    Thanks Helen! I love seeing your outfit suggestions and examples of statement pieces! I have been very drawn to Sezane lately (you may have played a part in this - haha) and since I have had a pretty minimalist aesthetic, Sezane is a bit of a statement. I am finding that my closet is much more interesting and easier to style.

      Thank you for watching Tanya!! Actually, that is why I like Sezane too - they're so good at doing elevated basics which makes styling outfits that little bit easier :) They're a little statement but not too much which is the ideal balance for me as well :) x

    This was so enjoyable and versatile! Loved it!
    Also loved thr "recap" after each piece, it ties all the ideas together and make us see everything you just mentioned (that we sometimes just watch unconsciously).
    Ps. Also a Mexican subscriber, watching from Germany 😊

    This was so fun. Alot of my fall clothes are quite statement IMO.
    Statement looks different for alot of people. Since normally I live in black, anything that isn't black is a statement for me, that includes plaids, stripes , color, hell--grey is a statement thing for me and my aesthetic!
    Just remember to hold your head up high and wear that piece , the world won't end because you do, and you might find that you love a certain silhouette or color or pattern on you that you wouldn't have known otherwise!
    Also if you're considering a certain trend or statement piece try thrifting a version of it instead of buying something pricey, give it a test drive, and if you like it then splurge and by yourself something.
    Loving the content as always. We may have very different styles , but that doesn't stop me from learning something new each time I watch you! I appreciate that.

    Yay! Thanks to your videos I’m always looking forward to Mondays now instead of getting Sunday work blues :)
    Glad you clarified statement pieces vs trends as I’ve caught myself buying trendy statement pieces in the past which I can’t keep as a classic - I’d been on the verge of curbing any statement buys 🥺

    • @DailyHelenJ
      @DailyHelenJ  3 роки тому +3

      Thank you :) Happy to share in some future videos but actually I don't do anything too fancy. I think the fabric of the top is key e.g. crisp or structured fabrics will always have some more creases than a silk/viscose/cupro with more drape xx

  • @floralaura2543
    @floralaura2543 2 роки тому +1

    Helen, I have to tell you how stunning the outfit looks at 10:43! I think the wider top combined with the gradual slimming down the legs is a silhouette I haven’t seen you wear much before but is AMAZING! very balanced looking for your proportions i think. And I love that the outfit almost looks kind of edgy on you.
    Another observation watching this video after following your channel for 1-2 years is how all black just doesn’t really suit you anymore. Your characteristic pop of color is almost expected at this point and it doesn’t seem like “you” without it these days! Which I think is a fabulous thing. I am heading away from buying black for a while especially for warmer weather.

  • @FreshGrey-pm4vw
    @FreshGrey-pm4vw 2 роки тому

    I love the styling you have mastered. I want to just say that proportion of the body is an enormous variable. Although I have found a way to style high rise pants, I cannot copy a lot of the style here because of 2 major body differences: 1) I am large chested 2) I am only 5'2" and cannot get away with tucking in as it swallows my waistline. I love your classic simplicity tho and enjoy your channel. For me, a different pant style works better so I can balance the top of the my frame with the bottom much better so I wear AG Jeans flare or skinny jeans with boots. Still comfy and I like the blazers as well.

    Great video. I love the hack about tucking the trousers in sock boot 👢 I will definitely try it. I struggle with oversized clothes because I am 5’2”. Funny thing, I ordered and returned the same black and white striped shirt because it overpowered my frame. But I will try couple of ways you mentioned next time. Thank you xx

    Hey! I'm thinking about purchasing the blue cropped blazer from Tibi. Is yours an xxs? I'm indecisive between getting the xs and xss (this is a final sale item, so I want to err on the side of caution when buying) and my measurements are very similar to yours so I was just wondering how you like the fit of the xxs on you?

    • @DailyHelenJ
      @DailyHelenJ  3 роки тому

      Hi :) the XXS fits me perfect imo. It still has an oversized feel - the piece is VERY oversized so the shoulders and arms are still very loose. It depends how oversized you want it but if you’re around my size, the XXS will still give an oversized feel x

    • @DailyHelenJ
      @DailyHelenJ  3 роки тому +4

      I think this is true - horizontal stripes make the body look wider and vertical stripes make the body look longer. But from an aesthetic pov, I usually prefer horizontal to vertical so I think it depends all on preference :) Thank you so much for watching x

    How come your knot doesn't come undone when u wear that oversized shirt knotted over that maxi dress?? From what I saw in the video u knotted the shirt reallyyy loose, so does it not come undone within seconds of doing absolutely anything?!

    • @DailyHelenJ
      @DailyHelenJ  3 роки тому

      I think it depends on fabrics + how much excess material there is. Some fabrics don't come undone as easy as others. That being said, a safety pin is my best friend if I don't want to fuss with something throughout the day. A quick safety pin on the other side ensures it stays in place all day :)

    • @swatigautam1686

If people try and do that loose knot it can get really frustrating if the knot keeps coming undone after every second. Mentioning these tiny details in the video makes sense in my opinion.
