Praised for her vocal beauty, seamless technique, and abundant musicality, Nadine Sierra is being hailed as one of the most promising, young talents in opera today. She was named the Richard Tucker Award Winner in 2017 and was awarded the 2018 Beverly Sills Artist Award by the Metropolitan Opera. Having made a string of successful debuts at the Met, Teatro alla Scala, Opéra national de Paris, and Staatsoper Berlin, she has become a fixture at many of the top houses around the world. In 2018, Deutsche Grammophon/Universal Music labels released her debut album, “There’s a Place for Us”, followed by a second album, Made For Opera, in 2022.
I saw her live as Nannetta and she was really good, but this sounds less impressive. I think she has a very light lyric voice more suitable to Mozart or Handel music, which is of course not a bad thing! 😏At least that was my impression after hearing her voice live on stage.
I understood the nuances of this aria with Netrebko and Villazon! Wow! In this MET performance Alfredo is “all-fredo (Italians will get it). He sings to the audience not to her! Strange indeed. And to increase drama some notes were sang in higher pitch. Like Callas said: “don’t invent, the composer wrote all he wants in his he scores”
Che cantante e attrice meravigliosa!!! Stupenda ❤
The Opera Magazine Readers’ 2023 Award was presented to American soprano Nadine Sierra, in the only award of the evening voted for by the public.
Interpretim natyral ,pervec vokalit kristal.❤
No one can carp like opera carp. Good examples below.
Gorgeous! Like the great sopranos of the old times.
I just wish she has used chest on the last note (a-di-iiiiiiiiii-OOOOOOOO!!!)

I love me some Nadine but i feel like she is a show pony sometimes..like she doesnt get lost in the character or the emotion...
There is something very university level about all of this. It's not giving metropolitan opera house. Maybe that's why there is no one coming!
What does this mean? " It's not giving metropolitan opera house."
Yes what ?.
@@BellaFirenze it doesn’t live up to the met’s standards
@@kngiht84 They haven't had standards for a while. Gelb.
@@BellaFirenze that is a fact! But then, there are not that many great singers these days anyway, either in Europe or the Americas.
2:39 what? 😂
She was on key though
Maybe overracted but not bad

Good, but not in the same class as Netrebko with Villazon.
There is something quite wrong about this performance. And they yell BRAVA! Oy vey.
