Nadine Sierra’s is one of this generation’s finest young sopranos and seems to light up the stage whenever she is singing. Sierra’s coloratura is effortless and her voice has a lovely fluidity.
In some respects, Nadine Sierra “journey” is the triumph of a deep monogamous love over wandering carnality. Vocally, Nadine delivered a blend of impeccable technique with emotion and feeling. Her trills were a delight, her top notes smooth and easy, and her legato milky. She easily soared over the orchestra, even at the busiest moments, and there was a vocal confidence there palpable in her delivery.
I go to every opera that Nadine Sierra performs in New York City. I love her voice so much. The Metropolitan opera loves her. New York City is a tough audience, but we all love Nadine Sierra who has impeccable technique, beautiful tone and voice placement. Her acting is superb. Bel Canto at its finest. I’ve been going to the opera for many many decades, I’m so lucky to have seen such great legendary singers. We are now looking at one of the finest sopranos in the world. I love almost everything there is to love in and about her voice. She has such a sweet lyric coloratura, she knows a good pianissimo and a powerful fortissimo and when to use them. I can't find any fault with her interpolations and ornamentation. There *is* one thing about this performance, however, that itches me to no end, and that is the dreadfully abysmal tempo. I can see why it enhances the detail of her faultless and creamy legato execution ... but oh how it drags and drags, becoming tedious, without a more traditionally energetic tempo. The character Violetta is a strong, even athletic Operatic character . I need more ah *ZEST* from this specific performance. Nadine, *please* give it a try for us, maybe even be a bit throatier. A well-placed gasp isn't out of the question.

Hundo p, everything here is well executed. Props for that, but this ain't it for me. Maybe it's the timbre, the kind "serious" tone and phrasing she applies? Not sure. Good for her though.
Lovely dress and earrings. A matter of croce and delizia in the interpretation. A Garbo laugh. Good technique... sort of. Champagne not so good. Glass thrown in anger. Why?
