Pls can you tell me the difference between msc public health and mph which is masters of public health ? I want to do my masters in public health but am seeing two different thing
Dr. Amina. My daughter was accepted at Master Program Epidemiology at Imperial College London. The school fee is too expensive that we can't afford it. Alhamdulillah she received fully funded scholarship fromTampere University Finland. It is a scholarship in Master Program in Gobal & Public Health. How can she contact you personally.
@@swldnsstory9843 there's more than 1. Central Library was adequate before covid-19. As a student you rarely use the physical library and most rooms can be used as a study space when free.
I go to Imperial and I’d say this is a fair review. However, I’d probably say that it’s not many research labs (life sciences and medicine) based in south ken, quite a huge number are based on Hammersmith hospital and soon also white city campus
I'm wondering about whether or not I should go with Imperial or UCL, my basic understanding is that Imperial has a more recognisable academic vibe and perhaps is more viable in terms of job prospects and networking. However, I have chosen a course (material science engineering, that frankly, I am gambling I will enjoy. I'm not a chemistry/lab person but maybe the math behind innovating structures with molecules may be exciting) UCL on the other hand, I don't think dispairs too much in comparison in terms of job prospects and academic prestige (though im not certain how employers view the two schools), and the course seems more suited to my want to apply math to design. (Engineering & architectural design), however, the architecture school is quoted to be the best in the world so perhaps I might be under even more stress than I would at ICL. I suppose the question is, will I regret my time at UCL for losing out on the future opportunities that I could have had at ICL. And, will I regret my time at ICL for the enjoyment of the course I could have had at UCL. Any advice would be greatly appreciated :)
I'm struggling making this decision too!! I wanna enjoy my uni experience which I believe would be better at UCL and I don't want to spend the entire time stressing and revising. But yh again how could turn down the opportunity of going to the best uni in Europe for your course ?! Any views on this would be GREATLY appreciated
I would say go to the university you think you will enjoy the most. I know a lot of people who have studied at Imperial, one of my friends even did a master's at Both UCL and Imperial and the consensus I've received is that the workload at imperial is a hell of a lot more then at other universities, wich will be good for you in the long run but I know a lot of people have ended up hating their degrees because of it.
I also have an offer from Imperial for MatSci Engineering but I am in 2 minds about making it my firm choice on UCAS. I am in the same position as you. Bath University offers me Mechanical Engineering and I am considering going there as I want to explore more physics based engineering. Let me know what you decide and if you also have advice :)
I went to UCL with a lot of people who, like me, had an offer from Imperial they rejected. This was in the 70s. I don't know if things have changed, but the key reason was the atmosphere at Imperial. When we went for interview, and were shown around, nobody seemed to know anyone else, or what the people at the next bench were doing. It didn't feel like a good place to get introduced to new, and potentially interesting, paths we might take. That's something you really want to get out of your undergraduate course. We assumed the high number of foreign students at Imperial was because they never went there for interview, and judged Imperial only by its high reputation. You talked about the issue of high accommodation costs, and the distance most people live from the campus. However, I don't think you adequately emphasised the difference that makes to student life. Most students in Central London colleges do almost nothing together outside college hours. No socialising. No group study. Nothing. Its just like having a job. If you get one year in a hall of residence, surrounded by other students most of the time, you are lucky. If you go to a university where most accommodation is within a couple of kilometres of the campus there is a lot more potential for students to work together. Neither is better or worse, but it is very different, and one style may suit you a lot better than the other.
I have to say that I believe Imperial has moved away from the atmosphere you describe. There is a strong sense of commeradery within my department, as well as a significant number of group projects that require collaboration.
I'd love to go to imperial but my parents and sisters would NEVER let me study somewhere further than 30 mins away from where we live which annoys me so much. *starts to cry*
Yeah i get this a lot but i also implore you to talk to them because every school os different and one would good for your own needs so i hope you don't turn universities down because of this... tbh you might resent them later in life if they hindered your decisions in this way! Really rooting for you!
me too for MSC environmental technology program. but I will have to drop my plan of going there cause the tuition fee is very high for international students
Hello, i applied to imperial for medical biosciences could u please help me out? Is it true that from 2017 onwards biomedical sciences at imperial became only lab based and no lectures?
The opportunity to help this particular comment has passed but for anyone else in the same situation who may happen upon this comment - just email the university and ask. They won't shoot you over it I hope whatever happened to the original commenter worked out for the best :)
Hey! I got into the same course.. I think (Mres in the general stream, BMR). Just wanted to ask what grade you received and any advice to prospective students. Loved your vid x
Hi, I think it's great that you were able to publish your projects! Would you mind telling us how you did that? Was it something you did as an individual or with help from a supervisor?
Thanks for the video!! Very helpful. Just abit confused on one point you made where u said imperial ranks much higher than ucl. On most of the world rankings I’ve checked UCL ranks higher? Maybe I’m mistaken?
I.M.O. UCL ranks higher than ICL in general rankings of universities, but ICL is better when talking about science & business degrees. Lists of top universities can differ a lot depending on what do you take under consideration when comparing different universities. @EDIT On ICL official website you can find this: "We are ranked 1st in London, 3rd in Europe and 10th in the world Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2020."
@@beckystacey6972 The lists vary a lot, depending on their criteria. If you look at the UK lists you will see some oddities, like all the London colleges scoring lower than their reputations would suggest. That seems to be because student feelings are a big factor in the scores, and the students are mostly unhappy about the high costs of studying in London.
Alsalamu Alakuim. I an studying for the GRE. I also want to apply for colleges in Europe. What exams are they looking for mostly the ones you know for History and English Majors who are international students. English is my Native language.
Depends a little but you should have taken one of the pre-Oxbridege exams ( STEP MAT PAT etc) but you are too late for this years applications! Sorry but these do increase your chances (I am an academic director of an International school)
