Clean and High Gain sound with Mesa Boogie Mark V:25 straight to Torpedo Live with no post processing.
Kinda helpful but you need to use just one guitar to really hear the differences. I've taken one P.U. and tried in 3 different guitars and it sounds totally different in each guitar.
PRS 57/08 Sounds the best on all settings. I have an SC245 I picked up used that isn't wired for splitting/tapping coils. Now I think I have to do that soon. I love that guitar, but those pickups sound great split in your sample.
My fav are HFS/VB and ME pups, and now it's a 58/15LTs! :)
I was super thrown off because to me the 57/08’s sounded the worst being extremely thin. Maybe my headphones are dying or something lol.
The Modern Eagle won in every test for me. Super punch and clear. I also really liked the extra bright tone in the 57/08

I’ve always been a fan of the 57/08 but the hfs sounds pretty great too. Just depends what genre you’re playing. HFS for metal, 57/08 for everything else
HFS always , bcz if you roll down the guitar volume knob down a little you can get the modern eagle tone ore maybe the dragon 2 😄 but not vice versa🍻

Perso, j'aime beaucoup cette micro! La sortie est assez faible mais le balance entre la compression et la clarté vraiment parfait !
Thanks for doing the comparison, but as a comparison there are too many other variables in this to decide whats best (wood, trem, scale length possibly, nut material, wiring config). Interesting to listen to though. In my experience, the HFS and VB record really well, have great split tones and push an amp nicely. The 57/08 is the best neck pickup I've ever heard - throaty and not boomy. However, my favourite PRS pickups are the 58/15TM's. They are clearly different from any pickup I've heard before, and I wish they were available to purchase.
I will do a test of 5 different pups in one CU24 to have more faire conditions. But completely agree about 58/15! Have them in my 594SC and they are absolutely amazing !!!!!!!!! :)

Loved the modern eagle distorted through the mesa boogie, reminds me of Mark Tremonti sound even though i know he used HFS!

Я лично профилировал для себя кабы для моей Торпеды и могу со 100% точностью сказать что никто и никогда не отличит звук записанный через каб от звука записанного через торпеду с профилем этого каба.
То что ты слышишь как "жрет" звук на самом деле компрессия усилителя на чистом канале :)
I've always liked the hfs sound but those modern eagles are damn good on high gain too

@@Voronguitar I mean, all their pickups have their place. I've only played a CE w/ HFS, a semi hollow single cut 594, and a core Paul's. All sounded amazing but the HFS fit my style best. Now I have to try some MEs in person.
Unfortunately they are difficult to find :(

HFS/VB all the way!!!! Way more rich in harmonics and way more accurate in phrasing! At least for my taste :)

Not at all man! I have 59/09s in my SC250 Modern Eagle and the are very different from 57/08.
I took mine out of my guitar and on the bottom of the pick up it tells you what it is.... I don’t know if you’ve done this or not.... I had a hard time identifying my Gibson dirty fingers zebra pick up... and I had to hunt down my super Humbucker nickname tar backs in my 1973 SG I had no idea that they made 57/09’s without the nickel covers.... and the Bobbons soul square looking....

So about 59/09, it's really depends on what kind of sound you looking for. If you looking for a PAF type of sound but maybe slightly more modern (not in terms of sound, but in terms of playability) it will be a very good choice!
If you are looking to get more modern, metal type of sound, there are another pups, better suited for. PRS HFS/VB for exemple. Or Seymour Duncan, or BKP or you name it...
Personally I playing a lot of extreme metal with very vintagy PUPs and it's how I like it.
There are no rules.
59/09 are very dynamic and well articulated PUPs. That can do a lot of different music and it will be a good update for un SE model!
