Hi guys, if you like challenges, check out my "30 Challenges - 30 Days -Zero Excuses" project. You have nothing to lose and so much to gain -> 30challenges30days.com
I entered the flow state once after an acid trip...and the way he explained it is head on, it literally feels like your limitless and there is no resistance to any of your actions especially socially . It is an amazing state to be in and I know I lost that state because I found myself asking creative questions how to enter that state again which lead me to this video. The flow state feels superior but not in an egotistical way. It was a experience unforgettable and truly amazing and I am now on the quest to achieve this state on demand. Although he says it’s not possible I believe it can be done. The flow state truly is a superior state to be in. Never felt anything like it.
Working in restaurant kitchens helps to enter flow state, in my experience That or a great way to trigger panic attacks, there are two sides to every coin 🤷♀️
Yes bro I also had this experience and I agree 100/100 with you, when I did I felt important to always give a direction to my thoughts because I was a lot sensitive
Flow state has become one of the most fascinating concepts for me. The Art of Impossible by Steven Kotler is a great book bridging the gap between the metaphysical and the applicable dimensions of flow state.
I've found flow in guitar improvisation. I've been experiencing this for the past few months after making some pretty significant gains in my abilities over the past few years and I couldn't think of a way to describe the headspace (I just called it "the shred zone") but everything I've heard and read so far about "the flow state" seems to describe my experience perfectly. Sometimes I come back to reality and I can't believe what I was playing and how effortless it all seemed, really is hard to put into words. Thank you for this video.
Achieved flow years ago during a game of colors colors funnily enough. I effortlessly dodged everyone who was in my way and moved easily through the people in the gym. It’s like it wasn’t even me who was in control of my body. It was remarkable truly 🙏
The topic and theme of flow has grown in relevance in my life over the course of the last year. I entered 2020 with the goal of having a clear vision of my objectives and using flow to manifest my dreams into reality. Your video and email newsletter are, as always, perfectly timed to the journey of my life.
Wow...You're a breath of fresh air with this view. I love how you combine different ideas of reality: from science to psychology and spirituality. Very well done! You have a beautiful mind! ❤
I am 62 years old, Learning to skateboard. This process is 100% completely necessary In order for you to progress through your fears, with the knowledge and respect of pain. Whence you are free of those and allow your body to drive, then you will have achieved Flow.
Can u go into more details into how to go into flow state. Examples from regular life would be very useful. Looking to some practical cases to find flow while studying, doing-officejob, enjoying music/arts
I've been playing Tetris and Quake for many years, and those games lets me enter flow state. I struggle a lot with anxiety and depression and overthink "everything all the time" basically, so this let's me relax and not think or worry about things. It's a sense of relief while playing and I feel better afterwards as well. On top of that, I play better. I have come to terms with how good I am in games and I know where I am skill wise. I haven't thought about it as being into the moment and not focusing on the result before, so that was interesting to hear about in this video. Do the thing as best you can and will end up somewhere and have enjoyed the ride there. Or something like that.
I think I was in flow state watching this 😁 Seriously though what a beautiful video both artistically and from a usefulness perspective, I can only imagine how many hours went into it. I've found flow state to be profoundly helpful in my own life. From maximizing my potential in sport (cycling, jiu jitsu) to my work (video editing, etc). I've found just about any activity can benefit from flow. The one thing I see differently to this video is I've found that I can generate flow on demand. (1:02) It varies depending on the task, but I've developed specific cataylsysts that allow me to drift in and out of flow state fairly effortlessly... although it does take practice. For instance your night club example I suspect has triggers for flow that I suspect can be repeated. (Looking further away vs at the people right in front of you, focusing on the beat of the music, etc) Thank you for the inspiration! 😃
I was just researching about this... might beed to see it 3,4 times to grasp it. Nice video and background self. Thanks for your video and explanation.
My objective is the BIG3: Gaining skills/knowledge that earn money, respect, and confidence....Religion... Health & Fitness. These are the things that help me maintain flow, the focus on these things allows me to transcend negativity and anxiety.
As a mixed martial artist and a gymnastics instructor, I find myself slipping into the flow state occasionally when slipping punches with my back against the wall or when I am linking skill combinations together.
This script is a masterpiece! sentences feel like quotes from a spiritual book. But can somebody help me figure out the psychedelic colours on his face. It's not lighting effects yeah?
This was an awesome watch, has anyone else ever seen the guy with the long beard painting hundreds of paintings back to back i can't remember his name or find the video I seen it in🙏🏼
Flow Experience Explained in 2 minutes It has recently been demonstrated (link below) that reward uncertainty or novelty can enhance the sensory experience of high value reward. In other words, popcorn actually tastes better when we are watching exciting movies, and tastes worse when we are watching paint dry. This is due to what are called dopamine-opioid interactions, or the fact that dopamine activity (elicited by positive novel events, and responsible for a state of arousal, but not pleasure) interacts with our pleasures (as reflected by opioid activity), and can actually stimulate opioid activity, which is reflected in self-reports of greater pleasure. Opioid release occurs when we are consuming food and drink, but it also occurs when our musculature is in a state of inactivity or rest, which is why relaxation feels good. Thus it follows that any behaviors which have a lot of positive reward uncertainty (creating art, climbing mountains, etc.) will stimulate naturally occurring opioid activity in concurrent resting states, with subsequent self-reports of high arousal and pleasure, which precisely describes all flow experiences. In other words, flow is simply opioid-dopamine interactions due to pursuing positive novel events during a state of rest. Furthermore, as dopamine release scales with the salience of the activity, so will the resulting flow experience. We also see this for flow experiences, where the pleasure and arousal scales with the importance of the task. Thus a rock climber who is risking his life would have a more intense experience than if he were attached to a tether that would break his fall. A longer explanation from affective neuroscience is provided on pp. 80-85 in the open-source book on the psychology of rest linked below, as well as a simple procedure on pp. 48-50 to induce and sustain the positive affect characteristic of flow. The book is based on the work of the distinguished affective neuroscientist Kent Berridge, who was kind to review for accuracy and endorse the work. Rauwolf, P., et al. (2021) Reward uncertainty - as a 'psychological salt'- can alter the sensory experience and consumption of high-value rewards in young healthy adults. idk if this is flow but when I'm jump roping or running I enter this state where I don't think abt anything I don't think abt when I'm stopping or when im reaching my goal nothing at all I just continue the pattern of jumping or moving my legs but this usually only happens when im extremely exhausted and I'm training hard but at the end whenever I do enter that state I feel completely drained haha im
I always come here before starting my studying session. It helps me to not feed my anxiety when I do not understand the concept at first. Thank you for your videos!
I'm not sure if the two are exactly the same phenomenon, there may be slight nuances that distinguish them, but have you heard of Colin Wilson and/or what he described as the "peak experience"? I've only read his most well known work 'The Outsider' (he was incredibly prolific, must be among the most prolific writers in all of history) but I've seen interviews where he discusses them and read a bit on the topic, and there's definitely a huge overlap at the very least.

Psychedelics are a secure portal to flow state. Not sure how people can enter flow on demand and without a certain warm up and intention (sober).

Superb. Have shared on my social media. So nicely done, so helpful, so cheering and and important.
Flow state reminds me of bipolar mania state, where you feel like you can do anything, nothing is there to stop you..

Best presentation on the flow state I've come across 👌🏾
This is the first video of yours that i ever came across, and it's enough to convince me to subscribe. Great editing and writing, fantastic content!

I'm impressed of how you pronounced Mihály's name! Congrats! Shows how much effort you put into your videos!
It took me some time but I managed to get the pronunciation right haha
It truly helps to meditate, focusing on objective. Picturing how u will attain it and that u have retained it
Repeating a task with slowly increasing difficulty is the best way to achieve flow for me.
Wonderful delivery. Thank you.
Hi. I always wait for your videos. As expected it is one of the best videos of yours. Thanks for sharing. Comfort is enemy of growth for mankind.
I like that you mentionned that being objective oriented is different than being outcome dependant.

I think a helpful thing to do, is focus on an aspect of a task that you enjoy and become better at it, then add to the list
You basically articulated what I experienced today. Such a high that’s unparalleled. Still astounded at how I stumbled across your video.
Serendipity. :)
