  • I was a big fan of NYPD Blue. I think the whole world was so to have Sharon Lawrence sitting in the State of Mind chair was an honor. She was highly intelligent and we talked about everything under the sun. I know you’re gonna enjoy it.

Love, love, love Sharon Lawrence. She is such a huge talent, so gifted. Have been a fan of hers since NYPD Blue and her romance Sipowitz. No matter what she does, it is a blessed event. Live long and prosper Sharon.

Thank you Maurice and Sharon for this enlightening discussion on the south, integration, and especially the advances in psychiatry in treating bipolar disorders, PTSD, anxiety, depression, and other issues. Sharon is so well spoken and as a psychologist, everything she said is 100% accurate. Maurice, you are truly giving a gift to everyone with your honesty and vulnerability. ❤

I am a firm believer in psychiatry. I know I inherited my anxiety and depression from my mom and have been with my psychiatrist for 4 years. Like Mo, my anxiety just about got me but I was fortunate enough to find the right person to help me and does so to this day.
Thank you both for a great discussion

Sharon. Thank you for your willingness to be on SOM. What you had to share needed to be heard. I do hope your husband will agree to an interview with Maurice. I can only imagine the wealth of information he can share with us. I'm bipolar with seizures and a family hx of mental illness. I also suffer with cerebral palsy that is worsening. That would tap into my orthopedic needs. And oh yeah it is thought I had a stroke in utero. Bottom line. ... Thank you for being open, honest and vulnerable. Blessings, Kim H.

God bless you Maurice for brining Sharon Lawrence aboard ❤ The natives and blacks have suffered enough and it is long overdue to talk also about mental health. I went to the cemetery to visit my mom and dad today and my father knew a lot about the History of other countries. The way Sharon explains History is more interesting and true because I have to say I really struggled in school. I’m a suicide survivor but I want people to realize that there is light at the end of the tunnel. 🇨🇦🇮🇹🙏

So true. My mom was originally diagnosed with manic depression. I had no idea as a kid or young adult what actually she suffered from. It took me until I started school in 2011 at 45 to understand fully all that is involved with mental illness.

Thank you, Maurice B, for having this blog, i just happened on it and decided to watch because you are one of my favorite actors on GH. You are so good at what you do, i never knew you were in any crisis. I'm totally elated that you are still here and helping others, i'm sure this is God-sent to rescue many lives. Sharon, thank you also, for the rich, deep knowledge you have displayed on this session. I also love your work in NYPD Blue and the other series you were in, i forgot the name at this moment. Both of you keep on doing great work and take care of yourselves. Be Blessed 🙏🏽🙌🏾❤️

It would be very interesting if your husband would come on State of Mind too! To hear from another Doctor would be a treat. I have five desperate hours 1997 ready to load. Thank you for explaining the things that went on in the 60’s.. my mother attempted suicide 3 times when i was a child and i believe she received electro shock therapy back then as well. The family just kept telling us that my Mom was in the hospital but not why. Unfortunately she passes from ALS, the most horrible disease, and that sent me into a depression. From the grief counseling i was lead to get the help i needed from anxiety and depression as i was having suicidal thoughts. I never want to not take my meds as i am afraid i would get those thoughts again thank you Maurice & Ms Sharon …

Again, it has to start from an understanding that we are all here due to other people's decisions, especially into a socio-economic system we never agreed to beforehand. Also, we all need to learn about the rugged individualism that MLK warned about and fighting against it.
Also, why are people having babies? Is it to have a baby or to actually raise a fully functioning adult who has the critical thinking skills to comprehend how to empathize with others who have had different lived experiences.
We need universal healthcare (including mental health) free at the point-of-service and taking the profit motive out of healthcare so that unions can free up what they have to negotiate for when it comes to wages and safety. Contrary to what people have been taught, we can fund these things because we have our own money, and the value of money is truly arbitrary. It's just a question of what is truly most important - profits for the elitist predatory class or the allowance of everyone thriving for as long as possible since they are already on this planet?
