I am a Hindu from Calcutta, India, listening to Bishop Barron's videos since the last few days. I don't know the exact English words, but it is a great experience to listen to Bishop Barron. 🙏
The best word I know to describe God is ineffable. Creator, first cause. but not of the universe. Unknowable. Transcendent. Ultimate essence from which energy and matter come into existence.
You know what I really love about Bishop Barron’s sermons? He never says the obvious. All the churches and their pastors in my area are so simplistic it’s almost laughable. Almost everything they ever have to say amounts to some variation of “be nice” or “God loves you” or “don’t judge people” or “things will get better”. When I listen to Bishop Barron I always learn something.
I go to Mass because I am called as a part of God’s family. The Great Sacrifice that takes place during Mass is why we must go. A good sermon can enhance our experience of the scripture, yet The Eucharist is unmatched by any sermon. Consider reading “7 Secrets of the Eucharist” by Vinny Flynn. To God give all the glory❣️
@@factotum2883 I do as well. I also watch Fr. Mike Schmitz’s sermons. Bishop Barron gives a clear historical context for scripture and deepens my understanding. Fr. Mike Schmitz has a theme that ties his sermons together week to week. Jesus’ last words are the theme through Lent. Together they are so inspiring. Then Fr. Marcin continues to push me further into the love of God and His Grace❣️
Amen Bishop Baron, Greetings from the Australian Outback. I have been a listener/viewer since 2018 and your gospel Homily ring true. Thank you for your wisdom -Expat Yank in Forbes NSW
I pray Bishop Barron might be a future Pope. He exudes Faith and demonstrates wisdom to lead all believers. He also reveres John Paul II and Benedict, two of the greatest Popes. He knows the Faith. He uses the dynamite of the church. Like the burning bush, he is on fire 🔥with God's Word. Being assigned to Los Angeles is being underutilized. The Pope requires the courage and obedience to speak Truth no matter what...no matter what! There is no worldly leader more significant than the Catholic Pope. Nobody else has the keys to the Kingdom of Heaven, or ever will beyond Christ. Thus, the Pope should fear nothing of this world. He should be the ultimate warrior for Christ. And, after 50 years on this planet, the greatest candidate to become that ultimate warrior is Bishop Barron. 'Lord, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Please bless Bishop Barron and his mission. And, if possible, present him the keys to Your kingdom to set the world on fire! We need you more than ever, Lord.'
So glad you found Bishop Barron! 🙏🏻….my husband and I have been listening to him for years. We watch his amazing videos at our faith group every month.
@@oliverclark5604 "familyist family person' families" What? I don't think even YOU know what you're saying here. Please verse yourself in Catholicism and logic before trying to argue here.
In 1966 I studied Aquinas, then St Anselm, others. Loved Russell, Kant, others. This dear soul explains God, God understanding in an extraordinary and beautiful manner. ❤❤❤❤❤
Beautiful sermon, I've felt that the beauty of seeing God and his hand in everything leads to joy in recieving each day as a gift but also humility in remembering we are all dependant upon His love for our continued existence.
I am who am... I am pure existence. My being is not something that exists and can be brought from somewhere and lived. It is existence itself, the very life of everything. There is no other...there is only I I. I. I loved this wonderful sermon
I am told the actual translation is I am who am. That is I am the one thing that exists overtime for eternity. I am who am - I am the one that exists. I am who I am sounds like a retort but I am who am highlights that God is.
I can only imagine Moses - a runaway murderer, 40 years in the desert, stripped of all his pride and princely pompousness, fairly "empty" at this point. and now GOD - THE (one an only) GOD appears to him and engages him -- for purposes beyond his imagination or strength. May God help me to be as "empty" of myself as was Moses, so like Moses I can experience that life-changing encounter with the one, true, personal, sovereign GOD. And so for all of us...
The Latin was so good here. What a wonderful sermon. God who can’t be controlled/ contained or hidden from. What a blessing to be known by such a God. Thank you.
Thank you for this wonderful sermon, we are truly blessed to have you! God is with me daily helping me cope with daily pain, immobility, trauma and anxiety etc, He is always with me and indeed, has made my life more beautiful and radiant than I could ever imagine. Please Dear Lord bless everyone in Ukraine and everyone here, with love and peace from Wales, UK ✝️🙏🏻🕊🙏🏻✝️ xx
Your name would suggest you were raised Catholic... but I know that having a Catholic heritage doesn't always translate to being raised Catholic. Happy new year.
Increase the beauty and humility of everyone i encounter. Increase my humility, beauty and closeness to God. St. Joseph pray for us. St. Raphael pray for us. St. Paul pray for us. St. Carlo Acutis pray for us. St. Sandra Sabatini pray for us. May all the angels and saints in heaven pray for us.
I haven’t commented anywhere in years, but need to share that this homily is insightful not only for its content, but also for how succinct and accessible (to everyone) it is to anyone willing to respectfully (fully take another look) come closer to the 🔥 burning bush discalced in all humility. Today, that would look like going to a sacred place like a church or chapel or if necessary, the wilderness; being still, and having a conversation with God (prayer:) who is after all, closer than you are to yourself.
Listening to this sermon again after two years, I was struck by your eloquence and the absolute beauty of your homily. I feel the Lord God with me, about me, supporting me, and it is glorious and wonderful. Thank you, Sir, for all that you do to bring the beauty of God to His children. You will never know the immeasurable influence you have had in this world.
Amen! “Set the world on fire”, was the line I submitted to be placed under my yearbook photo 36 years ago. I have never realized why I randomly chose it until I have listened to this. "The two paths of sinners -- and we walk them all the time -- is we try to control God for our purposes, or we avoid him. Give up. They're both hopeless paths. Rather, surrender to the God who is closer to you than you are to yourself, and at the same time greater than anything you can imagine. And do you know what he wants to do? He wants to set you on fire and make you as radiant and beautiful as possible."
" I am WHO I am..." I love the way you said that. I now can say I truly understand I AM. Growing up Jewish and now being completed in my faith in Christ (Yeshua) your Homilys help me so very much. God Bless you.
"I, John, am the one who heard and saw these things. And when I heard and saw them, I fell down to worship at the feet of the angel who showed them to me; but he said to me, “You must not do that! I am a fellow servant with you and your brothers the prophets, and with those who keep the words of this book. Worship God!”" (Revelation 22: 8-9)

No wonder our Rector of the diocese states openly that he deeply admires you. You are certainly a holy man. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing such wisdom with all.
Whenever I listen to Bishop Barron's sermons I am never disappointed. He brings to life the bible and the dialogues between any man or woman and his Creator. The writers of the bible take for granted that the readers know what they are saying in that culture centuries ago. The bishop interprets and translates the words spoken to a meaning that relates to our lives today. I never weary listening to him and being educated academically and spiritually. AMDG
This is a confirmation of what i was just reflecting on the other day. God was telling moses, 'I am not limited to what i have created" I AM not i am this or that just I AM
So fascinating, so much fun, so exciting. God is everything and nothing all at the same time. Existence. Help me surrender my Lord. To your fire, to your laughter. Indeed ☺️
ikr??
The catholic church used Latin to suppress the laity. The same reason they outlawed the possession of a bible for many years.
