Great review and chops! I’ve been looking for something I can take busking with our band and found an RX today which I bought after seeing your review. Thanks for the rundown👍🏼🇦🇺
i'm a well seasoned bassist and bought one of these because i no longer am a stage visitor and need to play in tight quarters (neighbors, eh) ~~this "little" thing is a MONSTER~~one thing you did not mention (unless i missed it) is that the amp also runs on 9 AA batts and comes with a shoulder strap (for all us street players)~~good for 8 +- hrs cord-free @ #8 vol level~~thx for the vid man~~thump on, eh!! ``
That's a solid bit of kit and that was the best review I have seen for it. Nice one. I bought mine back in about 2009 and it is still going strong. The technology is amazing, and that's from someone who used to play old Vox and Marshal valve amps
Man a lot of these well known bass and amp companies should let you present their equipment, that was awesome, that really make me wanna go purchase one. Thanx brotha!
Thanks for going through all of the rhythm sounds in detail--that looks surprisingly useful for practice. I like jazz and Bossa, and good rhythms for those are right there. I found a used one at Guitar Center today and it's on its way. I currently use a Phil Jones Briefcase for my weekly church gig, but will be playing occasionally in an even smaller venue (classroom), so I hope that this light little amp will do the trick.
Man, that was one great review, both this - and a recommendation by a friend out of NYC have me completely sold, and I hope to be purchasing one for myself an a few hours from now. I also really like that mute set up you have up by the nut, as I've been playing my 5 string and 6 string basses in what is called reciprocal fifths [Chapman Stick tuning...] and I've been trying to figure out a good mute set up, seems like you solved that for me as well. Again, great video... cheers !!
Roland should give you a commission. :) This video convinced me that this is the practice amp I must get. Love your playing too, neat bending technique especially.
One of the best reviews i hve seen . There's one on marketplace i am not a bass player but new to acoustic guitar. Everyone says i need some type of metronome i think that feature would serve me well .
Thanks for taking the time to point out all the features. I'm thinking of getting this for my acoustic bass and it looks like it will fit my needs perfectly.:-)
I truly appreciated your review. You took the TIME to demonstrate to your viewers the features and sound of this amp. The only question I have is how loud can it play? I have my Eden rig; however, I was looking to get something for my daughter who is a little more than a beginner and is tech savvy.
great vid and i could/would be a planetary sales person as a bassist for this product~~i encourage all bassists to consider this amp as a valued part of your collection of actual "usable" gear~~~aaalllhhmmmm the groove, ehyaHO!!
Yo you really need to upload consistently every week, i think you could be pretty big on youtube and even earn a lot of money doing what i can see you love to do! Keep up the good work bro!
I just picked one up from music go round broh, and it's definitely a great purchase for what I got it for. Looking for a second one so I can leave at the apartment in Canada so I want be having to lug one from the states and I also have a SX six string watching your vids. Thanks
Love the review! Sweet tones. I've been telling my best friend that every amp should have a built-in metronome and of course Roland beat me to the idea lol. Thanks for the review.
Heyy should I purchase this Roland RX for bass busking? I have the Roland Mobile Cube at the moment and it has a great sound and good volume but it starts clipping on Bass at 1/4 of Max Volume. Does this amp have clean bass at higher volumes? Is it good for outside battery-powered/acoustic busking? Also does it get even louder when plugged to the mains than when running on batteries?
If this piece were on the market back in Feb 1996 when I bought my first electric bass, it would have been my amp of choice. The way you have demoed it, it kicks! Out of sheer, trivial curiosity, what's the wattage?
I helps muffle the strings so they dont ring out when u aren't playing them. Example let's say God smiles on me and I get a bass solo. It gives more freedom to my hands to play faster and not worry about the open sings making noise
@@BullyThaKidd I tried it with plain rubber bands on my 5 string and liked it! On a random second thought, original P-Basses had a wool damper jig on the bridge kind a the same cool deal, Thanks for the review and the video tips!
Is there a recording out capability on the amp. For example I plug the aux out to an input on my interface and directly record the amps sound without any vst guitar amps or anything, just straight recording as audio? And also is there a foot switch for turning on n off the different effects etc?
I have the non-bass Roland Cube 4 x 4" RX which I use with my Strat. Can I use it with a new bass guitar I'm getting or do I need to buy this as well as ??
Guessing I may be too late here, but just for future reference, no.. Bass is too powerful for a guitar amp. If you used this amp (or any bass amp for that matter) with your guitar however...
Question now that you have had this one and the boss are they both a solid product? I have the boss and have the opportunity to also get this model. Just is it just as good as the boss?
Anyone used it for busking? tryna find this is like finding casper in a greenhouse. My question to anyone who has, is how projecting is it in open space? jamming along with a guitarist whos running it through a amp themselves of equal volume wattage.
hey my man, ive got one of those badboys and they sound great, its my only bass amp so i cant say whether others are better or worse, but all i know is that it sounds awesome, especially for that low price
whoops~~sorry man~~i did not listen far enough to hear the "battery" section of the vid~~i'll shut up now ~~ i'll still say, this amp is the BOMB for what it is and could be DI out to anything~~fx and EQ very handy~~onward then
Thanks for the demo seems like a great little amp, my only gripe is no reggae drums maybe just as well because most that do have them sound cheesy on pedals and drum machines, it seems they don't put much effort into making good reggae drum sounds, im still waiting.
Men,,call me crazy but i belive a bunch of guys like you in the right movie like senario could bring a great swing into worlds history ^^ almost as if we bring the melody from this strange situation up to the limit xD world peace n fariness my brother!! would be a pleasure to tell you about the idea. best wishes
I have one, now the only issue I’ve found is it turns into crap at high volumes. Other than that it’s an awesome little(but expensive) amp. I’ve had mine since they came out. Btw you did a very good video.
@@ConfordConford it's great for playing on the street. It's got batteries so you don't need power. It's just not a club gig rig. I used to play on the street in a 3 piece band all the time. So if that's what you want to do go for it.
Allen Brown Only if you selling! Lol . Just kidding man...I actually know about these.I had a 5 string some time ago. I just like the inlay look and SX doesn't seem to make the 6 strings that way anymore.
Can that be used as a precious amp and say sent to a party with full response speakers to play live with it. Ha imagine your out there with a band everybody's got their full sized amps. Pit a set of roller skate wheels on it maybe a handle on each side for da rodies. And that be your live rig lol
Allen man very cool 😎 demo and great chops, very well done I’m sold now just have to find one ☝️ all the best to you I liked your page and subscribed Peace out ✌️

Hello Jeff Can you make a gig outside like for exemple a guitar player and still be heard? 5 watts only right? :/

Thanks for looking out bruh. I gotta get me one of those. I live in an apartment and I get tired of using headphones sometimes.
Man a lot of these well known bass and amp companies should let you present their equipment, that was awesome, that really make me wanna go purchase one. Thanx brotha!
Thoroughly explained with nothing left out. Excellent Sir and Thank you. You have great feel and soul.

I picked up a Microcube after seeing a unit center displayed at the Bass Amp shop in North Hollywood. I appreciate a demo run through all functions.
thats a little beast !!!!, i might get one now, great review allen, ps i subed you a long while ago.. cheers rob

great review! i already have a 10-watt micro cube for my guitar, i still enjoy it to this day 👌
Thanks for taking the time to point out all the features. I'm thinking of getting this for my acoustic bass and it looks like it will fit my needs perfectly.:-)
Nice review. Very natural style of presenting that gives a really good, comprehensive review. A great help, thanks.
You gave me grins with the beats demo, boppin' with almost all the options & variations, cool ! ...
I truly appreciated your review. You took the TIME to demonstrate to your viewers the features and sound of this amp. The only question I have is how loud can it play? I have my Eden rig; however, I was looking to get something for my daughter who is a little more than a beginner and is tech savvy.
Thanks Bully. Just bought the amp and really appreciate your instruction
I love the Bass360 amp modelling setting on mine. Top little unit.
Thinking of getting one. Just for practice. At low volume will it hold up to a Low B String?
What a perfect practice amp! Thanks for the review.
Thanks for this! You gave me enough info to know I want this amp.
Mr. Brown Great Tutorial !!! One word "Variation".

Hi just brought one of these. Can you run a Wah pedal or external pedals through the foot switch channel or input?
That was a good review I have been looking for an amp like that I might have to go get one
I'm listening through the 4 micro speakers in my iPad pro. That's got a nice stereo spread even through my iPad
That's was a amazing review bro I buying it now from Ebay thanks

I think its only 10 watts rms, but the drivers are quite efficient, it's well worth the price.
Great review. Just picked one up used.
Nice job...very helpful; thanks! 👍🏻
Have you tried the Boss Dual Cube lx ?
Thank you Sir.
Can that do a warm 4 string P bass sound? Thanks.

Hitnrun69ify fret wrap by gruvgear. I helps mute strings when u aren't playing them.

thanks buddy

Is there enough volume for busking with a singer and guitar?
That seems just the job , thanks .
Bout time I see a bass demo with the microcube. Is it the regular cube or is it just for bass?
It's a bass cube
super cool man
What kind of bass is that? The neck looks pretty slim for a 6 string.

Can It be used for guitar? Will It sound well?....
Yes it can
@@BullyThaKidd thanks. In fact, I have tested, and it sounds better than the one x guitarra
whats the cost
Hi! nice demo! do you think it can handle a keyboard? - greets, Levi in Sweden
For practice yeah. Small coffee house gig yeah.
Allen Brown thanks, was thinking for practice at home, very little space! 😉
As always, hella groovy Allen! What strings are you using?
Phaidrus these are d'addario nickel round wounds... They are worn in tho
They sound nice n' crunchy! Have you ever used the D'Addario Flex Steels?
Phaidrus yeah... Can't remember them tho
worth wild?
Is it loud enough for busking with guitar and singer?
No

Gary McCormick why you want mine. There are ..........so many out there that are way better.
