- We are in Anchorage, Alaska. We visited the Alaska Zoo. They have polar bears! I could have watched them for hours. It was so much fun.

Thanks for sharing the AK zoo with us. Little known fun fact: Alaska land (pioneer park) in Fairbanks had a small zoo back in the early 80's. When it was shut down, the animals were transported to the Anchorage zoo.

Awesome adventure. I was born and raised in San Diego. We went to the San Diego Zoo almost every Saturday unless my dad had duty or was deployed. I can watch animals all day. We have visited zoos across the country on vacation or where we were either my dad, husband, or son. We ♥️ all of the places you have bee, because you make it feel like we are there. Love you guys.❤
😁Loved the Ravens & they certainly put on a show for you both. Although not the most exotic they’re super intelligent problem solvers with a vast mimic of vocalising. It’s wonderful that zoos now are more focused on the animal’s habitat. I’m so glad that the animals needs come first in their environment & not ours for viewing. I believe those flowers were begonias and geraniums. They do grow in the lower 48... smiles

Lots of people think the animals kept in zoo's are being treated cruelly. That is far from the truth. Many zoo animals are there because they have been injured or ill. The zoo's are taking care of them. They may be unable to be released and instead of them being harmed or worse the zoo will rehabilitate them. The zoo keepers love their animals and are always looking to better them. Plus many animals in the zoo are endangered and are there for breeding and keeping the species alive. Totally agree!!! I used to work at Zoo in NOLA. I worked near Tigers. When we got white Tigers as babies, I helped feed them. They were adorable and playful. They were named REX & ZULU after Mardi gras Kings. They have Passed away ❤.

Begonias are in the lower 48. They are annuals in most states but in warmer states they can withstand the cooler evenings as long as its doesn't get below freezing.

I always love going to the zoo . Oklahoma City Zoo had a polar bear but they didn't provide it with a cool place . I always felt sorry for it all it had was a stream of water to try and keep cool . He needed to have a pool but they never gave him one . Prayers 🙏 and Love 🤟from Oklahoma

The animal swimming was definitely a seal. Love watching them. The flowers are bougengia (sp) and geraniums very pretty.

Haven't been to a zoo in a long time. In elementary school we went to the San Francisco Zoo. It was awesome. Don't even know if they still have it. The Monterey Aquarian is totally awesome. Anymore all the attractions are super expensive. 😢😢😢

The otters are my favorite.. To watch them play, swim, and enter act with the people. I enjoyed watching them thru the under water window.

Left the pictures at the end. I was surprised by the wolverine. I did not think they were that big. And the white tailed on at the end was so so cute. Have fun. Can’t wait to see more.

Alaska zoo I thought you was back in ODDER CREEK are there moles or toytles ha ha. When you looked at the flowers you could hear the beavers in the background fixing their dam with Stihl chainsaws.

I live within an hour of one of the best zoos in the country and possibly in the world. Omaha. NE has the Henry Doorly zoo. It has out ranked the San Diego zoo. If you ever get the chance, it's quite the sight.

Looks like this zoo needs some attention. Some of the habitats for the animals were lacking.

I dont go to zoo's, as the animals should be let free I give more time to animal sanctuary
It is more of a sanctuary, actually. Most of the animals are being nursed back to health.
