Great video! The swappable fuselage idea has been around since I think the Duraplane (Late 1980's .40 size nitro drain pipe fuselage high wing) Glad to find this channel and happy to subscribe. I like your style.
If you are into inexpensive RC planes, also check out Experimental Airlines, lots of great stuff from Ed. Experimental Airlines is also a contributor on the Flite Test website.
I finally decided to place an order with HK. Made sure everything was available from the US warehouse. 4 days later, my instant paid order still hasn't left the warehouse. I was hoping to get everything by the weekend, but now that is impossible. No reason to sit on the order. At least it was affordable.
since making this video, there are cheaper components you can obtain, using dupron real estate signs or voting signs can drive down the costs even more. Flite test is showing videos on how to reperpose electronics from crashed and wrecked aircraft. I find the swapables the cheapest to build. Using stuff found around the house or resale shops would equally put the cost into that $50 dollar range. I found the most expensive part of getting into rc plans is the Transmitter. I have found receivers as cheap as $11:00. I know this video has been out a while, but as time goes on,the cost of flying continues to drop. This benifits everyone wanting to get into the sport at a cheaper cost. It doesnt take in the ability to learn how to fly. I recommend going to a flight field and learn from an experienced pilot. They are eager to get others into the sport. many of the grumpy old timers that refused younger people are gone now.
$48 plus $30 or whatever they charge for shipping... It's annoying when people quote hobbyking but don't include shipping costs, I'm not sure if hobbyking pays people to do these videos or if that many people don't understand shipping should be included when talking about ordering things online.
Yes that price is not including shipping but at the time of making the video it was only about $6 to ship the parts I needed. No, HobbyKing did not sponsor the video and I actually didn't like their parts anyway. I made an updated version of this video with parts from a US dealer with the shipping cost within the $50 budget.
This is amazing! And Flite Test is just about to start miniaturizing their swappables too. The magnets are a nice touch
Can't wait for the build video. Great looking little planes.
Nice job... looking forward to seeing the plans!

nice vid. the delta looks pretty fast too
very nice!!! wen we're going to have some plants???
Great vid m8...like your style.
They will be coming out shortly.
Can those magnets Damage Electronic parts if you get them close together?? Great video! Subbed!
HI Lucas, Was hoping to see some plans by now I Know you are a busy bee but even some measurements would be great
Niveau Job - your plan's and HK parts list would be interesting THK
If you bump up to a 600mah 3s, AX 2306N 1300kv motor, the cheapest SS ESC, and the HK special RX you can easily drop the price $15.
Could you possibly give a link in the description to all of the parts? I'd love to make one of these.
Great vid :)
Thumbs up!
Im Disable and like to stay busy. So were are your plans on these 2 planes.
Are do you sell the foam kit only? How much?
Looks great! How do they fly in wind?
I'm gonna have to try this out
Oh, and can you post the parts list?
Hi lucas , for when the make video and plans please .
Really like the design of the slow flyer and would like to build one for my son .
Cheers.
How do the magnets keep the power pod from sliding forward?
nice job!
I. Want. Plans. NOW! and would an eflite 180 brushless motor work for this airplane?
Have you made plans yet. What are the electronics your using.
Thanks

Thanks, David

Hi it's almost a year and still no plan. Did you forget about it
what about the plans do you have them yet ?
plans yet?
Yeah pretty much
i challenge you to make a swapable with a the prop in the rear using the same fuselage (you can use a different prop)
Great plane i bought thr swappable planes from flitetest!

Any plans yet??
Try the Hextronik 28g motor ;-)
Very Efficient ! Cool Video :)
Plans?
Ausome but PLANS ?
Nice video quality and editing but camera is always a little too zoomed in. Step it back a bit and it would improve things greatly.
What kind of 3D printer do you have?
So I was about to order from HobbyKing, but this comment makes me doubt that I should. What's the issue? Are they not trustworthy?
I don't know, check hobby king
I meant nice job!
You ain't FliteTest Baby!!!!!
No they can't, common misconception
i ordered something from china on the 6th and it was at my door by the 11th. i live in the uk btw

I have know problem with HK do your homework and shop around. There prices are very fair.
Don't bother, some people really feel the need to justify paying more for the same stuff...
Can i plrase have the plane?
don't forget about all the taxes you will have to pay!
No I ain't
Use carbard to make it for 50 dollar
You my friend have a sub :P
