version meaning to control the flow of activity. From the Emilio Estevez movie Young Guns.
To dad you raised a respectful boy, I can tell just by your interaction.
Love this channel and how fast you guys are going through a great path of music lol interesting. One of my fav songs since I’ve been a kid showed to me from my step dad and it’s cool to see you guys experience it
Thank you!! (dad)
I just discovered this youtube channel. Its amazing. Brilliant. Love to see you to this together, father and son. So fun and respect to your dads analyse and engagemant to this. I love it.
Still waiting on Slipping by DMX 😭 super deep song that touches me every time I hear
Yes, Please.
Adding to this comment.. "innocent man" by Dmx
Slipping’ still tears me up 😔
Show your dad “Running (dying to live) Tupac” I’d love to see what he thinks about black culture in this era and the way Tupac perceives his life from his viewpoint. Thanks for making these and bringing people together ✊🏾❤️ Like if you agree!
"Pain" would be nice - any anything from Thug Life. And Above the Law with Black Superman
I share this same connection with my dad for the love of old school hip hop and seeing you and your dad allows me to relate to you guys. Keep up the great work!
Awesome to hear that Anthony!
rip nate dogg, need more people stepping up showing respect this dude belongs in every music hall of fame.
I want your dad to hear “W-4” by “Dead Prez”. It will probably blow his mind!!! But yeah I love your dad’s authentic reaction and his genuine appreciation for good music!!! Because you know good music has no Genre
I think his Dad will love Any song of Dead Prez , a very very good suggestion for him! 💯
Nate was born in Mississippi and you can definitely hear that blues, gospel, soul mashup.
The opening dialogue is from one of my favorite western movies called Young Guns. Charlie sheen, keifer southerland, Lou diamond Phillips, Emilio estevez. As a hip hop head myself I appreciate your knowledge on hip hop. Keep all this up fr.
Sooo right, was searching for this reaction. Thank you!
Dad and son, keep up the good work. Bless the both of you. Greetings from Morocco
You Guys are awesome. I wish i had such a releationship to my dad back then. keep it up. greetings from Germany.
Same feeling here. I'm now excited to have this experience with my kid in 15 years.

For people who wants Lyrics of this song!
Regulators
We regulate any stealin' of his property
We're damn good too
But you can't be any geek off the street
You gotta be handy with the steel, if you know what I mean
Earn your keep
Regulators, mount up!
It was a clear black night, a clear white moon
Warren G was on the streets tryin' to consume
Some skirts for the eve so I can get some funk
Rollin' in my ride, chillin' all alone
Just hit the east side of the LBC
On a mission tryna find Mr. Warren G
Seen a car full of girls, ain't no need to tweak
All you skirts know what's up with 213
So, I hooks a left on 21 and Lewis
Some brothers shootin' dice, so I said "Let's do this!"
I jumped out the ride and said "What's up?"
Some brothers pulled some gats, so I said "I'm stuck!"
Since these girls peepin' me I'ma glide and swerve
These hookers lookin' so hard they straight hit the curb
Onto bigger, better things than some horny tricks
I see my homie and some suckas all in his mix
I'm gettin' jacked, I'm breakin' myself
I can't believe they takin' Warren's wealth
They took my rings, they took my Rolex
I looked at the brothers, said "Damn, what's next?"
They got my homie hemmed up and they all around
Can't none of them see him if they goin' straight pound-for-pound
They wanna come up real quick before they start to clown
I best pull out my strap and lay them bustas down
They got guns to my head, I think I'm goin' down
I can't believe it's happenin' in my own town
If I had wings I would fly, let me contemplate
I glanced in the cut and I see my homie Nate
16 in the clip and one in the hole
Nate Dogg is about to make some bodies turn cold
Now they droppin' and yellin', it's a tad bit late
Nate Dogg and Warren G had to regulate
I laid all them bustas down, I let my gat explode
Now I'm switchin' my mind back into freak mode
If you want skirts, sit back and observe
I just left a gang of hoes over there on the curb
Now, Nate got the freaks and that's a known fact
Before I got jacked I was on the same track
Back up, back up, 'cause it's on
N-A-T-E and me, the Warren to the G
Just like I thought, they were in the same spot
In need of some desperate help
But Nate Dogg and the G child
Were in need of somethin' else
One of them dames was sexy as hell
I said, "Ooh, I like your size!"
She said, "My car's broke down and you seem real nice
Would you let me ride?"
I got a car full of girls and it's goin' real swell
The next stop is the Eastside Motel
I'm tweaking into a whole new era
G-funk, step to this, I dare ya
Funk on a whole new level
The rhythm is the bass and the bass is the treble
Chords, strings, we brings melody, G-funk
Where rhythm is life and life is rhythm
If you know like I know, you don't wanna step to this
It's the G-funk era, funked out with a gangsta twist
If you smoke like I smoke, then you're high like every day
And if yo' ass is a busta, 213 will regulate
Great choice! Can you do "The Message" by The Grandmaster Flash next?
Or by Nas :)
The beat sample is from Michael Mcdonald- I keep forgettin
And the intro is from the movie young guns
I will keep asking for 93 Til infinity by Souls of Mischief until you guys vibe to it! It's unreal, and the video is so cool, Oakland on the map!
These are so great🤙🏻. The music Conversation is great. Can’t wait till you get to Method Man & the Wu-tang.
Hey, 40 year old here who used to jam to all of these classics. Just wanted to thank the young man for educating me as an adult to more of the background and musical setup of these songs. Very informational and a pleasure to watch. Thanks for the renewed appreciation of when rap started for me!
I just discovered your channel today and I must say it’s now my favorite. I love hearing your dads insight. Keep up the great work :)
The intro is from the "Young Guns" movie.
I love learning hip hop history along with your dad. I love the things you know, and I love how you explain things to your dad. I'm having so much fun on this journey with you all.
My vote goes to Beastie Boys!
Thanks for this. Every hip hop track you've picked is top notch and takes me back to my childhood.
Do you think Wutang might be a bit much for your dad?
Love how he listens to his kid
Your relationship and love of music is genuine, it makes my soul happy.🙏🏻🇨🇦
you guys do a great job. i enjoy the commentary. I would enjoy this father son dual even more if you added the actual sampled songs of old and the songs of the young son.
Living the series and breakdowns, also words like "Buster and Mark" is the same as square, goof, nerd or someone who is seen as less than valuable or not down ... Even the word punk (in a scardy cat relation) can be linked to the word "Buster".
Keep up the great content.
Salute
This song is the the rebirth of hip hop it saved Def jam from going Bankrupt
it was on above the rim soundtrack
if you never seen that move before you should definitely check it out 2pac has a role in it also
stumbled on your videos and fell in love with the 2 generations of perspectives. Your dad is wonderful!
The sync bobbing heads does it for me. Love it
