In mass today I felt for the first time that Christ had sacrificed himself for me. Not for some abstract “humanity” but for me specifically and personally. He sacrificed himself for you too, and means to resurrect you into eternal life one day, so follow him.

They longed for JESUS the SAVIOR to be AS he was before---a SAVIOR who was LOVING, GENTLE and RESPECTFUL, who was never cruel to man, and who never rebuked man. This Savior forgives and bears all the sins of man, and also dies again on the cross for man. Since JESUS DEPARTED, the DISCIPLES who FOLLOW Him, and all the saints who have been saved thanks to His name, have been desperate for Him and waiting for Him. ALL THE PEOPLE WHO ARE SAVED BY THE GRACE OF JESUS CHRIST DURING THE AGE OF GRACE ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO THE JOYFUL DAY DURING THE LAST DAYS, when JESUS THE SAVIOR WILL COME IN A WHITE CLOUD and will appear to man. Of course, this is also the collective desire of all the people who ACCEPT the NAME of JESUS the SAVIOR today. Throughout the UNIVERSE, all the people who KNOW the SAVIOR of JESUS the SAVIOR are DESPERATELY AWAITING the sudden COMING of JESUS CHRIST, to FULFILL the WORDS of JESUS on EARTH: " I will return as I left. " People believe that, following the crucifixion and resurrection, Jesus returned to heaven on a white cloud, and sat down on His throne at the right hand of the Most High. - increase. Likewise, people think that Jesus will descend again on a white cloud ( this cloud refers to the cloud that Jesus rode on when He returned to heaven ), to PEOPLE DESPERATELY LONGING for Him for a thousand years years, and that He would BRING the IMAGE and CLOTHES of the JEWS. After appearing to the people, He will give them food, cause living water to spring up for them, and live with people, full of grace and love, alive and real. Etc. But JESUS the SAVIOR did NOT DO THIS; He DID THE OPPOSITE OF WHAT MAN THOUGHT. HE DID NOT COME TO THE PEOPLE LOOKING FOR HIS RETURN and DID NOT APPEAR TO ALL THE PEOPLE RIDING IN THE WHITE CLOUD. HE HAD ALREADY ARRIVED, BUT PEOPLE DID NOT KNOW HIM, AND REMAINED UNKNOWN OF HIS COMING. 🌺 Man is aimlessly waiting for Him, unaware that He has come down on a white cloud (the cloud which is His edpititu, His Words, and His entire position and everything He is), and now with a group of overcomers that He will make during the last days. People don't know this: Although the HOLY SAVIOR JESUS is full of affection and love for people, how can He work in "temples" that are INHABITED by filth and unclean SPIRITS? Although MAN AWAITS His COMING, how can He APPEAR to those who EAT the flesh of the unrighteous, DRINK the blood of the unrighteous, WEAR THE CLOTHES of the unrighteous, who BELIEVE in Him but DO NOT KNOW Him, and CONTINUOUSLY EXTORTING Him? The only thing people know is that JESUS the SAVIOR is full of love and compassion, and the sin offering is full of REDEMPTION. But MAN has NO IDEA that He is also GOD HIMSELF, ABOUNDING IN RIGHTEOUSNESS, MAJESTY, SEVERE WRATH, and JUDGMENT, and CLAIMING AUTHORITY and full of HONOR. And so even though people fervently desire and yearn for the return of the Redeemer, and even Heaven is touched by people's prayers, Jesus the Savior did not APPEAR TO PEOPLE WHO BELIEVE IN HIM but DO NOT KNOW HIM. "JEHOVAH" IS THE NAME I TOOK DURING MY WORK IN ISRAEL, AND IT MEANS THE GOD OF THE ISRAELITES (God's chosen People) WHO CAN HAVE MERCY ON MAN, CURSING MAN, AND GUIDES MAN'S LIFE. IT MEANS THAT GOD CLAIMS GREAT POWER AND IS FULL OF WISDOM. " JESUS " is Emmanuel, and it MEANS THE SIN SACRIFICE THAT IS FULL OF LOVE, FULL OF COMPASSION, AND REDEEMING MAN. He did the work in the Age of Grace, and represented the Age of Grace, and can only represent a part of the Management Plan. Which means, only JEHOVAH is the God of the chosen People of Israel, the God of ABRAHAM, THE GOD OF ISAAC, THE GOD OF JACOB, THE GOD OF MOSES, AND THE GOD OF ALL THE PEOPLE OF ISRAEL. 🌺 And so at the present time, all Israelites except the Tribe of Judah worship Jehovah. They offer Him sacrifices on the altar, and serve Him wearing the long robes of the temple priests. Only JESUS IS the REDEEMER of mankind. HE WAS THE SIN OFFERING THAT REDEEMED mankind from Sin. WHICH MEANS, THE NAME OF JESUS COMES FROM THE AGE OF GRACE, AND EXISTS BECAUSE OF THE WORK OF REDEMPTION IN THE AGE OF GRACE. I have to say, I had been battling a Delta 8 addiction for a long time and was still dabbling in it around Christmas, and when this video came out, I was high. And, I was NOT expecting this intense story of torture and execution, and full brave conviction in the face of it on the premise of God, and your reaction as a true scholar was truly insightful and shocking to my high mind. I keep coming back to this video, the part where the son says "Go ahead, for the sake of the Laws of my Lord, I disdain them [his limbs]. From Him, I hope to receive them again" as he held out his hands. And then you said "Extraordinary isn't it." and I said "YES." as I spilled my cereal on my lap. I am deeply DEEPLY appreciative of old souls who are true, true convicted scholars in the faith. Scholarship is also my vocation, but I am an artist and poet.. and have read immense amounts of the highest literature in my own time, even though I am a very poor, high school dropout, who is 28 and living with his parents (again, not still). A very important line, because while the ancients lacked a concrete belief system around an afterlife, they did believe in a vague, gloomy existence of spirits that they called shades or eidolons. Jesus makes absolutely clear that this is not what they are seeing.
The Resurrection narrative in the Gospel of Luke reflect a somewhat later period than the apostolic testimony and in fact 50 years later. They reflect a period of counter -arguments against the resurrection such as they were victims of visionary or other objectively unreal experiences . Hence the Evangelist luke has the historical Jesus saying " .......It is I myself and I am no ghost because I have flesh and bones " In fact the Glorified Body of Jesus is completely unrecognizable by human eyes !

I follow from a short video and the sermon perplexed me. I believe the spirit is resurrected not an embodied resurrection. Ie from ashes to ashes dust to dust. I agree that Jesus rose to heaven in embodied form. I don’t understand why it matters. Am I missing something? Have I missed the point of the sermon. I appreciate your sermons immensely and this is the first time in almost two years that I don’t agree with what you say. Would appreciate insight into the point of it. As an old world conservative Lutheran I have to say our Church has been lost to the so called “progressives” and has died as a genuine Christian Institution. Oh good point. We should always be aware of canards! It is how we become aware that we may be being duped. (And letting ourselves be duped). My favorite Barronesque speaking apparatus is when he peppers entreaties to ‘hear this!’ and “listen now”! He does this seamlessly and without pretense. Not looking for the amens or glory alleluias; he speaks them effortlessly in the points he presents. Doesn’t ever ask, “can I get an amen?” But if you want give that amen then go out and live as if you’ve heard his message with all of its insights, intelligence, and grace-filled truth which beckons us toward Christ and HIS message.

The big theological question surely is ‘when’, ‘for how long’?i.e. one of time, which like space will one day be no more. Our body will be resurrected on the ‘last day’ - but until then? Our soul will be in heaven or purgatory or (God forbid) hell, n’est-ce pas? In the first of these states (or locations?!) for eternity, in the second for a limited ‘time’ of purification, we are assured. But what about the last? Is a little old lady 👵🏻 who missed Sunday Mass just before being run over by that bus 🚌 Really going to suffer the same fate as Hitler, Stalin or Mao? If not, then ‘final damnation’, in whatever form it takes, cannot be eternal for all or indeed any, but Must be relative - similar to purgatory? Otherwise all these states, not just our heavenly glory, will be experienced in body and spirit after the day of judgement, and that raises questions of divine Justice that need explanation - Bishop Barron, please?
The readings and Bishop Barron's homily are timely . Recently I thoubjt it was correct to identify myself more with my soul and not my body since it is our souls that enter Heaven. But I was reminded by my husband about resurrection. Bishop explained it very well for me in this video. Now I can see the danger with that view I initially had. I realized that the reason why I had this thought is because I wanted to find a way to escape my recent physical sufferings , an idea that isn't in line with the church, and with God. I thank God that He sends people in my life to guide me in my faith since I've stopped making time to learn about it. thanks, Bishop for this homily.
It's the same case with me. Bishop Barron's daily reflections started correcting me. After this homily I will beg pardon of God for a hitherto unrecognised sin, the offence of spurning a body that is in such disrepair as mine is. Yet it was the body which enabled me to sing, once upon a time, and to get unforgettable joy from singing in Handel's Messiah - (in a cathedral); that enabled me to read, to write, to do many things I look back on with some wonder, helpless as I now am.... Praised be God, Who so gently draws back a blundering old ewe into the flock! Thanks be to the shepherd He has entrusted with His sheep.
Your body will be glorious in resurrection on the day when Our Blessed Lord will raise the bodies of all who believe in Him from the grave. That is our sure hope in Christ. He said, "and I will raise him up on the last day." Our crosses last only for a while. It is only in this life that we can love as Jesus loves, through the cross. In heaven love will no longer entail suffering. God bless you.

Every week we repeat in the Profession of faith that we believe in “resurrection of the dead” but I grew up (as a Catholic) regrettably having a more gnostic understanding of the body being a prison from which our souls would escape after death. I believe this teaching is life altering, causing Jesus’ followers to protect unborn persons and to treat our own bodies with more reverence.

I am reminded of the critics of St Mother Theresa, who said that those in her Sister's care were abused and neglected. I am reminded of the way our youth often find charity uplifting, they have an open heart for the poor and are moved to compassion for the suffering of others at least until they become too busy or over burdened with their own concerns and consumed by seeking pleasure for themselves. In the young compassionate mind of St. Mother Theresa, her heart was moved, she accepted the call to serve the poor. She stayed on that path for the rest of her life, growing in compassion. Might we learn best to understand how helping one person, the person in front of me, effects everyone directly and indirectly because of the union with God. As Bishop reminds us, we are all united in Christ, Our Savior. In another way, we may generalize every person's cross, realizing that many carry a very similar cross. So, the generalization leads one towards concern for all and not only does the effect of care given to one flow out directly and indirectly to others in their community. Generalization tends towards a focus on others if one doesn't let their concerns evaporate by thinking the problem is overwhelming or external in a disunifying direction.

Throughout the UNIVERSE, all the people who KNOW the SAVIOR of JESUS the SAVIOR are DESPERATELY AWAITING the sudden COMING of JESUS CHRIST, to FULFILL the WORDS of JESUS on EARTH: " I will return as I left. " People believe that, following the crucifixion and resurrection, Jesus returned to heaven on a white cloud, and sat down on His throne at the right hand of the Most High. - increase. Likewise, people think that Jesus will descend again on a white cloud ( this cloud refers to the cloud that Jesus rode on when He returned to heaven ), to PEOPLE DESPERATELY LONGING for Him for a thousand years years, and that He would BRING the IMAGE and CLOTHES of the JEWS. After appearing to the people, He will give them food, cause living water to spring up for them, and live with people, full of grace and love, alive and real. Etc. But JESUS the SAVIOR did NOT DO THIS; He DID THE OPPOSITE OF WHAT MAN THOUGHT. HE DID NOT COME TO THE PEOPLE LOOKING FOR HIS RETURN and DID NOT APPEAR TO ALL THE PEOPLE RIDING IN THE WHITE CLOUD. HE HAD ALREADY ARRIVED, BUT PEOPLE DID NOT KNOW HIM, AND REMAINED UNKNOWN OF HIS COMING. 🌺 Man is aimlessly waiting for Him, unaware that He has come down on a white cloud (the cloud which is His edpititu, His Words, and His entire position and everything He is), and now with a group of overcomers that He will make during the last days. People don't know this: Although the HOLY SAVIOR JESUS is full of affection and love for people, how can He work in "temples" that are INHABITED by filth and unclean SPIRITS? Although MAN AWAITS His COMING, how can He APPEAR to those who EAT the flesh of the unrighteous, DRINK the blood of the unrighteous, WEAR THE CLOTHES of the unrighteous, who BELIEVE in Him but DO NOT KNOW Him, and CONTINUOUSLY EXTORTING Him? The only thing people know is that JESUS the SAVIOR is full of love and compassion, and the sin offering is full of REDEMPTION. But MAN has NO IDEA that He is also GOD HIMSELF, ABOUNDING IN RIGHTEOUSNESS, MAJESTY, SEVERE WRATH, and JUDGMENT, and CLAIMING AUTHORITY and full of HONOR. And so even though people fervently desire and yearn for the return of the Redeemer, and even Heaven is touched by people's prayers, Jesus the Savior did not APPEAR TO PEOPLE WHO BELIEVE IN HIM but DO NOT KNOW HIM. "JEHOVAH" IS THE NAME I TOOK DURING MY WORK IN ISRAEL, AND IT MEANS THE GOD OF THE ISRAELITES (God's chosen People) WHO CAN HAVE MERCY ON MAN, CURSING MAN, AND GUIDES MAN'S LIFE. IT MEANS THAT GOD CLAIMS GREAT POWER AND IS FULL OF WISDOM. " JESUS " is Emmanuel, and it MEANS THE SIN SACRIFICE THAT IS FULL OF LOVE, FULL OF COMPASSION, AND REDEEMING MAN. He did the work in the Age of Grace, and represented the Age of Grace, and can only represent a part of the Management Plan. Which means, only JEHOVAH is the God of the chosen People of Israel, the God of ABRAHAM, THE GOD OF ISAAC, THE GOD OF JACOB, THE GOD OF MOSES, AND THE GOD OF ALL THE PEOPLE OF ISRAEL. 🌺 And so at the present time, all Israelites except the Tribe of Judah worship Jehovah. They offer Him sacrifices on the altar, and serve Him wearing the long robes of the temple priests. Only JESUS IS the REDEEMER of mankind. HE WAS THE SIN OFFERING THAT REDEEMED mankind from Sin. WHICH MEANS, THE NAME OF JESUS COMES FROM THE AGE OF GRACE, AND EXISTS BECAUSE OF THE WORK OF REDEMPTION IN THE AGE OF GRACE. Another person who believed in life after death, was a woman who cared for the oppressed on this earth because she knew she, and they would be renewed in heaven. My most favorite, Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta. That I could even slightly emulate her during my lifetime would be a most worthy desire.
The Old Testament is so much more complicated then the New. Especially since Our Lord on more then one occasion often said he came to renew not follow the Old Testament. He was the New Light of the world. Yet our Church continues to reflect on the Old Testament to collaborate and support on the New. Personally I continue to find this bewildering, yet your homily has made this much clearer. But not completely so my journey for enlightenment continues. This Savior forgives and bears all the sins of man, and also dies again on the cross for man. Since JESUS DEPARTED, the DISCIPLES who FOLLOW Him, and all the saints who have been saved thanks to His name, have been desperate for Him and waiting for Him. ALL THE PEOPLE WHO ARE SAVED BY THE GRACE OF JESUS CHRIST DURING THE AGE OF GRACE ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO THE JOYFUL DAY DURING THE LAST DAYS, when JESUS THE SAVIOR WILL COME IN A WHITE CLOUD and will appear to man. Thank you Bishop Baron for this beautiful homily, enlightening those who listens and understand. 😊🙏 This actually came up last night with group of friends. * The questions that came up… Do you believe in life after death? … Why is God allowing all the bad things happening on earth?… Do you believe in ghost?… what happens when you die?… Where do you think those who died go? Are they already in heaven, or floating around, feeling their presence at times? 💭 * Some answers that were voiced out… When you die, you die, that’s it. 🤔… There are those who don’t believe anymore of life after death… Some just listening… One said, she’d like to believe her loved ones already in heaven and happily met each other again there. * Now I think ( this is just me 😊), the first question to be asked is, Do you believe in God? If so, then you must believe that you were his creation, that he gave you life, that everything that you are, and have, and do is because he made them so. At the same time you must be believing in what is written in the Holy Scriptures, about Jesus, and resurrection, and heaven, to hope, to count on, to work on towards, and everything that revolves around it. 🤔 🙏 Therefore you must be working towards what was promised… a happy, joyful, peaceful life. ⭐️ ❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏✌️✌️✌️ 🌍 … Otherwise, If you don’t… how did you and everything on earth, come into existence? why, how else are you here then? With nothing to look forward to? Those who are trying to do good, to be righteous, why? Where did they get the ideas? What’s the point? ( Like dolls, toys, items… discarded afterwards?🧐😱). …Those who are continuing to live carelessly, wickedly, unrighteously, without minding about others welfare, and well being… perhaps they don’t believe at all, or have ceased to believe for some reasons of their own, that they just decided to choose to do whatever, not worrying about being good or bad… perhaps thinking they will just die and be gone, and that’s it. 😔 😢 * If you believe, you are looking forward to something greater than what we are, what we have right now; and preparing for it. Thank you Bishop for your interesting homily. I think a great deal about heaven and I see images of Jesus, whom I love with all my heart and soul, in heaven. I also have always been very aware of the suffering of others near and far away. Most of the time I don't talk to others about this because i have been told, "why do you care so much, there is nothing you can do about it". But I pray for others that I don't personally know. Thank you for making it clear that it means something to care about the whole world, and that is what God wants, to care about things beyond your own nose.
Christina, please don't ever stop caring for those in most need around the world. It shows that you have a caring heart and empathy for those suffering. I do as well. I wish priests across the country would have delivered this homily. Of course, Bishop Barron is right that hope for the resurrection, which Catholic affirm in saying the Creed at Mass, is very rare. Instead, hope for a disembodied eternity in heaven is the presumed afterlife.
All of Bishop Barron’s sermons are inspiring. I particularly liked this one because of the Maccabee story of the brothers choosing death over submission to the Greek Gods. The materialist’s v Christian spiritual God. Materialist’s have gods….it’s THEM! There is always a God….that’s what the fight is about! The Maccabee story is a beautiful reminder of the great faith in the Jewish/Christian God. ♥️✝️

People don't know this: Although the HOLY SAVIOR JESUS is full of affection and love for people, how can He work in "temples" that are INHABITED by filth and unclean SPIRITS? Although MAN AWAITS His COMING, how can He APPEAR to those who EAT the flesh of the unrighteous, DRINK the blood of the unrighteous, WEAR THE CLOTHES of the unrighteous, who BELIEVE in Him but DO NOT KNOW Him, and CONTINUOUSLY EXTORTING Him? The only thing people know is that JESUS the SAVIOR is full of love and compassion, and the sin offering is full of REDEMPTION. But MAN has NO IDEA that He is also GOD HIMSELF, ABOUNDING IN RIGHTEOUSNESS, MAJESTY, SEVERE WRATH, and JUDGMENT, and CLAIMING AUTHORITY and full of HONOR. And so even though people fervently desire and yearn for the return of the Redeemer, and even Heaven is touched by people's prayers, Jesus the Savior did not APPEAR TO PEOPLE WHO BELIEVE IN HIM but DO NOT KNOW HIM. "JEHOVAH" IS THE NAME I TOOK DURING MY WORK IN ISRAEL, AND IT MEANS THE GOD OF THE ISRAELITES (God's chosen People) WHO CAN HAVE MERCY ON MAN, CURSING MAN, AND GUIDES MAN'S LIFE. IT MEANS THAT GOD CLAIMS GREAT POWER AND IS FULL OF WISDOM. " JESUS " is Emmanuel, and it MEANS THE SIN SACRIFICE THAT IS FULL OF LOVE, FULL OF COMPASSION, AND REDEEMING MAN. He did the work in the Age of Grace, and represented the Age of Grace, and can only represent a part of the Management Plan. Which means, only JEHOVAH is the God of the chosen People of Israel, the God of ABRAHAM, THE GOD OF ISAAC, THE GOD OF JACOB, THE GOD OF MOSES, AND THE GOD OF ALL THE PEOPLE OF ISRAEL. 🌺 And so at the present time, all Israelites except the Tribe of Judah worship Jehovah. They offer Him sacrifices on the altar, and serve Him wearing the long robes of the temple priests. Only JESUS IS the REDEEMER of mankind. HE WAS THE SIN OFFERING THAT REDEEMED mankind from Sin. I wanted to give up! Because the devil has sent so many people to destroy me but my struggles have brought me closer to God. Even though I have fallen on hard times I will still praise JESUS. God gives me strength. I will only pursue the wisdom of GOD instead of the wisdom of this world. I’m a single mother. I lost my job as a social worker at Forsyth hospital over declining the vaccine, I declined due to my pre existing health conditions lupus and heart disease. Also the law still stands for hospitals that participate in Medicare and Medicaid have to be vaccinated against COVID-19. I’ve been struggling to provide ever since. I can’t seem to get back on my feet. I’m struggling financially, desperately trying to support my two autistic children and myself. I’m now waitressing, and I’m so thankful but I’m not making nearly enough to get by. Every month is a struggle not to end up on the streets with my two boys. But I keep faith in God, no MATTER WHAT. I know he will provide. He has this far. He is the God of Possible. Please keep me and my children in your prayers.

He did the work in the Age of Grace, and represented the Age of Grace, and can only represent a part of the Management Plan. It's a powerful point, especially toward the end of this homily, that the Resurrection means something for us now and gives us purpose in living and also serving others.
Dear Eleanor, I also thank Bishop Barron for his instructive sermons. I don't remember many of the people I knew speaking much of reading the Bible(I'm 85). Mass was in Latin, including the readings and Gospel Passage so we had the homily which one tried to listen as best as one could and I'm sure phrases would have stuck in the mind somehow. But we had the Catechism from beginning school and knowledge was given and developed each year the same as the other subjects. Always from young I remember the first parts, who is God and why did God made us and so one knew that this was very special We knew our prayers which were learned as we grew over the years and of course from our parents. Of course we knew the stories of Abraham's son, of Moses and Noah and then of course the Parables- NT which we had to memorize. There was also - and still is - the great feast days to be celebrated. I followed my families example in living as best I could but being human many times I fell by the way side. Since Vatican 2 the reading the Bible is well encouraged and this is good but Faith is also very important and so are good faithful leaders. The people of the Bible were always waiting for the coming of the Lord - so now the Lord has come.

I am not Catholic, but I love your messages. You touched on a subject that is very important to people like myself ( a widower) that being marriage in heaven. While I understand the proposed concept of no marriage ceremonies in heaven, people like myself do want to know we will be reunited with spouses that we loved here on earth and continue to love to this day. We want to know that love will not be minimized in the Afterlife. People in hospice care and close to death speak of seeing their loved ones, including spouses, in dreams and visions. I would love to see you tackle this subject more in depth. Tackle it without falling back on the, Jesus is the bridegroom and the church is the bride analogy. This question is strictly about what happens to our earthly relationships. Thanks.
I thought he explained that you will be reunited with your spouse. And that your relationship will be more intense and better than on earth because of both your relationships with God.
@Theresa Guzzo yes he said that, but I took it to mean all friendships, relationships, and people we knew. I felt as if he was being purposefully vague with respect to loving spousal relationships. Admittedly I can be a bit sensitive when it comes to this topic. I get weary of having the Bible story of the 7 brothers who marry the same woman thrown at me to prove we have no spousal relationship in heaven. In that story, the question had nothing to do with marriage. It was centered on the resurrection.
@Tom E, as the gospel points out, marital relationships will not be entered into, they will not be necessary, because all those worthy to enter into heaven are in the presence of Divine love and participate in that Divine love, which is so much greater than the marital love here on earth. Do not be troubled by the thought that you will not be resurrected to your wife, b/c you will be resurrected to your new life in Christ, as she has been resurrected as well and you both will participate in the all encompassing Love🙌🏻❤️ ( at least that’s how I interpret it😉) God Bless You🙌🏻!

Jesus said in heaven there are many houses. Will each individual in heaven live by themselves? Of course not. It is likely you will live as a family unit. It is the love we cultivated on earth that binds us in heaven.

How full of hope and truth is this homily. Both soul and body are redeemed. The adage « Saving souls » as a description for the work of the Church is enriched to « Saving the whole person », body and soul. Through Christ’s resurrection, I « at a higher pitch » will live loved into perfect existence with and in God. I see and understand you are very moved by this message from this priest. But would you be willing be willing to believe what the Bible says about going to heaven? Notice what Acts 29 says about David: "Men and brethren let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulcher is with us unto this day. So we see David died.But did David ascend up to heaven? Notice verse 34:For David is not ascended into the heavens ..." So here you see David died but he did not go to an heavenly realm David is dead and waiting a resurrection No one dies and go to heaven. But would you be willing to believe the Bible over what men say? Notice what Jesus said in John 3:13: "And no Man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven,even the Son of man.... Do you believe what Christ said? I know you are very emotional in believing what the priest said that I would be surprised if you believed in the scripture I just gave you.Moses,Elijah, are not Alive in heaven somewhere -they are dead waiting the resurrection.

I was internally sighing thru the week as I practiced it at home. My thoughts were 'oh why do I get these awful dreary passages to proclaim??" What a difference your explanation makes. Bless you.
Thanks Bishop! The Church Jesus built is THE most charitable institution cuz He is there being served to us when we are there to gratefully give Him the honor and praise He is due! And, He said the poor would be with us always which is very reassuring because God Himself said it! And it is through His Church that He has reassured the poor such as Lazarus, who the rich man still was too arrogant to speak directly to in the parable Jesus told.
It's interesting, too, that Abraham was aware of the way Lazarus had been treated, and the rich man knew who Abraham was. So wherever a person ends up they will apparently be aware of some things.
I'm not a Roman Catholic and am fairly knowledgeable in the Bible and this teaching is spot on! Excellent teaching!
But the Book where this reading is about, is not in the Protestant bible.🙏
In mass today I felt for the first time that Christ had sacrificed himself for me. Not for some abstract “humanity” but for me specifically and personally. He sacrificed himself for you too, and means to resurrect you into eternal life one day, so follow him.

MAN DESIRES that the SAVIOR RETURN and reunite with the people, that is, that JESUS the SAVIOR RETURN to the PEOPLE who have been SEPARATE from Him for thousands of years. And MAN HOPED HE WILL AGAIN DO THE WORK OF REDEMPTION HE DID TO THE JEWS, BE COMPASSIONATE AND LOVING TO MAN, FORGIVE MAN'S SINS, BEAR MAN'S SINS, and BEAR all MAN'S VIOLATIONS , and will save people from sin.
They longed for JESUS the SAVIOR to be AS he was before---a SAVIOR who was LOVING, GENTLE and RESPECTFUL, who was never cruel to man, and who never rebuked man.
This Savior forgives and bears all the sins of man, and also dies again on the cross for man.
Since JESUS DEPARTED, the DISCIPLES who FOLLOW Him, and all the saints who have been saved thanks to His name, have been desperate for Him and waiting for Him.
ALL THE PEOPLE WHO ARE SAVED BY THE GRACE OF JESUS CHRIST DURING THE AGE OF GRACE ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO THE JOYFUL DAY DURING THE LAST DAYS, when JESUS THE SAVIOR WILL COME IN A WHITE CLOUD and will appear to man. Of course, this is also the collective desire of all the people who ACCEPT the NAME of JESUS the SAVIOR today. Throughout the UNIVERSE, all the people who KNOW the SAVIOR of JESUS the SAVIOR are DESPERATELY AWAITING the sudden COMING of JESUS CHRIST, to FULFILL the WORDS of JESUS on EARTH:
" I will return as I left. " People believe that, following the crucifixion and resurrection, Jesus returned to heaven on a white cloud, and sat down on His throne at the right hand of the Most High. - increase.
Likewise, people think that Jesus will descend again on a white cloud ( this cloud refers to the cloud that Jesus rode on when He returned to heaven ), to PEOPLE DESPERATELY LONGING for Him for a thousand years years, and that He would BRING the IMAGE and CLOTHES of the JEWS.
After appearing to the people, He will give them food, cause living water to spring up for them, and live with people, full of grace and love, alive and real. Etc. But JESUS the SAVIOR did NOT DO THIS; He DID THE OPPOSITE OF WHAT MAN THOUGHT. HE DID NOT COME TO THE PEOPLE LOOKING FOR HIS RETURN and DID NOT APPEAR TO ALL THE PEOPLE RIDING IN THE WHITE CLOUD.
HE HAD ALREADY ARRIVED, BUT PEOPLE DID NOT KNOW HIM, AND REMAINED UNKNOWN OF HIS COMING. 🌺
Man is aimlessly waiting for Him, unaware that He has come down on a white cloud (the cloud which is His edpititu, His Words, and His entire position and everything He is), and now with a group of overcomers that He will make during the last days.
People don't know this: Although the HOLY SAVIOR JESUS is full of affection and love for people, how can He work in "temples" that are INHABITED by filth and unclean SPIRITS?
Although MAN AWAITS His COMING, how can He APPEAR to those who EAT the flesh of the unrighteous, DRINK the blood of the unrighteous, WEAR THE CLOTHES of the unrighteous, who BELIEVE in Him but DO NOT KNOW Him, and CONTINUOUSLY EXTORTING Him?
The only thing people know is that JESUS the SAVIOR is full of love and compassion, and the sin offering is full of REDEMPTION.
But MAN has NO IDEA that He is also GOD HIMSELF, ABOUNDING IN RIGHTEOUSNESS, MAJESTY, SEVERE WRATH, and JUDGMENT, and CLAIMING AUTHORITY and full of HONOR.
And so even though people fervently desire and yearn for the return of the Redeemer, and even Heaven is touched by people's prayers, Jesus the Savior did not APPEAR TO PEOPLE WHO BELIEVE IN HIM but DO NOT KNOW HIM.

Too, if you like reading online the New American Bible is available on the Vatican website complete with its wonderful footnotes! If you open up two tabs (or more) on your device, you can easily look up the references those footnotes provide.
I have to say, I had been battling a Delta 8 addiction for a long time and was still dabbling in it around Christmas, and when this video came out, I was high. And, I was NOT expecting this intense story of torture and execution, and full brave conviction in the face of it on the premise of God, and your reaction as a true scholar was truly insightful and shocking to my high mind. I am deeply DEEPLY appreciative of old souls who are true, true convicted scholars in the faith. Scholarship is also my vocation, but I am an artist and poet.. and have read immense amounts of the highest literature in my own time, even though I am a very poor, high school dropout, who is 28 and living with his parents (again, not still). A very important line, because while the ancients lacked a concrete belief system around an afterlife, they did believe in a vague, gloomy existence of spirits that they called shades or eidolons. Jesus makes absolutely clear that this is not what they are seeing.
The Resurrection narrative in the Gospel of Luke reflect a somewhat later period than the apostolic testimony and in fact 50 years later.
They reflect a period of counter -arguments against the resurrection such as they were victims of visionary or other objectively unreal experiences .
Hence the Evangelist luke has the historical Jesus saying " .......It is I myself and I am no ghost because I have flesh and bones "

People don't know this: Although the HOLY SAVIOR JESUS is full of affection and love for people, how can He work in "temples" that are INHABITED by filth and unclean SPIRITS?
Although MAN AWAITS His COMING, how can He APPEAR to those who EAT the flesh of the unrighteous, DRINK the blood of the unrighteous, WEAR THE CLOTHES of the unrighteous, who BELIEVE in Him but DO NOT KNOW Him, and CONTINUOUSLY EXTORTING Him?
The only thing people know is that JESUS the SAVIOR is full of love and compassion, and the sin offering is full of REDEMPTION.

And so even though people fervently desire and yearn for the return of the Redeemer, and even Heaven is touched by people's prayers, Jesus the Savior did not APPEAR TO PEOPLE WHO BELIEVE IN HIM but DO NOT KNOW HIM.
"JEHOVAH" IS THE NAME I TOOK DURING MY WORK IN ISRAEL, AND IT MEANS THE GOD OF THE ISRAELITES (God's chosen People) WHO CAN HAVE MERCY ON MAN, CURSING MAN, AND GUIDES MAN'S LIFE. IT MEANS THAT GOD CLAIMS GREAT POWER AND IS FULL OF WISDOM.
" JESUS " is Emmanuel, and it MEANS THE SIN SACRIFICE THAT IS FULL OF LOVE, FULL OF COMPASSION, AND REDEEMING MAN. He did the work in the Age of Grace, and represented the Age of Grace, and can only represent a part of the Management Plan. I follow from a short video and the sermon perplexed me.
I believe the spirit is resurrected not an embodied resurrection. Ie from ashes to ashes dust to dust.
I agree that Jesus rose to heaven in embodied form.
I don’t understand why it matters. Am I missing something? Have I missed the point of the sermon.

As an old world conservative Lutheran I have to say our Church has been lost to the so called “progressives” and has died as a genuine Christian Institution. I now attend services on line in county Down, Ireland each week and so enjoy Worship again. Bishop Baron is a most learned Scholar and I really enjoy his talks. It’s my Prayer that God Bless him.

My favorite Barronesque speaking apparatus is when he peppers entreaties to ‘hear this!’ and “listen now”!
He does this seamlessly and without pretense.

The big theological question surely is ‘when’, ‘for how long’?i.e. one of time, which like space will one day be no more. Our body will be resurrected on the ‘last day’ - but until then? Our soul will be in heaven or purgatory or (God forbid) hell, n’est-ce pas? In the first of these states (or locations?!) for eternity, in the second for a limited ‘time’ of purification, we are assured. But what about the last? Is a little old lady 👵🏻 who missed Sunday Mass just before being run over by that bus 🚌 Really going to suffer the same fate as Hitler, Stalin or Mao? If not, then ‘final damnation’, in whatever form it takes, cannot be eternal for all or indeed any, but Must be relative - similar to purgatory? Otherwise all these states, not just our heavenly glory, will be experienced in body and spirit after the day of judgement, and that raises questions of divine Justice that need explanation - Bishop Barron, please?
The readings and Bishop Barron's homily are timely . Recently I thoubjt it was correct to identify myself more with my soul and not my body since it is our souls that enter Heaven. But I was reminded by my husband about resurrection. Bishop explained it very well for me in this video. Now I can see the danger with that view I initially had. I realized that the reason why I had this thought is because I wanted to find a way to escape my recent physical sufferings , an idea that isn't in line with the church, and with God.
I thank God that He sends people in my life to guide me in my faith since I've stopped making time to learn about it. thanks, Bishop for this homily.

After this homily I will beg pardon of God for a hitherto unrecognised sin, the offence of spurning a body that is in such disrepair as mine is. Yet it was the body which enabled me to sing, once upon a time, and to get unforgettable joy from singing in Handel's Messiah - (in a cathedral); that enabled me to read, to write, to do many things I look back on with some wonder, helpless as I now am.... Praised be God, Who so gently draws back a blundering old ewe into the flock! Thanks be to the shepherd He has entrusted with His sheep.
Don't worry, you will escape your physical suffering. In heaven we will have glorified bodies, not the fallen ones we have now.
Your body will be glorious in resurrection on the day when Our Blessed Lord will raise the bodies of all who believe in Him from the grave. That is our sure hope in Christ. He said, "and I will raise him up on the last day."
Our crosses last only for a while. It is only in this life that we can love as Jesus loves, through the cross. In heaven love will no longer entail suffering. God bless you.

Every week we repeat in the Profession of faith that we believe in “resurrection of the dead” but I grew up (as a Catholic) regrettably having a more gnostic understanding of the body being a prison from which our souls would escape after death. I believe this teaching is life altering, causing Jesus’ followers to protect unborn persons and to treat our own bodies with more reverence.

I am reminded of the critics of St Mother Theresa, who said that those in her Sister's care were abused and neglected. I am reminded of the way our youth often find charity uplifting, they have an open heart for the poor and are moved to compassion for the suffering of others at least until they become too busy or over burdened with their own concerns and consumed by seeking pleasure for themselves.
In the young compassionate mind of St. Mother Theresa, her heart was moved, she accepted the call to serve the poor. She stayed on that path for the rest of her life, growing in compassion.
Might we learn best to understand how helping one person, the person in front of me, effects everyone directly and indirectly because of the union with God. As Bishop reminds us, we are all united in Christ, Our Savior.
In another way, we may generalize every person's cross, realizing that many carry a very similar cross. So, the generalization leads one towards concern for all and not only does the effect of care given to one flow out directly and indirectly to others in their community. Generalization tends towards a focus on others if one doesn't let their concerns evaporate by thinking the problem is overwhelming or external in a disunifying direction.
I just love your passion and how you say "don't bore me..." etc, your exasperation is clear, but you make it all xlear and shed light on every shade and hue of darkness. God bless you, I pray the world has you for many years to come in my lifetime, we continue to need you! 💜

Almighty God said
For thousands of years, man has longed to witness the COMING OF THE SAVIOR. MAN LONGS TO SEE JESUS THE SAVIOR IN THE WHITE CLOUD as He descends, in His person, to those who have longed and longed for Him for thousands of years. MAN DESIRES that the SAVIOR RETURN and reunite with the people, that is, that JESUS the SAVIOR RETURN to the PEOPLE who have been SEPARATE from Him for thousands of years. And MAN HOPED HE WILL AGAIN DO THE WORK OF REDEMPTION HE DID TO THE JEWS, BE COMPASSIONATE AND LOVING TO MAN, FORGIVE MAN'S SINS, BEAR MAN'S SINS, and BEAR all MAN'S VIOLATIONS , and will save people from sin.
They longed for JESUS the SAVIOR to be AS he was before---a SAVIOR who was LOVING, GENTLE and RESPECTFUL, who was never cruel to man, and who never rebuked man.
This Savior forgives and bears all the sins of man, and also dies again on the cross for man.
Since JESUS DEPARTED, the DISCIPLES who FOLLOW Him, and all the saints who have been saved thanks to His name, have been desperate for Him and waiting for Him.
ALL THE PEOPLE WHO ARE SAVED BY THE GRACE OF JESUS CHRIST DURING THE AGE OF GRACE ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO THE JOYFUL DAY DURING THE LAST DAYS, when JESUS THE SAVIOR WILL COME IN A WHITE CLOUD and will appear to man. Of course, this is also the collective desire of all the people who ACCEPT the NAME of JESUS the SAVIOR today. Throughout the UNIVERSE, all the people who KNOW the SAVIOR of JESUS the SAVIOR are DESPERATELY AWAITING the sudden COMING of JESUS CHRIST, to FULFILL the WORDS of JESUS on EARTH:
" I will return as I left. " People believe that, following the crucifixion and resurrection, Jesus returned to heaven on a white cloud, and sat down on His throne at the right hand of the Most High. - increase.
Likewise, people think that Jesus will descend again on a white cloud ( this cloud refers to the cloud that Jesus rode on when He returned to heaven ), to PEOPLE DESPERATELY LONGING for Him for a thousand years years, and that He would BRING the IMAGE and CLOTHES of the JEWS.
After appearing to the people, He will give them food, cause living water to spring up for them, and live with people, full of grace and love, alive and real. Etc. But JESUS the SAVIOR did NOT DO THIS; He DID THE OPPOSITE OF WHAT MAN THOUGHT. HE DID NOT COME TO THE PEOPLE LOOKING FOR HIS RETURN and DID NOT APPEAR TO ALL THE PEOPLE RIDING IN THE WHITE CLOUD.
HE HAD ALREADY ARRIVED, BUT PEOPLE DID NOT KNOW HIM, AND REMAINED UNKNOWN OF HIS COMING. 🌺
Man is aimlessly waiting for Him, unaware that He has come down on a white cloud (the cloud which is His edpititu, His Words, and His entire position and everything He is), and now with a group of overcomers that He will make during the last days.
People don't know this: Although the HOLY SAVIOR JESUS is full of affection and love for people, how can He work in "temples" that are INHABITED by filth and unclean SPIRITS?
Although MAN AWAITS His COMING, how can He APPEAR to those who EAT the flesh of the unrighteous, DRINK the blood of the unrighteous, WEAR THE CLOTHES of the unrighteous, who BELIEVE in Him but DO NOT KNOW Him, and CONTINUOUSLY EXTORTING Him?
The only thing people know is that JESUS the SAVIOR is full of love and compassion, and the sin offering is full of REDEMPTION.
But MAN has NO IDEA that He is also GOD HIMSELF, ABOUNDING IN RIGHTEOUSNESS, MAJESTY, SEVERE WRATH, and JUDGMENT, and CLAIMING AUTHORITY and full of HONOR.
And so even though people fervently desire and yearn for the return of the Redeemer, and even Heaven is touched by people's prayers, Jesus the Savior did not APPEAR TO PEOPLE WHO BELIEVE IN HIM but DO NOT KNOW HIM.
"JEHOVAH" IS THE NAME I TOOK DURING MY WORK IN ISRAEL, AND IT MEANS THE GOD OF THE ISRAELITES (God's chosen People) WHO CAN HAVE MERCY ON MAN, CURSING MAN, AND GUIDES MAN'S LIFE. IT MEANS THAT GOD CLAIMS GREAT POWER AND IS FULL OF WISDOM.
" JESUS " is Emmanuel, and it MEANS THE SIN SACRIFICE THAT IS FULL OF LOVE, FULL OF COMPASSION, AND REDEEMING MAN. He did the work in the Age of Grace, and represented the Age of Grace, and can only represent a part of the Management Plan. Which means, only JEHOVAH is the God of the chosen People of Israel, the God of ABRAHAM, THE GOD OF ISAAC, THE GOD OF JACOB, THE GOD OF MOSES, AND THE GOD OF ALL THE PEOPLE OF ISRAEL. 🌺
And so at the present time, all Israelites except the Tribe of Judah worship Jehovah.
They offer Him sacrifices on the altar, and serve Him wearing the long robes of the temple priests.
Only JESUS IS the REDEEMER of mankind.
HE WAS THE SIN OFFERING THAT REDEEMED mankind from Sin.
WHICH MEANS, THE NAME OF JESUS COMES FROM THE AGE OF GRACE, AND EXISTS BECAUSE OF THE WORK OF REDEMPTION IN THE AGE OF GRACE.
THE NAME OF JESUS EXISTS TO ALLOW PEOPLE IN THE AGE OF GRACE TO BE BORN AGAIN AND BE SAVED, and is the ONLY NAME FOR THE REDEMPTION OF ALL MANKIND.
And so the name of Jesus REPRESENTS THE WORK OF REDEMPTION, and indicates the Age of Grace. 🌺
THE NAME JEHOVAH IS AN ONLY NAME for the people of ISRAEL WHO LIVED UNDER THE LAW. 🌺
IN EACH ERA AND EACH PHASE OF WORK, MY NAME IS NOT WITHOUT A BASE, BUT HOLDS A REPRESENTATIVE SIGNIFICANCE: EACH NAME REPRESENTS AN ERA.
" JEHOVAH " REPRESENTS the AGE of the LAW, and it is HONOR for the GOD WORSHIPED by the PEOPLE of ISRAEL.
" JESUS " REPRESENTS the AGE of GRACE, and it is the NAME of GOD to ALL PEOPLE who are REDEEMED in the AGE of GRACE.
If PEOPLE ARE STILL WAITING FOR THE COMING OF JESUS THE SAVIOR IN THE TIME OF THE LAST DAYS, and are still HOPING that He will COME in the IMAGE He brought to Judea, THEN THE ENTIRE six-thousand-year GOVERNMENT PLAN WILL STOP in the AGE of REDEMPTION, and will be UNABLE to PROGRESS any MORE.
The LAST DAYS, moreover, will never come, and the AGE will NEVER BE BROUGHT to its END.
That is because JESUS is the SAVIOR and only for the REDEMPTION and SALVATION of mankind.
I ACCEPT THE NAME JESUS FOR THE AGE OF ALL SINNERS IN THE AGE OF GRACE, AND NOT THE NAME BY WHICH I WILL BRING MANKIND TO AN END.
ALTHOUGH JEHOVAH, JESUS, AND THE MESSIAH ALL REPRESENT MY SPIRIT, THESE NAMES WILL ONLY INDICATE DIFFERENT PERIODS IN MY GOVERNMENT PLAN, AND DO NOT REPRESENT ME IN WHOLENESS. 🌺
THE NAMES THAT THE PEOPLE OF EARTH CALL ME CANNOT CLEARLY EXPLAIN MY ENTIRE DISPOSITION AND ALL THAT I AM.
These are just different NAMES that I will be called in different Ages------the AGE of the LAST DAY---has COME, My NAME WILL BE CHANGED AGAIN.

Another person who believed in life after death, was a woman who cared for the oppressed on this earth because she knew she, and they would be renewed in heaven. My most favorite, Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta. That I could even slightly emulate her during my lifetime would be a most worthy desire.
We are children of God and like our Lord Jesus Christ will be resurrected again. Amen 🙏🏼
The Old Testament is so much more complicated then the New. Especially since Our Lord on more then one occasion often said he came to renew not follow the Old Testament. He was the New Light of the world. Yet our Church continues to reflect on the Old Testament to collaborate and support on the New. Personally I continue to find this bewildering, yet your homily has made this much clearer. But not completely so my journey for enlightenment continues. Thank you so much for your Sunday teachings which I treasure very much.

For thousands of years, man has longed to witness the COMING OF THE SAVIOR. MAN LONGS TO SEE JESUS THE SAVIOR IN THE WHITE CLOUD as He descends, in His person, to those who have longed and longed for Him for thousands of years. MAN DESIRES that the SAVIOR RETURN and reunite with the people, that is, that JESUS the SAVIOR RETURN to the PEOPLE who have been SEPARATE from Him for thousands of years. And MAN HOPED HE WILL AGAIN DO THE WORK OF REDEMPTION HE DID TO THE JEWS, BE COMPASSIONATE AND LOVING TO MAN, FORGIVE MAN'S SINS, BEAR MAN'S SINS, and BEAR all MAN'S VIOLATIONS , and will save people from sin.
They longed for JESUS the SAVIOR to be AS he was before---a SAVIOR who was LOVING, GENTLE and RESPECTFUL, who was never cruel to man, and who never rebuked man.
This Savior forgives and bears all the sins of man, and also dies again on the cross for man.
Since JESUS DEPARTED, the DISCIPLES who FOLLOW Him, and all the saints who have been saved thanks to His name, have been desperate for Him and waiting for Him.
ALL THE PEOPLE WHO ARE SAVED BY THE GRACE OF JESUS CHRIST DURING THE AGE OF GRACE ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO THE JOYFUL DAY DURING THE LAST DAYS, when JESUS THE SAVIOR WILL COME IN A WHITE CLOUD and will appear to man. Of course, this is also the collective desire of all the people who ACCEPT the NAME of JESUS the SAVIOR today. Throughout the UNIVERSE, all the people who KNOW the SAVIOR of JESUS the SAVIOR are DESPERATELY AWAITING the sudden COMING of JESUS CHRIST, to FULFILL the WORDS of JESUS on EARTH:
" I will return as I left. " People believe that, following the crucifixion and resurrection, Jesus returned to heaven on a white cloud, and sat down on His throne at the right hand of the Most High. - increase.
Likewise, people think that Jesus will descend again on a white cloud ( this cloud refers to the cloud that Jesus rode on when He returned to heaven ), to PEOPLE DESPERATELY LONGING for Him for a thousand years years, and that He would BRING the IMAGE and CLOTHES of the JEWS.
After appearing to the people, He will give them food, cause living water to spring up for them, and live with people, full of grace and love, alive and real. Etc. But JESUS the SAVIOR did NOT DO THIS; He DID THE OPPOSITE OF WHAT MAN THOUGHT. HE DID NOT COME TO THE PEOPLE LOOKING FOR HIS RETURN and DID NOT APPEAR TO ALL THE PEOPLE RIDING IN THE WHITE CLOUD.
HE HAD ALREADY ARRIVED, BUT PEOPLE DID NOT KNOW HIM, AND REMAINED UNKNOWN OF HIS COMING. 🌺
Man is aimlessly waiting for Him, unaware that He has come down on a white cloud (the cloud which is His edpititu, His Words, and His entire position and everything He is), and now with a group of overcomers that He will make during the last days.
People don't know this: Although the HOLY SAVIOR JESUS is full of affection and love for people, how can He work in "temples" that are INHABITED by filth and unclean SPIRITS?
Although MAN AWAITS His COMING, how can He APPEAR to those who EAT the flesh of the unrighteous, DRINK the blood of the unrighteous, WEAR THE CLOTHES of the unrighteous, who BELIEVE in Him but DO NOT KNOW Him, and CONTINUOUSLY EXTORTING Him?
The only thing people know is that JESUS the SAVIOR is full of love and compassion, and the sin offering is full of REDEMPTION.
But MAN has NO IDEA that He is also GOD HIMSELF, ABOUNDING IN RIGHTEOUSNESS, MAJESTY, SEVERE WRATH, and JUDGMENT, and CLAIMING AUTHORITY and full of HONOR.
And so even though people fervently desire and yearn for the return of the Redeemer, and even Heaven is touched by people's prayers, Jesus the Savior did not APPEAR TO PEOPLE WHO BELIEVE IN HIM but DO NOT KNOW HIM.
"JEHOVAH" IS THE NAME I TOOK DURING MY WORK IN ISRAEL, AND IT MEANS THE GOD OF THE ISRAELITES (God's chosen People) WHO CAN HAVE MERCY ON MAN, CURSING MAN, AND GUIDES MAN'S LIFE. IT MEANS THAT GOD CLAIMS GREAT POWER AND IS FULL OF WISDOM.
" JESUS " is Emmanuel, and it MEANS THE SIN SACRIFICE THAT IS FULL OF LOVE, FULL OF COMPASSION, AND REDEEMING MAN. He did the work in the Age of Grace, and represented the Age of Grace, and can only represent a part of the Management Plan. Which means, only JEHOVAH is the God of the chosen People of Israel, the God of ABRAHAM, THE GOD OF ISAAC, THE GOD OF JACOB, THE GOD OF MOSES, AND THE GOD OF ALL THE PEOPLE OF ISRAEL. 🌺
And so at the present time, all Israelites except the Tribe of Judah worship Jehovah.
They offer Him sacrifices on the altar, and serve Him wearing the long robes of the temple priests.
Only JESUS IS the REDEEMER of mankind.
HE WAS THE SIN OFFERING THAT REDEEMED mankind from Sin.
WHICH MEANS, THE NAME OF JESUS COMES FROM THE AGE OF GRACE, AND EXISTS BECAUSE OF THE WORK OF REDEMPTION IN THE AGE OF GRACE.

This actually came up last night with group of friends.
* The questions that came up… Do you believe in life after death? … Why is God allowing all the bad things happening on earth?… Do you believe in ghost?… what happens when you die?… Where do you think those who died go? Are they already in heaven, or floating around, feeling their presence at times? 💭
* Some answers that were voiced out… When you die, you die, that’s it. 🤔… There are those who don’t believe anymore of life after death… Some just listening… One said, she’d like to believe her loved ones already in heaven and happily met each other again there.
* Now I think ( this is just me 😊), the first question to be asked is, Do you believe in God? If so, then you must believe that you were his creation, that he gave you life, that everything that you are, and have, and do is because he made them so. At the same time you must be believing in what is written in the Holy Scriptures, about Jesus, and resurrection, and heaven, to hope, to count on, to work on towards, and everything that revolves around it. 🤔 🙏 Therefore you must be working towards what was promised… a happy, joyful, peaceful life. ⭐️ ❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏✌️✌️✌️ 🌍
… Otherwise, If you don’t… how did you and everything on earth, come into existence? why, how else are you here then? With nothing to look forward to? Those who are trying to do good, to be righteous, why? Where did they get the ideas? What’s the point? Why collect so many excessive earthly items, what for… if they will just die and be the end of it? ( Like dolls, toys, items… discarded afterwards?🧐😱).
…Those who are continuing to live carelessly, wickedly, unrighteously, without minding about others welfare, and well being… perhaps they don’t believe at all, or have ceased to believe for some reasons of their own, that they just decided to choose to do whatever, not worrying about being good or bad… perhaps thinking they will just die and be gone, and that’s it. 😔 😢
* If you believe, you are looking forward to something greater than what we are, what we have right now; and preparing for it. If you believe, following what’s good and right, continuously making every possible ways to be on the right path… what will you loose? 🧐
* On the other hand, If you don’t believe, you could be missing the chance to be participating in the greatest, wonderful life there is, beyond this lifetime. 🤔 💭 🧐… 😱 😢
* Those who thinks are having a wonderful life here on earth, hoping to stay longer, 🌎 … this is perhaps just a glimpse of what we could be having, beyond this lifetime. 🌟 Imagine💫 😍😮 🤩 ❤️🥰😇🙏🎉
* So if we are mostly, righteous, when we depart from this lifetime… do we go straight to heaven… Or do we just go to 😴, while waiting for the last judgement to arrive. 🌟 … when all the ashes with the spirit, will be raised up and be judge according to what was done. Perhaps best to pray and hope, asking forgiveness without delay, changing unrighteous ways… for God to be merciful and take us with him. 🙏 😇

He loves us and wants us with him, still patiently waiting for us to come to him. “Those who believes in him, will not perish but have eternal life.” 🙏 And believing in Him, is following Jesus ways ( Our Lord, God and Saviour), which are all good and right. And those who endures to the last, will be saved. Praise the Lord and glory be to God. 🙏🙏🙏

Thank you Bishop for your interesting homily. I think a great deal about heaven and I see images of Jesus, whom I love with all my heart and soul, in heaven. I also have always been very aware of the suffering of others near and far away. Most of the time I don't talk to others about this because i have been told, "why do you care so much, there is nothing you can do about it". But I pray for others that I don't personally know. Thank you for making it clear that it means something to care about the whole world, and that is what God wants, to care about things beyond your own nose.
Christina, please don't ever stop caring for those in most need around the world. It shows that you have a caring heart and empathy for those suffering. I do as well. Every day, I pray for peace in the world, for the poor and for the suffering of this world. Believe me, God hears our prayers. God bless you.

I wish priests across the country would have delivered this homily. Of course, Bishop Barron is right that hope for the resurrection, which Catholic affirm in saying the Creed at Mass, is very rare. Instead, hope for a disembodied eternity in heaven is the presumed afterlife.

Almighty God said
For thousands of years, man has longed to witness the COMING OF THE SAVIOR. MAN LONGS TO SEE JESUS THE SAVIOR IN THE WHITE CLOUD as He descends, in His person, to those who have longed and longed for Him for thousands of years. MAN DESIRES that the SAVIOR RETURN and reunite with the people, that is, that JESUS the SAVIOR RETURN to the PEOPLE who have been SEPARATE from Him for thousands of years. Of course, this is also the collective desire of all the people who ACCEPT the NAME of JESUS the SAVIOR today. Throughout the UNIVERSE, all the people who KNOW the SAVIOR of JESUS the SAVIOR are DESPERATELY AWAITING the sudden COMING of JESUS CHRIST, to FULFILL the WORDS of JESUS on EARTH:
" I will return as I left. " People believe that, following the crucifixion and resurrection, Jesus returned to heaven on a white cloud, and sat down on His throne at the right hand of the Most High. - increase.
Likewise, people think that Jesus will descend again on a white cloud ( this cloud refers to the cloud that Jesus rode on when He returned to heaven ), to PEOPLE DESPERATELY LONGING for Him for a thousand years years, and that He would BRING the IMAGE and CLOTHES of the JEWS.
After appearing to the people, He will give them food, cause living water to spring up for them, and live with people, full of grace and love, alive and real. Etc. But JESUS the SAVIOR did NOT DO THIS; He DID THE OPPOSITE OF WHAT MAN THOUGHT. HE DID NOT COME TO THE PEOPLE LOOKING FOR HIS RETURN and DID NOT APPEAR TO ALL THE PEOPLE RIDING IN THE WHITE CLOUD.

Man is aimlessly waiting for Him, unaware that He has come down on a white cloud (the cloud which is His edpititu, His Words, and His entire position and everything He is), and now with a group of overcomers that He will make during the last days.
People don't know this: Although the HOLY SAVIOR JESUS is full of affection and love for people, how can He work in "temples" that are INHABITED by filth and unclean SPIRITS?
Although MAN AWAITS His COMING, how can He APPEAR to those who EAT the flesh of the unrighteous, DRINK the blood of the unrighteous, WEAR THE CLOTHES of the unrighteous, who BELIEVE in Him but DO NOT KNOW Him, and CONTINUOUSLY EXTORTING Him?
The only thing people know is that JESUS the SAVIOR is full of love and compassion, and the sin offering is full of REDEMPTION.
But MAN has NO IDEA that He is also GOD HIMSELF, ABOUNDING IN RIGHTEOUSNESS, MAJESTY, SEVERE WRATH, and JUDGMENT, and CLAIMING AUTHORITY and full of HONOR.
And so even though people fervently desire and yearn for the return of the Redeemer, and even Heaven is touched by people's prayers, Jesus the Savior did not APPEAR TO PEOPLE WHO BELIEVE IN HIM but DO NOT KNOW HIM.
"JEHOVAH" IS THE NAME I TOOK DURING MY WORK IN ISRAEL, AND IT MEANS THE GOD OF THE ISRAELITES (God's chosen People) WHO CAN HAVE MERCY ON MAN, CURSING MAN, AND GUIDES MAN'S LIFE. IT MEANS THAT GOD CLAIMS GREAT POWER AND IS FULL OF WISDOM.
" JESUS " is Emmanuel, and it MEANS THE SIN SACRIFICE THAT IS FULL OF LOVE, FULL OF COMPASSION, AND REDEEMING MAN. He did the work in the Age of Grace, and represented the Age of Grace, and can only represent a part of the Management Plan. Which means, only JEHOVAH is the God of the chosen People of Israel, the God of ABRAHAM, THE GOD OF ISAAC, THE GOD OF JACOB, THE GOD OF MOSES, AND THE GOD OF ALL THE PEOPLE OF ISRAEL. 🌺
And so at the present time, all Israelites except the Tribe of Judah worship Jehovah.
They offer Him sacrifices on the altar, and serve Him wearing the long robes of the temple priests.
Only JESUS IS the REDEEMER of mankind.
HE WAS THE SIN OFFERING THAT REDEEMED mankind from Sin.
WHICH MEANS, THE NAME OF JESUS COMES FROM THE AGE OF GRACE, AND EXISTS BECAUSE OF THE WORK OF REDEMPTION IN THE AGE OF GRACE.

I wanted to give up! Because the devil has sent so many people to destroy me
but my struggles have brought me closer to God. Even though I have fallen on hard times I will still praise JESUS. God gives me strength. I will only pursue the wisdom of GOD instead of the wisdom of this world. I’m a single mother. I lost my job as a social worker at Forsyth hospital over declining the vaccine, I declined due to my pre existing health conditions lupus and heart disease. Also the law still stands for hospitals that participate in Medicare and Medicaid have to be vaccinated against COVID-19. I’ve been struggling to provide ever since. I can’t seem to get back on my feet. I’m struggling financially, desperately trying to support my two autistic children and myself. I’m now waitressing, and I’m so thankful but I’m not making nearly enough to get by. Every month is a struggle not to end up on the streets with my two boys. But I keep faith in God, no MATTER WHAT. I know he will provide. He has this far. He is the God of Possible. Please keep me and my children in your prayers.

Dear Eleanor, I also thank Bishop Barron for his instructive sermons. I don't remember many of the people I knew speaking much of reading the Bible(I'm 85). Mass was in Latin, including the readings and Gospel Passage so we had the homily which one tried to listen as best as one could and I'm sure phrases would have stuck in the mind somehow. But we had the Catechism from beginning school and knowledge was given and developed each year the same as the other subjects. Always from young I remember the first parts, who is God and why did God made us and so one knew that this was very special We knew our prayers which were learned as we grew over the years and of course from our parents. Of course we knew the stories of Abraham's son, of Moses and Noah and then of course the Parables- NT which we had to memorize. There was also - and still is - the great feast days to be celebrated. I followed my families example in living as best I could but being human many times I fell by the way side. Since Vatican 2 the reading the Bible is well encouraged and this is good but Faith is also very important and so are good faithful leaders. The people of the Bible were always waiting for the coming of the Lord - so now the Lord has come.

I am not Catholic, but I love your messages. You touched on a subject that is very important to people like myself ( a widower) that being marriage in heaven. While I understand the proposed concept of no marriage ceremonies in heaven, people like myself do want to know we will be reunited with spouses that we loved here on earth and continue to love to this day. We want to know that love will not be minimized in the Afterlife. People in hospice care and close to death speak of seeing their loved ones, including spouses, in dreams and visions. I would love to see you tackle this subject more in depth. Tackle it without falling back on the, Jesus is the bridegroom and the church is the bride analogy. This question is strictly about what happens to our earthly relationships. Thanks.
I thought he explained that you will be reunited with your spouse. And that your relationship will be more intense and better than on earth because of both your relationships with God.
@Theresa Guzzo yes he said that, but I took it to mean all friendships, relationships, and people we knew. I felt as if he was being purposefully vague with respect to loving spousal relationships. Admittedly I can be a bit sensitive when it comes to this topic. I get weary of having the Bible story of the 7 brothers who marry the same woman thrown at me to prove we have no spousal relationship in heaven. In that story, the question had nothing to do with marriage. It was centered on the resurrection.
@Tom E, as the gospel points out, marital relationships will not be entered into, they will not be necessary, because all those worthy to enter into heaven are in the presence of Divine love and participate in that Divine love, which is so much greater than the marital love here on earth. Do not be troubled by the thought that you will not be resurrected to your wife, b/c you will be resurrected to your new life in Christ, as she has been resurrected as well and you both will participate in the all encompassing Love🙌🏻❤️ ( at least that’s how I interpret it😉) God Bless You🙌🏻!
@@dpro5500 thank you, but this is just the explanation that........let's just say, raises my BP. To say that any and all relationships on earth will be equal in heaven makes no logical sense. Jesus said in heaven there are many houses. Will each individual in heaven live by themselves? Of course not. It is likely you will live as a family unit. It is the love we cultivated on earth that binds us in heaven.
@@tome2294 You got it I reckon. The love you cultivated on earth with your spouse will be so much more awesome in heaven. It's unique and special and surely that won't be lessened in Gods heavenly kingdom, but enhanced.
How full of hope and truth is this homily. Both soul and body are redeemed. The adage « Saving souls » as a description for the work of the Church is enriched to « Saving the whole person », body and soul. Through Christ’s resurrection, I « at a higher pitch » will live loved into perfect existence with and in God. By far, this is a better deal than « You live, you work, you die, » I’ll take God’s offer over any other offers any day.

I see and understand you are very moved by this message from this priest. But would you be willing be willing to believe what the Bible says about going to heaven? Notice what Acts 29 says about David: "Men and brethren let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulcher is with us unto this day. So we see David died.But did David ascend up to heaven? Notice verse 34:For David is not ascended into the heavens ..." So here you see David died but he did not go to an heavenly realm David is dead and waiting a resurrection No one dies and go to heaven. But would you be willing to believe the Bible over what men say? Notice what Jesus said in John 3:13: "And no Man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven,even the Son of man....
Do you believe what Christ said? I know you are very emotional in believing what the priest said that I would be surprised if you believed in the scripture I just gave you.Moses,Elijah, are not Alive in heaven somewhere -they are dead waiting the resurrection.

Thank you Bishop Barron for anpther brief but illuminating explanation of what I thoughtto be a very dark gruesome passage of Maccabees. I read that passage at Mass Sat evening as lector . I was internally sighing thru the week as I practiced it at home. My thoughts were 'oh why do I get these awful dreary passages to proclaim??" What a difference your explanation makes. Bless you.
Thanks Bishop! The Church Jesus built is THE most charitable institution cuz He is there being served to us when we are there to gratefully give Him the honor and praise He is due! And, He said the poor would be with us always which is very reassuring because God Himself said it! And it is through His Church that He has reassured the poor such as Lazarus, who the rich man still was too arrogant to speak directly to in the parable Jesus told.
In the parable Jesus told the rich man was trying to boss Abraham around.
It's interesting, too, that Abraham was aware of the way Lazarus had been treated, and the rich man knew who Abraham was. So wherever a person ends up they will apparently be aware of some things.
