@@dreamit.buildit I appreciate the quick reply very much. That’s nice to hear. This may seem like an odd question, would you feel comfortable with this firearm in an apocalyptic scenario, knowing that you’d have to confirm zero every time you checked for rust. I know that seems like a very anal and particular question. My OCD has been going nuts, apologies. I really like the nDLC but am hesitant on the reliability/toughness of the blueing. Thank you very much for the insight!
@qxinstrapped in that scenario, the last thing you are going to be worried about is a little surface rust under an optic. I would not be taking it off.
Thanks for the vid. I also live in the PNW and am sold. Solid testament to WMW.
Yeah I was impressed with how little rust was on there considering the moisture we see here. They are good to go for sure.
Excellent post up for those that want to know....and cool it was not bad at all!
love that you did a follow up video, just sent in my Glock 17 Gen 5 slide to get milled for a Holosun 407k footprint .
thank you for this follow up
Glad you found it helpful
Your hands so big it makes that thing look like a Glock 26
😂
Just curious when you originally put the dot on did you put any gun lube/oil on the cut or no?
Yes I put a thin layer of gun oil in the cut area when I originally mounted the dot.
@@dreamit.buildit gotcha thank you
Where did you get the cover plate!!??
Came with the cut from wager
Did they offer cerakote when you had this done?
Yes they did. I wanted to keep my factory finish though.
Ok and do you think that if you would’ve gotten that part cerakote, it wouldn’t have any rust?
@migueltovar1522 I believe if it was cerakoted it definitely would have no rust.
@@dreamit.buildit yea I thought so, I want to send mine in but idk if should the open sights up front or leave it the way it is
If you did it again, would you still opt in for the bluing? Even over a nitride finish? Is the nDLC worth keeping over nitriding?
I would do the same thing again, unless I was looking to change the color.
