Either NB is underrated, or people just don’t know. Just grabbed a pair of the OG Protection pack CW off Goat myself, but need some new 990’s too.
990’s have been hella popular in the DC, Bmore areas so I expect to see these everywhere soon. I wasn’t feeling the v6’s at first but they’re growing on me

990v3 and v5 are heavy in my rotation due to their comfort and sharp looks. I’m not feeling the chunky midsole yet, but I can see these growing on me eventually.
They not as chunky in person definitely bigger but not too crazy to where it’s a whole different shoe
I feel the same way I wear my v5s constantly and me and my gf were both looking at the v6 in store and it's just not it plus they're $200 now I think they look like they're orthopedic shoes the whole back 1/4 of the shoe just doesn't look right

Great review! I just picked up my 990v6s yesterday and they didn't leave my feet til I went to bed! I've been a Nike and Adidas guy for most of my life. Yeah, I had a couple of pairs of NBs, but wasn't that crazy about them, largely because I didn't ensure that I had the right fit. Not this time! I went to my local NB store and got them to fit me. In a word, WOW!!! Thanks again for the great review.

I'm a native Washingtonian, and in DC, New Balances have been a staple in my city my entire life. I'm 37, by the way. I love how across the country these days, everybody is getting hip to New Balance. On behalf of ALL of us who grew up with an affinity for these shoes, who ya'll crowned for wearing "old man shoes," we would like to say, "YA'LL LATE! But welcome to the party!" 😂 Now give us our props for having exquisite taste in both style and comfort! I'm still tryna get used to seeing ya'll out of towners wearing our classic, traditional kicks..

Fun fact: when I was a kid I thought N stood for Nike and I liked them better. These were the days when pops would take me to the rack in like Kmart and say find your size. So I had no point of reference, had never walked up to a wall and asked someone if they had my size or even saw a sneaker box b.

Yeah 992s and 993s we used to wear in the DMV. Those are 574s but it's been 990s for about the past 6 years. But if you're from the DC area then you know lol

Spotted a pair of these in the new NB store in the Trafford Centre here in Manchester, England. Bought a pair on sight, went for the grey, cream, light-brown combo over the all-grey colourway. What a shoe! I like the nod to the chunky trend without getting ridiculous with it. Normally a Diadora Camaro man, so £225 for trainers felt like a stretch, but just a Rolls-Royce ride from the get-go. It's taken me to reach age 49 to look at this model - the Steve Jobs-on-a-stage / dad shoe vibe kept me away, so I guess I had to wait until my own vibe went that way, too! Luckily for me, by the time I got to the party, we've reached a zenith with this v6. btw my only previous NBs have been 373s (not even sure they sell these in the States?)...nice shoes but they are mere shapeless plimsoles compared with the support and structure of the 990.
992/991/2002r/9060 are 🔥. I’ve added like 15 pairs of NB past few months.
$200 plus tax price tag though is not my cup of tea. I don’t feel like any shoe, even jordans should be more than $150
I got the lapis Luzi pair from the action Bronson collab. Very comfortable. Might invest in the grey pair
They finally released in The Netherlands. Copped them straight away!! New balance is for me the brand and they bringing always pure heat.
When I moved to DC 11 years ago everybody was rocking NB (I was before then 574’s a lot) and I just joined the army and they definitely stay in heavy rotation…CLASSIC SHIE AND CLASSIC MIVIE INDEED

990’s are comfortable from day 1 and stay comfortable forever, they never bottom out , best daily sneaker period !
I like the previous 990s. These are kind of growing on me. But the chunkier mid sole this time around is throwing me off. So far, this is my least favorite looking out of 990s.
Nike is the girl you take home from the club for one night, NB is the girl you'll meet at daylight, not drunken, fall in love, merry and fould a family.
990 v3/4 will always be top tier.

I bought a pair of 990 about 8 years ago at a department store. Loved ‘em, and ordered them online next time, surprised that they were still available. (I had no idea they were an ongoing thing.)
Now I am on v6 and still loving them.

The 990v5 were my first ever nb's. Amazing shoe, wore them more then ultraboost. I put so many miles in them. I'm waiting for a black colorway then I'll get 2 lol

I love them. And your videos are always on point. 💯💯 been going in on new balance within the last year. Own a shit load of 990 v3s. Those are my favorite silhouette. But yeah. Nb is definitely a great sneaker company. The 2002r and the 9060 are great feeling kicks as well. I ordered a pair of the v6, but they came in with a smudge on the front toe box. Had to send them back. But sheesh. They are comfy. So I have another pair on the way. Love them kicks. Most comfy of the 990s so far in my opinion

v5 is a far better shoe than v6.
Bought the v6. Sent it back the same day. Worst fitting shoe I've ever worn. Totally different fit from the v5 (which I love). v6 is longer and much more narrow. Especially in the toe box. I normally wear a Wide. It was too tight, so I ordered and Extra Wide. NOT extra wide at all. My toes were still cramped. Extra Wide fit more narrow than a Wide in my v5. Also, there is very little padding inside the v6. Much more padding in the v5. The back area behind the ankle bone in the v6 is stiff and hard. And the tongue is flimsy, again no padding, just cheap, rough and scratchy mesh. Very uncomfortable. I don't get what people are loving about the v6. Wish they would keep making the v5. Meantime, I'm sticking with my 993 (best shoes NB makes) and my 990v5 as backups.

New balance are the most comfortable shoes made I owned many pairs of the famous 993s and after seeing these they look more up to date the N on the show looks way bigger than the OG 993s in definitely copping a pair asap!

I see a lot of people saying New balance kicks are just a trend right now! That is completely FALSE NB have been famous for YEARS essentially in the DMV area. New Balance has been killing the sneaker game for the past three years now.

Before I watch based off the sole Looks like the NB 990 v6. 1300's 990 v4, v5, 2000, & 2001 look better however the cushioning may be better than those I like better.

I used to be a nike guy.. back when i think the only competitor at the same level is only adidas. Never even consider NB at the same tier..
But now.. man.. im all over NBs..
The quality, the comfort, the plush feeling, etc etc makes me fall in love with them..
