I imagine it's not getting much attention because we already have KDE Connect which despite the name works on any DE and even Windows. The only benefit over KDE Connect is that it can interface with Android's Quick share, but that's not really a huge plus.
"The only benefit over KDE Connect is that it can interface with Android's Quick share, but that's not really a huge plus" ..thats exactly the "huge plus", because you're using the default file sharing in Android, and you dont need to install anything else; of course KDE connect can do more things than file transferring, but ...
@@mii_betaWhy would ppl not want to install something else? yeah ik its cool and saves an extra step but kde connect offers dozens of useful features with more open documentation and probably better security/privacy. quickshare is a convoluted piece of software (neardrop dev's statement) and since google is able to change their implementation at any moment, integrating it as a service into desktops doesn’t make sense either.
@@OkarinHououinKyouma Are you using Gnome? If you are use GSConnect, it's a KDE Connect implementation but written for Gnome; still uses the KDE Connect app on the phone side.
btw, thats a nice project for doing in GTK-RS
Why doesn't bW use Pinephone Pro with GNOME Shell Mobile tho? :/
can't wait for a GTK implementation of this
So what's your thoughts on Local send's take on multi-platform file transfer?
KDE Connect desktop client should just integrate that already tbh
Artificial play store access limitations will almost make it unusable.
can't you use gsconnect instead ?
Might wanna use it. Cuz I always forget to launch the app on one side or the other. At least I wouldn't have to think anymore about the other side 🙃
what AI voice do you use? it sounds pretty good
I think the UI is supposed to emulate how the Windows version looks like, that's why it looks out of place
Nice, Poco enjoyer spotted
We need a kittie Q&A
Ah, kde connect already does that :O But it looks like a nice alternative. I don't really understand the difference, but thanks for letting us know!
what tts do you use?

KDE connect keeps breaking on my system

What mirroring apps you use for android?
Probably scrcpy
yes, it's scrcpy!
why not localsend?
cuz you dont need to install anything on Android? then again, LocalShare has a better interface -had uploaded a video on that too!
what linux distro do you use?
says on video already, but it's Fedora Rawhide!
@@mii_beta for daily use? cool.
@@mzakyr342 using it for years, it's very stable actually
Oi! Dont stoopid cat da cat 😾
Wanting to use an app just because its written in Rust has got to be one of the stupidest reasons to use it
That's not what's happening.. people just do Rust in GitHub -at least when targeting Linux
Because nothing else makes sense! Did not listen to the video lol
no more using whatsapp. yay
I am developping an alternative
LocalSend exists BTW, not sure if you knew. Will it offer any improvements over LocalSend? More power to ya, though
@electric26 Interesting! I want to base my app on the Croc protocol
@@quantumsoul3495 that actually looks quite interesting. It looks like croc has quite a few nice features :)
please do not the cat
local share much better
i think i'd preferred Quick Share coz we dont need to care in Android side
waste of time
