I lost over 150 lbs while wearing a pair of v5's every day on walks. Still have that pair of Navy v5's that are worn down all the way thru the outsole. I'm currently destroying a pair of 2002R's while maintaining my fitness journey, walking, cycling and going to the gym 5 days a week. Definitely want to try this shoe but the 993 looks cleaner, the chunky midsole on the v6 kinda spooks me.

Every time I see these they look better and better. When I first saw them, I didn't necessarily like them. But now, they make the older 990 models look almost ancient. Teddy is a genius. This shoe is also an amazing platform for interesting color blocking, far more than the v5
For me these are the New Balances that I would only consider if I had every other New Balance that I wanted. I like them but they are probably the last on the list.
I tried my first pair of 990v5 after watching your videos and they have literally changed my life. I have Achilles tendinitis due to really flat feet. It would start hurting really bad at the end of a work week.. upon switching I have yet to have that pain come back!! definitely buying these!
I bought these on a recommendation from my podiatrist after injuring my ankle. Not only are they the best I've worn in terms of support and comfort for the ankle, they are surprisingly cute on. I'm not a sneaker head, but I own a fair number of designer sneakers and will find it difficult to go back. Fantastic quality for the price - I'm not surprised this shoe has so many fans!
For any late watchers. Dont go true to your size on 990v3s or 2002s...they are a deffo half size up. Im an 11 in those and bought an 11 in the v6. The toe box is tighter and the NB patch between the bottom lace is quite rigid meaning there is less room across the top of your toes and you are squished in. Its a shame as they are actually longer than the 999v3s etc, and its their design that is amazing. Definitely need to try them on with the thickest pair of socks you own that you wear all the time. Then you will be the judge
While they are using their top tier foam (FuelCell), the stack height is similar to past 990s. Suede, leather and padded material add a tremendous amount of weight. This is not to say you can't run in them, but it's a poor option if your sole purpose is strictly performance compared to modern running shoes. Instead, this is a fantastic everyday shoe and looks fantastic.
Great review. I've been wearing new balance sneakers for over 32 years now. The 900 series has been my go to shoe since the 90's. I've learned switching out the cheap insole for a more cushioned and/or a supportive one, and the thickness of the socks you wear, makes a hell of difference in how any sneaker fits. @@kor_cinnamon The 993's, any version of them by far. They have a roomier/wider platform and are more comfortable for my feet. I always buy New Balance insoles to replace the paper thin ones they come with. They used to be made for New Balance by a company named "10 seconds." (Look this brand up, you wont regret it!) They gave this company license to put their New Balance logo on their already existing insoles at one time. I recently learned New Balance no longer partners with 10 seconds anymore, so I just buy the 10 seconds branded insoles. They are the exact same ones just a different color. They're super comfortable. If you search for the 10 seconds brand you'll see they have multiple different ones from just cushion to motion control and everything in-between. I hope this helps in your decision making process. 💯✌🏼

What I mean by that is, foot shape, the last (platform) of the New Balance shoe (or any running shoe for that matter) is built on, your weight, any issues with your feet, insole preference, (minimum thickness to maximum support and anything in-between) what the sock feels like as you walk or run. Take your time if you're buying it in store. Which in my opinion is preferable. The best ones take their time to get you fitted correctly before you leave. That's why I love New Balance Company Stores. The are the best. Places like Road Runner Sports (just outside of Philadelphia here on the east coast) and The Philadelphia Runner here in Philly is customer focused as well. Any shop where their only focus is on running shoes and apparel, you can't lose. 💯✌🏼
So glad I tried these on in-store I'm a true size 10 in nike and jordans. I ended up with a 9.5 wide in the 990v6. I never would have thought I had a wide foot but the rep helping me could tell before I even put my foot in the shoe. If buying online i would have just went a half size down so glad i went in to try em on. To summarize: these run long and narrow.
can you tell the difference between a standard and a wide shoe? Does it look too wide? I'm wondering if that would be my case, I don't think I have a wide foot but some shoes feel a little tight for me even in my true size, so I'm wondering... haha
If you are a fan of awesome materials and great quality and don't care much for "hype" then this shoe is for you. Can't wait to try the new iteration of the legendary 990 line
Disappointed about the price increase but then again the 990v5 is the longest set of shoes I’ve ever owned and have hundreds of miles on them. They got 3-4 miles a day minimum (often 10+) for 4 years. I went through a few insoles but the shoes are solid. Physically they still are they just squeak now and that’s where I draw the line.
We’re coming over to Disney from the UK for 2 weeks, so you’ve just convinced me to buy a pair of the v6. It was between the v5 and the v6, hope I’ve made the right decision in looks and comfort.🤞
Finally got a pair. They're super comfortable and it's really a jack of all trades shoe. I've been wearing Ultraboosts for casual walking for the past 3 years and they've always felt a little too light and unstable. The 990v6 has similar comfort but feels much more balanced and solid. They do fit a bit narrow and there's a small gap at the tip but if I sized down it would feel way too narrow. I rather be a little long than have pain from being squeezed. I went TTS. And these look even better in the sun!
Can't go wrong with grey, but I'm really interested in seeing the other two colorways that are teased at the end of the Teddy Santis Season 2 lineup before I cop a pair
I just received my pair and the sizing is the worst of any 990 I’ve ever purchased. I wear a 9 1/2 in every 990 model and never had a problem, this version was very narrow in the toolbox and long. I tried a 9 1/2 in a wide and my foot was swimming in it. I then proceeded to try 9 and the length is too short with my toe hitting right up against the top of the shoe. It’s a shame because these are one of the most comfortable 990s I’ve ever tried on and I can’t figure out any size that would fit me. I think I will try one more time and go to the store and try my usual 9 1/2 and take out the insole and replace it with a Thinner One and see how that works, otherwise I give up on this model
I have similar problems. But in Europe we have only standard version. I have all 990 models v1-v5 standard my normal size us8. Sow I buy in v6 same size us8 and it’s really big more long maybe 2-3mm different! and half size down for my little bit wide 🦶 it’s not comfortable …. Dow I prefer my normal us8 size with any space inside
I gave up on the V6 too. I could cry, I relied on the 990 series for my painful feet. The V6 causes my foot to excessively roll outward and put too much pressure on the outside of my foot. My feet hurt horribly in the V6 and it affects my hips and lower back. I spent a lot of money to just be in pain. Im mad at New Balance, they ruined the shoe. I don’t know what I am going to do for a shoe now.
I just got the Action Bronson 990v6 and I’m hooked I wore them everyday last week, first time in a long time I actually wore the same shoe all week, I put on my Jordan 4s after that. Walked around for like 5min, and said no way took them right off. Threw the NBs on. It’s insane how uncomfortable Jordan’s are.
I have found the v6 to be more narrow in the midfoot I measured vs v5 new in my box yes has extra pair of laces The v5 I'd better quarter of an inch wider in the mid foot. I tried v6 in wide it fits but v5 feels more comfy

#MikeRobbins: I felt the same about the v6. Sizing is narrow and long, nothing like the v5. The v6 was at least 1/2 size too long and a full size too narrow in toebox. I sent the v6 back to NB the day I received the shipment. v5 is a much better shoe all around -- sizing, fit and the high quality materials used.

Just purchased a pair of V6"s from the New Balance site and they did say to try a 1/2 size down and got a perfect fit. I have a wide foot and the X-Wide is perfect. Still have my V5's that have held up well. Good Review.
It’s a given fact that most Americans wear shoes that are too small for them. I’ve never once complained about a shoe that was slightly larger than my “true size.” I measure a 10.5, which is what most (but not all) of my dress shoes are. In running shoes I typically always go at least a full size larger, sometimes half a size. The 990v6’s I got in size 11 2E. I agree they are a bit long, but we are talking about 1/8 of an inch between the 10.5 and the 11. My advice is to always go with the larger size if your fall in between sizes. Price increase sucks but MIUSA and MIUK models always feel worth the money. Sucks that my feet don’t respond well to so much cushioning and such a high heel/toe drop anymore
I love the 990v5. I wanna get me the v6 but I’ll wait till I see more colors. (Not because I don’t like the classic grey color way, I just want some more variety cause I already own the grey v5 and an all black v5)
Man fuel cell is soft but fresh foam x is so bouncy. Especially on the trail more v2. You gotta try it. I had to learn how to walk in them without running lol it’s a shoe begging to be unleashed. It’s wild

I was hesitant on getting the 990v6s but when they came in shipment from my job I just ended up pulling the plug on em. I love them joints lol, but you said yours didn’t come with extra set of laces, but mines came with an extra set of grey laces. That’s weird. But love the vid bro. Keep going.
Toe box is great I always go a half size down because I don’t like my sneakers looking like flippers (fyi NB sneakers can run big). Okay so comfort level is good but the material towards back of shoe feels like it’s gonna let my heel slip right out the back collar of shoe. New balance usually makes a taller collar to keep your foot snug and secure in back as you walk in the shoe. I wear lots of 990v2, 990v3 and I also own the v5. I think the design uses a long thin upper tongue to form against the top of your foot to help keep secure. With a lifestyle runner I feel like you need a shoe with a deeper fit in collar. Suede is lighter tone grey compared to previous models even though they use castle rock traditional color way. Quality of suede is is fine and thin, usually I would say suede is a bit more thick and premium. The eyelets and eyestay (holes for laces) are a bit thin to. The roll of the shoe when walking is organic and you can feel a standard thick midsole. I don’t think anyone’s feet would be hurting, overall good model but try previous versions against the v6.
I legit stopped wearing my Jordan’s (29 pairs) I own 3 Yeezy slides and I started messing with new balance heavy. I own 2 pairs of 2002r’s and a pair of 990v6 I stay wearing them
After losing out on this mornings Baklava's (no shock personally) I really do need to just grab a V6 period. I'm personally becoming a slight NB fan also after finding a pair of 992 Greys and 2002r OG Dark Grey at the Platos near me last month. My God, they are comfortable! So..I admit, I haven't tried V3s...V4s, 5 or 6 yet. But I do expect these to be just as-or perhaps even more comfortable. And you are correct, the quality of these are very impressive!
Nobody has done a video comparing these to the hyped 993 but they are the exact same price so it’s a tough choice. I ended up going with these and eager for them to arrive.
You should start doing a series of reviews called "Back in time", and review older more forgotten sneakers! For example, the Air Jordan 1 Retro High Melo.
when you compare these to the 990 v5's it's like night and day how different they are, they look much more like the 990 v3 which are my favorite, so I think these will be my new favorite

The V6 does not fit like the V3/4/5. It is longer, and narrower, in the toe box. Very noticeable. Try on if you can, but, personally, I had to go down a 1/2 size and wide. 2cents. Cheers
@@heydeonhereno problem glad they fit well, I have like 8 or so pairs Ive always been a solid 10.5 in I'd say 95% of shoes and all my NBs I go down to a 10 some pairs have been a tad tight at first but they break in just fine especially the mesh pairs with the 990s etc if they're a little tight at first they'll always stretch I feel like if you go TTS they might fit good at first but will end up feeling huge

I bought both of the 990v6 and the SAS Journey Mesh…. Although I really like the look of the 990, the SAS shoes really feel like they are better quality although they are more expensive.
These run big! I honestly should have went a full size down but I went down a half size. Very comfortable shoe though. 10/10 comfort, 6/10 aesthetics. V3 looks better honestly

I have those blue socks, love em ! Highly recommended. The Heather mid socks are also fire ! I'm considering getting these as I love my v5s and I'm a 48 year old so dad shoes are right up my street. I do however love the Action Bronson v6's - I hope they get a recent release, resell isn't crazy and that it's not just an extremely limited friends and family style pop up. I love my colorful NB's as my interest for NB started around the time of the max hectic x Stüssy 580 collabs, which Stray Rats have recently released a very similar color way to those. However, you can never go wrong with a clean grey NB.

My v5 still holding up well, till then I’m not getting the v6. The v6 looks more gym-esque, less lifestyle look imo
Triple black is versatile for my dad lifestyle - work , shopping, walking the kids, dropping them off and picking them up from school.
A pretty good update, appears more modern compared to the last model. I dig em for sure.
Still prefer the aesthetics of the 990v5 more but that's up to preference. Might lean towards the 990v6 since it's more comfortable

Crazy to say but three generations of my family are wearing this shoe right now: my mom, my wife (she has two grey and a cream one) and I, and my son.
The quality of NB is ridiculous. Very comfortable too. Love my Js and Nike but the quality is hit or miss.
I need a direct comparison between these and the 993🔥 one of those will be my first NB
Price increase sucks but MIUSA and MIUK models always feel worth the money. Sucks that my feet don’t respond well to so much cushioning and such a high heel/toe drop anymore
I love the 990v5. I wanna get me the v6 but I’ll wait till I see more colors. (Not because I don’t like the classic grey color way, I just want some more variety cause I already own the grey v5 and an all black v5)

Man fuel cell is soft but fresh foam x is so bouncy. Especially on the trail more v2. You gotta try it. I had to learn how to walk in them without running lol it’s a shoe begging to be unleashed. It’s wild

Same my rain cloud 2002r are pretty much the perfect grey NB shoe, I might cop different colorways for the V6

I was hesitant on getting the 990v6s but when they came in shipment from my job I just ended up pulling the plug on em. I love them joints lol, but you said yours didn’t come with extra set of laces, but mines came with an extra set of grey laces. That’s weird. But love the vid bro. Keep going.
Toe box is great I always go a half size down because I don’t like my sneakers looking like flippers (fyi NB sneakers can run big). Okay so comfort level is good but the material towards back of shoe feels like it’s gonna let my heel slip right out the back collar of shoe. New balance usually makes a taller collar to keep your foot snug and secure in back as you walk in the shoe. I wear lots of 990v2, 990v3 and I also own the v5. I think the design uses a long thin upper tongue to form against the top of your foot to help keep secure.
With a lifestyle runner I feel like you need a shoe with a deeper fit in collar. Suede is lighter tone grey compared to previous models even though they use castle rock traditional color way. Quality of suede is is fine and thin, usually I would say suede is a bit more thick and premium. The eyelets and eyestay (holes for laces) are a bit thin to. The roll of the shoe when walking is organic and you can feel a standard thick midsole. I don’t think anyone’s feet would be hurting, overall good model but try previous versions against the v6.

After losing out on this mornings Baklava's (no shock personally) I really do need to just grab a V6 period. I'm personally becoming a slight NB fan also after finding a pair of 992 Greys and 2002r OG Dark Grey at the Platos near me last month. My God, they are comfortable! So..I admit, I haven't tried V3s...V4s, 5 or 6 yet. But I do expect these to be just as-or perhaps even more comfortable. And you are correct, the quality of these are very impressive!
Nobody has done a video comparing these to the hyped 993 but they are the exact same price so it’s a tough choice. I ended up going with these and eager for them to arrive.

What I can gather from this review is, for a snug fit go down half a size or for a slightly roomy fit go tts. Nice one Seth 👍🏻
when you compare these to the 990 v5's it's like night and day how different they are, they look much more like the 990 v3 which are my favorite, so I think these will be my new favorite

I have wide feet and usually wear 11 or 11 2E, but with the 990 v6 i had to go a whole size down to 10 4E. fits perfect

The V6 does not fit like the V3/4/5. It is longer, and narrower, in the toe box. Very noticeable. Try on if you can, but, personally, I had to go down a 1/2 size and wide. 2cents. Cheers
Exactly my experience. Too long and too narrow in toe box. I returned them. v5 is a much better shoe.
DO NOT go TTS unless you have fat feet or wide feet a TTS will be HUGE

@@heydeonhereno problem glad they fit well, I have like 8 or so pairs Ive always been a solid 10.5 in I'd say 95% of shoes and all my NBs I go down to a 10 some pairs have been a tad tight at first but they break in just fine especially the mesh pairs with the 990s etc if they're a little tight at first they'll always stretch I feel like if you go TTS they might fit good at first but will end up feeling huge
@@Rob.28 that is true, I love their designs and I am slowly moving away from shoes with pure leather and plastic-ish materials, so NB and its mesh was a fresh air for me. NB indeed was made to accommodate wide and big foot peeps. Glad to have read your comment.
I bought these 990v6 today and they make my feet look huge compared to other New Balance. I'm not sure if I will be keeping them.

I wear an 11.5 in all sneakers. Even size up to 12 in some. I had to grab an 11 in these. They definitely run longer than usual.

These actually came with grey laces as well, not sure why you didn't get a pair with them.
£30 price increase in UK. That's a lot. £180 the V5 was. This one is gonna be £210. Although to be fair most of the mountain of V3's dropping have been the same price..
I bought both of the 990v6 and the SAS Journey Mesh…. Although I really like the look of the 990, the SAS shoes really feel like they are better quality although they are more expensive.
I was on the fence when I saw early images. This is one of the rare times when the actual shoe is better than early images.
These run big! I honestly should have went a full size down but I went down a half size. Very comfortable shoe though. 10/10 comfort, 6/10 aesthetics. V3 looks better honestly

I have those blue socks, love em ! Highly recommended. The Heather mid socks are also fire ! I'm considering getting these as I love my v5s and I'm a 48 year old so dad shoes are right up my street. I do however love the Action Bronson v6's - I hope they get a recent release, resell isn't crazy and that it's not just an extremely limited friends and family style pop up. I love my colorful NB's as my interest for NB started around the time of the max hectic x Stüssy 580 collabs, which Stray Rats have recently released a very similar color way to those. However, you can never go wrong with a clean grey NB.
