I was given one free as not working. Thought I would try and see what was wrong, fuse, blown capacitor etc. Looked around inside, nothing obvious, circuit board ok I thought. Unplugged cables. Reseated everything and before connecting the speakers powered it up.......Ta Dah......led came on. Put all back and it worked!!! So loose connection? Cheesy drum section but nice effects. A new amp for £ 0 and maybe an hour or so of my time 😀
I got one of these for using with a synthesizer! My logic was that this one would fair better than the standard portable micro cube, as well as folks on forums saying that bass amps are better for synths. What are your thoughts in regards to useing it with say a MicroKorg?
I agree with your logic and the "folks on the forums". Bass amps are great for keyboards. And it's nice to have some extra effects on the amp too, just in case your keyboard needs that little extra :)
Wish I had the new one like that I have the original no drum machine weird power on back Need paper clip to turn on and sometimes it’s stuck wit echo on when I turn dial down I don’t know y but for $30 uses guess I can’t complain I’m beginner n only playing at home.. I don’t understand the tuning fork on the amp too like what’s the difference in settings what’s it for etc
They'll both work with bass. I think the bass version has some different amp models and also a bass synth effect, but apart from that they're pretty similar.
With a bass guitar, try setting it on the Black Panel setting and turning the treble and mid all the way down with the bass at least 75% of the way up.
Hi, How is this amp compared to Street Cube - If you have any info on this, specially for volume using batteries (I need a more powerful amp than Street Cube, but can't afford Street Cube EX - This sounds like a good alternative). thanks!
I've heard the Cube is a bit louder but the effects, modelling and overall sound are a bit disappointing. I can't confirm this from personal experience because the Street cube EX, I think you might agree, is over-priced. So I haven't acquired one as yet. Try it on Black Panel and turn treble and mid all the way down, with bass up at least 75% of the way. I have a Cube 30X and a Cube 80XL. The manuals say that turning the equalizer controls all the way down mutes them only on the amp's Fender models. I don't know if that's also true on the RX, but it's worth a try.
I think that too! heh The only problem is that here in my country the Roland is much more expensive: 432.22$. The Blackstar is 135.85$. what do you think ? Thanks
Kurgan100 ouch! For that price I'd go for the blackstar. The RX amps are great but they have are over-priced in all currencies. Way cheaper second hand, though. Like all amps they depreciate very steeply.
these little guys are less than 3 amps yet they pack a punch that is out of this world if you're playing like in an office a small hotel room a small bedroom it will fill the room completely would sound like a nice little boom box
Just a bit of general advice for commenting on UA-cam videos or anything really: Comments like this make you look like a petulant 14 year old. And the ellipses just makes it worse. When you want to say something negative, use the three-part method - start with positive, give the negative, finish with positive. This means you'll have more chance of getting an improved product and just reflects better on yourself as an adult. #gearfacts

I'm assuming this one is more powerful as it has 4 speakers as compared to Street Cube, which has only 2, but I could be wrong
